Good day

I'm looking for a 5kw off grid inverter that is IP65 with a 5kw battery that is also IP65,

we want to setup a backup supply but only have space outdoor under a car port to instal it so it must be weatherproof.

any suggestions on what to use for the installation

Inverters should not be a problem. A quick check shows that Sunsynk, Deye and Goodwe all make IP65 rated inverters.

I believe that Sunysnk batteries have an IP65 rating, but download the data sheet and check. I can't say anything else about Sunsynk because I've never used them.

FreedomWon have a marine range which is IP65 rated.

An alternative for batteries may be to get an IP65 enclosure around them.

I have seen some pictures of Deye inverters installed outdoors but did not get the battery name that was used with them I'm also checking specs on batteries, but most don't show IP rating.

The problem with enclosers is it take up lots of space and need temp control, or it will overheat

Check the manufacturer's websites. EG I can tell you that the FreedomWon LiTE 10/8 and the Revov R100 are IP20 rated, because that information is published on the manufacturers websites.

A rigorous, conscientious installer will advise you.

Sigenergy SigenStor is IP66 rated. 6kW inverter and 9kWh 0.5c batteries which stack underneath inverter.

Thank you for all the inputs I'm sorted now I'm going with Deye inverter

What I have done is simply built a plywood enclosure with plenty of ventilation ...... I painted on a resin to seal the wood completely ....... I live in an area where even plastic rusts 😂 so although everything was IP65 i wasn't going to take any chances, two years in and all good.

I have Sunsynk components that are rated IP65 and installed outside, due to limitations on my property. For safety, I installed a large, galvanised cabinet for the equipment (against an outside wall). I would recommend that.
