  1. With the sunsynk you could use the Aux port to achieve this automatically, switching on and off items based on SoC. It would require rewiring things though See here for a handy document explaining this : https://powerforum.co.za/topic/15371-sunsynk-aux-port-export-not-working-as-configured/?do=findComment&comment=146698
  2. Output source priority would change fine for me on kodak systems. Most settings would change fine, some required to be done twice then it would reflect. Solar assistant is worth it's weight in gold
  3. Solar assistant now sells orange pi's which do the job just as well, if not better than the original. Decent kit
  4. Try doing it again, sometimes I would experience this, repeating the change again immediately would implement it.
  5. We experience the same. According to the installer its normal on the sunsynks. Perhaps due to the capacitors or the like
  6. Glad to note that Deye/ Sunsynk reverted the firmware to the previous version, which has rectified the issue. Note: As per the clever people here on the forum, @Steve87 suggested that the issue is due to "solar export" being enabled, which was causing the issue when the generator was on , slight feed back into the generator and hence disrupting the frequency. This perhaps was a protection / feature on the later firmware that would cause the drop to protect the generator. Nevertheless as per Steves advice , to avoid this issue, we will be splitting the grid input and generator input and using the AUX port to avoid this in the future.
  7. What he is probably doing (which is what another installer tried to do with us in the past) is that he is using 'solar export' , which isn't allowed technically by the municipalities without registration, but if you have an old mechanical meter it will spin backwards. In that way your geyser etc will just be using the power you fed back into the grid. The problem is if they decide to change it for a digital meter, that plan won't work anymore, and that CT will be essential to feed solar to your non essentials
  8. @Steve87 is right there close to you in roodeport. Loadfed.co.za
  9. Make sure you keep that CT even if he refuses.. Get someone else to install

  11. Hi there. We are having a strange issue with a Sunsynk 16kw. 3 Phase power into the building, with a huge 170Kva generator installed with a change over switch, the inverter then handles one phase only, so if the generator is running the inverter picks it up as GRID power. Original firmware (no issues experienced for the one month or so the inverter was installed before the firmware upgrade) : M 9.0.1.4 / S 1.7.2.5 / C E.4.2.4 After an upgrade: M 9.0.2.2 / S 1.7.2.5 / C E.4.2.7 Since we did the upgrade , from the same day we started to have an issue with the grid frequency (Generator actually) dropping to 0 for a few seconds (as per Solar Assistant) , and thus the sunsynk disconnects from the grid, waits 60s, tries to reconnect, and this reoccurs frequently for the entire load shedding slot. I dont think its a generator issue, as the frequency drops right down to 0, as opposed to if it was slightly below the settings on the sunsynk. See attached screenshots. From 10am to 12pm the generator was switched on. As you can see it causes havoc with the UPSs and lights flickering etc. Any ideas? I've read some comments about doing a factory reset on the inverter, some saying N-E relay, some saying firmware update. Based on the issue starting just one day after the firmware update I'm leaning towards this being the issue.
  12. You have to press disconnect first, then choose it
  13. The end connector is a rj45 Works with voltronic rs232
  14. https://solar-assistant.io/shop/products/voltronic_rs232 Voltronic RS232 As per details above. All correct

@BritishRacingGreen you could try [email protected] they resellers of digikey and prices aren't bad, especially for small orders
  16. If you fast, @Steve87 is in durban for a few days
