September 20, 20223 yr Hello everyone, I have searched high and low for a solution to my problem but I cannot seem to find any real solution. I have a Kodak OG Plus 5.48 inverter, 9 solar panels and a Pylontech US3000 5kw battery. The inverter switches off randomly all the time (especially when the grid is off during loadshedding). The inverter never has a high load, it doesn't heat up or crank up in any way. It just switches off and never comes back on until I press the button on the battery. The most common error message is F56, which is apparently a problem with voltage. As I said, it's very random - sometimes there is 3 days without any issues, other days it switches off every 3mins. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

September 21, 20223 yr Well, you could just try turning on loads while watching the battery current on the inverter. If the inverter 'switches off' with around 3.5kW of load, then that is probably your issue.
September 21, 20223 yr I don't know how well the pylontech maximum discharge rate is implemented. From anecdotes, I suspect that the BMS will shut down as soon as you exceed 37A. This event is possible with some base load and the fridge cycling on (due to the induction motor inrush current).
September 21, 20223 yr You need atleast 3 of those batteries to properly satisfy the inverters needs if there is no sunshine.

September 21, 20223 yr Might be totally unrelated, but I had a similar problem with a different inverter and battery. Turned out to be a problem with the BMS cable between the battery and inverter, such that the battery SOC reading on the inverter was different to the SOC level indicated on the LED's on the front panel of the battery. Maybe worth a sanity check to confirm that your battery is in fact going into load shedding with the charge level you think it's got.

If one does not check what the base load is when a fridge cycles on there is a big chance that the 37A @ 48V will be exceeded as you mentioned even if just for 3 seconds. I would explore this area 1st when trying. If more than 1 fridge then this should be the reason.
