August 7, 20197 yr Hi, Woke up this morning to sad beeping from my inverter. No lights on my 2 Us2000b batteries, battery monitor blank. Inverter says battery voltage 0. Cycled the power switches on the batteries with no effect. Looking at my monitoring, the batteries went offline about 16:30 yesterday. At that point all looked fine - 90%+ soc, cell voltage and balance fine, etc. Anybody had this? Suggestions on how to investigate and get them working again. They've got 60-ish cycles and I've had them maybe 6 months or so.
August 7, 20197 yr I can't provide much details, but I do know of a bunch of them that blew FETs and short circuited their output. Not sure if they were 3000s or 2000s. Nevertheless, it seems that is what you need to do, let the supplier open them up and look inside. (I remember at one point when people were arguing the merits of which brand, one of the reasons to go with a locally made battery was exactly that service ought to be easy to get. Let's hope you don't have any trouble with the Pylon!) Edited August 7, 20197 yr by plonkster

When they were new I had some alarms on them. Since I was cycling them and using a lower charge voltage I didn't have any more problems. @plonkster here's how it looks on the monitoring: Red and Blue are the voltage measurement coming from the RS485 on the batteries themselves. As you can see stopped dead when the battery went off (at which point no response of course on the RS485). Orange is what the inverter reported - so sitting at 50v and then suddenly plummeting to 6v and exponential decay. My inverter is programmed to limit draw from the batteries to 1000W / 20A total or 10A per battery when the grid is present, and my inverter can only charge at 25A total which is half what the batteries are rated for. So in my opinion the batteries have an easy life. Oh well, I'll contact the supplier. Thanks, Elbow

Almost every day there is someone on the form asking about a problem they are experiencing with their pylon tech LFP... Don’t get me wrong, I am not at all dissing their products, I know of many members here who have used their modules for many months without problems. However there seems to be many problems with them of late... 🤔

SegenSolar is asking for info on inverter setup and etc - I think I will send them many megabytes of data from Openenergymonitor 😈

Support goes without saying. Let’s see if folks get the pillar to post treatment, or accountable after sales service. I hope the latter.
August 8, 20197 yr Author Hi, I'm happy to say that my batteries are actually not dead. They did shut down in some way, but when I split them apart and power-cycled / reset then they came back on. I then reassembled them again and working as before. In the last week or two I stopped cycling them each day - since I kept hearing about shedding coming back. In terms of engaging for a warranty claim, Philip at The Powerstore was great. I guess he got them from Segensolar who were wanting detailed info on the setup. I guess that's understandable. I have tons of data on EmonCMS so would have been able to show all the use was conservative. So I can't tell you what the end result of a claim would have been, but the supplier and importer seemed to be stepping up. But happily I'm back in business!
