September 19, 20223 yr Hi, Can someone please help me with settings for an RCT-AXKING-5K48V inverter connected to a Dyness 4.8kWh. I believe my setting is correct as per the manual from Dyness but my problem is that on the Inverter screen the battery shows 100% but as soon as the utility drops my battery capacity drops to below 50% (Attached file 20220919.xls shows the data) On the Battery indicators it shows that it is full and does not go lower that 3 lights out of 5. September 19, 20223 yr Under battery type - what other options do you have? Is the battery connected to the inverter through the comms port?
September 19, 20223 yr Author @mzezmanThe other options I have there is AGM, Flooded and PYLON. It is connected through the coms port with network cable that was supplied with battery.
September 19, 20223 yr Only if the Dyness makes use of Pylontech RS485 communication protocol will it be compatible with the inverter. Otherwise USE settings will work but the appropriate other settings like Bulk, float, cut off & charge amps will need to be set in the inverter.

Trying to get proper settings for older Axpert type inverters.

The cable that came with the battery won't work either (it's for battery to battery comms), you may have been provided a battery cable with the inverter? If not you need to make up a custom cable with the dyness pinout. I think the dyness works just like a pylontech with the axpert, but I'm not 100% sure, there should be other posts about this on the forum. 13 hours ago, MarkP said: the battery shows 100% but as soon as the utility drops my battery capacity drops to below 50% The reason for this is that the axpert uses the battery cutoff and charge voltage settings to calculate the range of charge (0-100%). The problem is that the battery settles to a lower voltage than the charging voltages, so it appears to drop dramatically when the charging source is disconnected as the inverter works with voltage. The other reason it drops so dramatically is because it takes the cutoff voltage (47.5V) as 0%, but in actuality that is more than 20% SOC, so the range become smaller. If you change the cutoff setting to the same voltage that represents 0% SOC on the battery it would bring the two more in line with each other, but they will never be the same as the battery counts the current (A) going into the battery, but the inverter uses the voltage. The lights on the battery will always be the correct one though.

December 2, 20223 yr Author I got the problem resolved working with the supplier. The problem was the firmware on the inverter. I had to update the firmware and select LIC under battery type. Now the Dyness battery and inverter is communicating.
December 3, 20223 yr The "secondary CPU version" actually shows the version of SCC firmware, not display firmware. And it was display (including BMS) firmware that you needed updated. I do wish they'd fix that one. It's fixed with the phone app. Edited December 3, 20223 yr by Coulomb
May 10, 20233 yr my battery seems to have the same issue, despite my supposered 'newer' inverter, have the axpert 11KW, with a 4.8kw dyness battery, and have the comms cable installed. what would be the lowest cut-off voltage? have myne currently set on 47.0, yet the default setting is 45, which seems really low. I honestly don't mind the current setting, but just want to test the actual battery capacity out hence for one time i want to take it to like 10% of charge left. btw my CPU version's 57.04 and secondary CPU version's at 12.21, is this the latest?

Your display (secondary) firmware is up to date, but there is a slightly later main firmware, 57.05: I'm still not totally convinced which is later, 57.05 or 57.61, but so far it looks like 57.61 was experimental, and some of the changes that they tried out there are gone again in 57.05. But that's just a slightly educated guess.
