System is in... now to get use to it, figure out how everything works. Next up when I'm there in 2 weeks will be installing some additional CT's and a Rpi running Home Assistant and 2 Sonoff's, t

  • I don't think you're trying hard enough. Surely you could just take the box off the wall and have a look at the brand. 😉

  • Uuuurgh OCD hit - timers say different times... But nice - all in one.

... so was there... the guy behind the counter that does the electrical stuff not there today, have emailed him. also asked sparky again.

will try and chase it.

update on my system... removed another 10 x 50w down lights, replaced with 10 x 3.5w LED's.

got another 22 to go, they ran out of stock... or make that the order that they ordered for me have not arrived.

It's a holiday today... I also only discovered that after the electrical place was still closed at 08:30 when I went past it. I did manage to get wheel alignment done though. Amazingly it wasn't that far out, considering it hasn't been done in the past 11 years... 🙂

I get a feeling it's going to be downhill from here... not a single thing has broken or had to be touched until last week. Then it started to pull a little to the left (according to me at least), the alternator failed (that was expensive), I have Diesel parts on the way trying to cure a cold start... we'll have to see if the ol' Toyota continues to be as reliable as it was up to here.

And the panels are going up... 6 of the 9 yesterday, remaining 3 today and then the back board with inverter, CC, VenusGX today, if all well it will be commissioned today, otherwise tomorrow.

My longe have 12 down lights so 12 x 3.5 is enough power,

the bed rooms all have 4 each, so fine, passage have 5, so fine again.

consider the 4 or 5 before going all the way to 6watt, have a look at the old wattage equivalent writing, more important though, look at the lumen number and compare against that.

G

Ooh, looks cool!

I am really starting to enjoy seeing these types of posts, and cannot wait to ultimately start my install as well.

I presume you are running 3x3 panels? (sorry may have mentioned before)

will be running a 3S2P string onto a dedicated BlueSolar 150/35 facing NE and a 2nd string, for now only 3S onto a 2nd BlueSolar 150/35 pointing N, will be expanded later by a 2nd set of panels, 3S, giving me 2 arrays each of 3S2P each onto a dedicated MPPT.

Have place for another 6 panels, will be on a 3rd 150/35 when they get fitted.

apparently the back board onto which the Inverter, Charge Controllers, VenusGX is suppose to go is not available today, will be back Monday... apparently... which I get phoned and this told to me instead of asking the guys when they expect XYZ and then I hear this.

Is the upper clamp in a zone ?

I would have preferred that it be 3cm higher... but that is nit-picking. It is in zone.

huh ?

I think the angle the photo was taken at makes this look worse than it is. The 25% optimal point is where the red arrow is. This is surely close enough 🙂

Thanks, will have to have a look. know the installer battled to get the rails up, something to do with my roof not using standard brandering under the tiles.

Will get him to sign off and then inspect in 2 weeks when I"m there.

i would have thought maybe one tile to the right would have been a better place.

wider the clamping spacing the more leverage it would have.

G

ps... these are AmeriSolar 330w panels, 72 cells each.
