Can you maybe confirm what the fw bin file name is? Thanks. Also have you been able to pin point when the data stops collecting? From my initial tests, in my case it seemed to be once the batteries were charged to 99/100% and PV then gets disconnected and all load moves to the batteries to auto discharge till around 95%. In that cycle mine would usually stop collecting and then start again around 93/94% battery SOC. Edited July 14, 20206 yr by Tsa
July 15, 20206 yr STM32F030CC_SK036 - that's the bin file. I don't have PV so utilising as a pure backup. There is definitely no set pattern on when the data points stops. It's completely random and length of period for it being offline also varies from minutes to hours.

Just to confirm, you are also running this with Dyness batteries and on Li mode profile L01?
September 8, 20205 yr Have you been able to sort out your data-logging issues? I have had a Growatt SPF 5000TL HVM-WPV with a Dyness B3 3.6Kwh battery running now for just over a month. Yesterday morning at 00:10 was the last time that I received any data on the website. I removed the WiFi dongle last night and added it back. This morning I switched the inverter to USE and then back to Li mode but none of this seemed to help at all. The WiFi dongle (ShineWIFI-S running firmware version 1.7.6.6) just keeps on flashing a green light which according to all the manuals seems to mean that all is in working order.
September 8, 20205 yr Still not sorted but I live with it. I get readings daily, but just some have some hours missing here and there. I did receive another firmware update from China but still didn't help. Ps: the dongle should be flashing blue if everything is fine.

I ended up having to delete the data-logger on the app and then adding it back. It is now working again with a blue flashing light.
November 13, 20205 yr Hi Guys, Not sure if this will help. reading your tread. i noticed something common. US2 allows the datalogger to connect to the servers. btw I have been having the same issue for two days now. I have been going crazy resetting checking router logs check datalogger connection status. i also noticed the storage portion of the logging is lost when you set it to LI option 2. I tried the following and touch wood has worked for me. while the inverter is on and supplying load. i change option 5 to US2 left it for a few minutes until the datalogger start to show a blue LED. waited another 5min and changed it back to LI option 2. All other settings are default. Except 1 SBU and 14 SNU.
March 18, 20215 yr I have a similar problem with the missing data, and ShinePhone app as well as growatt website showing "disconnected" even when the wifi dongle light is blue and flashing. I did some debugging and when attached to the ad-hoc wifi network on the dongle, I see that the time on the inverter doesn't match the time on the dongle. The dongle shows correct time, but the time on the inverter is slow (>5 mins slow). I clicked the sync time option which aligned the times, and after a few minutes it connected and show data again. This the only thing that works, physically removing and re-adding the dongle as well as re-adding in the app does not work. Anyway, the sync is short lived, after a few days, it get's "disconnected" again, and when checking the time, it is once again slow. For me the battery Li option has no effect, it is already set to User. Not sure if it's the same issue as others are experiencing though, but it might be a clue to the problem.
March 18, 20215 yr Author @Mahen : Interesting on the time thing. I would again suggest logging this with Growatt so that they can become aware and maybe someone with some savvy hears this and decides to sort it out. I actually had the same the other day, everything looked fine on the dongle, correct blue flashing sequence and same story, no data. After the 5th unplug and replug it started working and continued working. The previous ones would give 1 or 2 datapoints and then stop again. Could you maybe share how you connected to the ad-hoc wifi to check these times?
June 1, 20215 yr Hi all. I have two HVM-P in single phase parallel with two Pylontech US2000 batteries. Setting LI 2. haven't had data logging loss of data. However, I have had random shutdowns for a few seconds and have been unable to identify the cause. So I removed the dongles and used pvkeeper to try and see in real time what was happening. So far no shutdowns. How about the possibility that the dingle commsare interfering with the BMS comms?
June 6, 20215 yr I have 2 x Growatt SPf5000TL HVM-P and 2 x Pylontech US2000's. Communication via BMS. I noticed a few weeks ago that there would suddenly be a loss of power for a few seconds totally randomly. A complete shut down and restart. Occasionally I could capture on one of the WIFI dongles a sudden drop in output volts from one of the Inverters. I decided to switch to PVKEEPER to see if I could see what was happening in real time. Since removing the WIFI dongles which is necessary in order to plug in the USB, there hasn't been a drop out. It seems to me that the BMS is being interfered with by the WIFI dongle. Perhaps there is a common routine in the firmware that's handling both the BMS AND the WIFI? Has anyone here had any further response from either Growatt or the battery manufacturers?

September 17, 20214 yr Experiencing the same issue - wondering if anybody has managed to find the actual root cause and fix?
September 17, 20214 yr Hi JoeyhZA, I received a communication bored update to fix my issue. See url. note: I’ve noticed when internet is loss for hours. The data is stored on the inverter board. It than will upload the info when back online. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1FeaTkreHW_ljcqB38nYbbgzeeWVEJHxX?usp=sharing contact Support you use this software at your own risk. currently I’m working on: model:SPF 5000TL HVM-P Firmware Version:500.09/002.03/null good luck!

Haven't got round to installing this. Problem still persists though. I'm somewhat reluctant t flash firmware considering what could potentially go wrong. Can you confirm, you had the exact same issue where the ShineWifi shows connected but the Inverter/Storage status shows "lost" and no stats are displayed? If so, the firmware in the link you provided fixed it for you? Also, the exact firmware that's approx. 50KB in size? I have raised a call with Growatt through the in app support feature and it's been complete radio silence from them.

September 20, 20214 yr I can confirm that the issue is fixed with the latest comms board firmware. I struggled a few days with this particular upgrade. Since running all three available firmware upgrades (main firmware, BMS firmware and comms board firmware) the inverter is performing very well and communicating reliably over BMS with my Pylontechs. Data comms over the wifi dongle to the Growatt server has also been working well. I shared my experiences with the comms board upgrade here: https://powerforum.co.za/topic/6430-growatt-firmware-updates/?tab=comments#comment-98625

A firmware file named F2809_GW500.09_20201029_A.bin. Which I successfully patched and it didn't solve my wifi dongle problem. I presumed this was the 'main' firmware file as it's size is approx. 224KB. and A firmware file named F030_SK022_07_ 20200714.bin. Which is much smaller (approx. 50KB), which I haven't gotten around to flashing yet to see if the wifi issue gets resolved. Aiming to do that this weekend. What's the 3rd Firmware file?
September 22, 20214 yr This was firmware software, https://drive.google.com/open?id=12ttv9oCoC2rowUPDdsjfs0P4fz9DuSVt it has new software,a SOP file,a video about how to upgrade, using the communication cable that comes with inverter, suggest use Win7 system to upgrade, usually Win10 system warn missing system components, fail to upgrade, after upgrading, need to reset factory settings, please follow steps below(or https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ANR-hElVW3hro9b2_EWIjIkBRTEIgPU9): 1,connect battery well, disconnect grid utility, 2,press the second and the third bottom at the same time, 3,password 305 4,up or down to page 34 5,press enter bottom to get into rst setting 6,press enter bottom to reset, wait for a while,it will finish resetting please kindly note only use this software to upgrade inverter software in this case, thanks, there are two bin files in the location. the 3rd is the comm. board.
September 23, 20214 yr F2809_GW500.09_20201029_A.bin = main firmware F030_SK022_07_ 20200714.bin = bms firmware STM32F030CC_SK036.01m.bin = comms bord firmware They are provided in the various google drive links in the forum. Its a bit confusing unfortunately. This is only applicable to the Growatt SPF5000TL. Edited September 23, 20214 yr by Johan-Henry
