Kodak 7.2kW problem

I only have 12kw batteries on this bacause the batteries must only be used when the power goes of during loadshedding. So i want to use setting 1 at sub.

Am I missing something. Doesn't the power normally go off during loadshedding?

Hi, I have 9 kodac 7.2kw inverters tied to a 3 phase system. With 10 x 5kw batteries.

1 the batteries don't charge.

2 the unit stays on bypass.

Please

Post your settings and the power your solar pannels give. Then i can help you make small changes

Hi guys

not sure if anyone has solved this issue with the 7.2max Kodak yet.
I have found what works best for my setup 1x 7.2max and 2 x fl5.2 with 2s of 5p 455w

after months of trying to get it to blend power I have used the timer setting.
set to sbu from 06:00 to 16:00 and sub from 16:00 to 06:00

this way in sbu it starts discharging the batteries in the morning until around 9am when there is good sun and pv supplies the load and batteries.
batteries are full by around 11:30 and pv continues to supply the load until it switches over to sub

I have been generating about 11kwh per day. On this setup

what I have found with the max is that even though the charge priority is set to SNU it does not use utility to charge batteries if the pv voltage is above 90v

but at night after load shedding it charges from utility (set to 40amps)

How can i get the upgrade and who can assist me with this - Error Code F09

Unfortunately, fault code 09 (bus soft start fail) means that your IGBTs are short circuiting the bus. This is not something that can be fixed with firmware.

If the inverter is under warranty, get it repaired. Otherwise, find someone who can repair it, or if you're good with electronics, see the AEVA modification and repair topic.

Hi all, I noticed on the Kodak 7.2kw that when running on SUB there is a big power lost to the charging side. If running in SUB and the inverter load is 2900W and the PV production is 3850W only 200W will go for battery charging. If I change the inverter to SBU with the same conditions and at the same time the inverter load remains at 2900W, the PV total at 3850w but the battery charging wats will increase to 770W. My charging priority is set on OSO. Is there a way to to get better efficiency on SUB? If not is there an inverter that can get better efficiency?

The technician im working with is learning the settings with me since im the only instalation he made that wanted this kind of setup. The supplier from capetown did phone someone in eu today about one of my 5kw inverters that run in paralel mode that wont connect after repairs was made on him. F81 error. But anyway we ask them for allot of assistance on personal needs. These kodac inverters is excellent for offgrid use. The ones on my home works perfect.

To give advice for all people who is not ofgrid and is connected to utility in south africa. During loadshedding times there is allot of inverters breaking from all brands even the most expesive ones because when eskom puts the power back online there is spikes and dips in the line

What i did was to put a relay at my mains. When power comes online the relay wil count 2min down before it will let power go through

After that i have another relay that when there is a 5% spike or a 5% dip on voltage it wil also take utility ofline

Since i did this i had no more inverters just breaking down for no reason

I will gladly help someone ill keep an eye on this thread

Dankie baie

Yesterday I was actually thinking of doing exactly the same thing in my house, installing a contactor with a +_ 2-minute delay on my grid incomer. With all the switching on/off during load shedding it makes a lot of sense.

The extra effort way that I use if I want the grid connected is I set my Sonoff powering the AC in to inverter when no PV available is to switch on 15min after power comes back on after LS. On a day like today and the next 2 days I will be preserving battery power as PV would be very limited. PV now only 5W while yesterday with sunshine this time I got 450W. Grid tied on 14W vs 880W the same time yesterday.

Raining now although forecast was 75% around 15h00. Had one ear shattering thunder without seeing the flash. Got me to switch off grid and PV for a while.

If you guys did not solve this problem let me know. I solved this problem after 3 hours of struggle

Hello there we are having the same problem. It's using the utility when there is plenty of sun. How do we resolve this please???

Thanks

Hi I have two 7.2 inverters. The one connected with the power watch app.on the other one I tried every thing I can't connect. Can someone help 😫

Are they paralleled, i.e. special paralleling cards installed (maybe not needed on your model), with paralleling cables and current sharing cables? Otherwise, Watchpower can only talk to the one inverter that it's connected to.

Hi. Came across this group by chance. I have Kodak 7.2 inverter for about 2 years now & used to change settings everyday to benefit from solar during the day & preserve battery at night for loadshedding & power failures. Used to only use maximum solar on SBU setting which I used to change to SUB late in afternoon until next morning when back to SBU.

Stumbled across battery charge setting which resolved issue. Now I have output setting permanently on SUB & battery charging source priority as "Solar First". Not sure about the voltages, etc but above sorted out so now I don't change settings at all. During the day, it uses solar first (to whatever maximum available & required), then grid, then battery.

Hope the above assists.

Hi,

WiFi issue here….

I have a 7.2 Kodak inverter my watch power app worked fine often made changes during the day and just like monitoring the status of my batteries…

For 2 weeks now the app hasn’t worked I can’t reconnect to the inverter there is just no WiFi signal coming from the inverter for my phone to pick up . Has anyone experienced this? I had my installer in to look at it he suggests we send it in that’s fine I just don’t want to be without an inverter for 3 weeks plus.

Perhaps someone here knows of a fix or reset of sorts please help if you can. 😊

Kodak invertors are very problematic. I purchased mine from recommendations and are very dissapointed. Errors and problematic setups to F12 F11 and PV overvoltage even when their are no pv connected. Out of 4 only have 1 unit left. Do not even try to use utility with them it does not work no matter how you set it up. Any recommendation what to replace these Kodak units with that is more reliable.

Surpringly I am have actually experienced the opposite with Kodak in particular, and with the  Axpert MKSIII and MAX7. 2 in general. But having said that, my experiences are limited to a period of involvement in just under 3 years. So I am very keen to learn the reasons behind  why they are very problematic  from other members including yourself.

I have a Axpert clone MPS3kVA made in 11-2020 and one would expect a clone to have some problems. It is performing as it should be with only the battery charging from PV and AC grid not reaching 20A but maxing out at 16A when set to 20A. PV charging does reach 30A.

From a price point I rate it very highly and very satisfied. I do however never try to find it's top speed but stick to around 80% of maximum. For brief periods it might have worked at 90% during a test.

Hi, could I get some advise on settings 12 and 13 please. I have a kodak OG 10 inverter and 6x pylotech US2000B(2.4kw) batteries.

I want the batteries to discharge each night using the battery down to +-25% or as low as it can, then switch to utility. But I don't  want the batteries to charge by utility at all. I want it to wait until the sun is up the next day before recharging the batteries.

Usage is set to SBU.  Ideally it should then use only solar and utility for load until the battery is fully charged and the sun goes down. This is so the bettery can be used solily at night. My 16 is set to solar only.

Anyone managed to do this yet. Please help if you can.
