  1. https://www.sonoffafrica.co.za/product/loadshedder/ Same thing
  2. https://www.geewiz.co.za/sonoff-products/187936-sonoff-load-shedding-detector-kit-with-instructions.html Have a look at that
  3. Yeah I think check time and time zones, both on inverter and on the solar assistant

  5. Item: Sonoff POW Elite R320D Age: New Price: 400 Packaging: original box Condition: unused Location: Durban Shipping: R50 pudo or 110 to door Link: https://www.sonoffafrica.co.za/product/sonoff-powr320d/
  6. Those system mode time slots are way out... Set them in order, starting at 0:00 or 1am like posted above.
  7. Which area are you in, we can suggest reputable installers
  8. I had some issues with unshielded lan cable, comms would cut off for a few seconds a few times a day, using shielded cable sorted it out
  9. This isn't a sunsynk / deye inverter from the looks of it (see device mode) , so don't expect to get this @flyfisherman. I would rely on what solar assistant themselves are saying.
  10. If you do that, it would be using the inverter in voltage mode basically. Not recommended when you have the facility of using SoC which is much more accurate. Voltage won't be accurate for switching back to grid power etc based on the SoC like the timer does. The inverter does pick up most of the battery info though, not the cycles etc, but what its needs, it picks up. Perhaps from time to time when you want to see the detailed info u could connect the battery to the pi directly and check. Looks like you Would have to disconnect it from the inverter, make sure the setting BMS_err_stop is disabled then otherwise your inverter will cut power.
  11. The same thing appears on the website If an inverter is already reading the Dyness battery, then SolarAssistant can not read the battery at the same time. The battery unfortunetely doesn't support being read from multiple devices at the same time. Set SolarAssistant to "Use inverter values" It won't work whilst the inverter is reading the battery like it is
  12. What would be the benefit of the sunsynk over the deye then? The supposed major benefit of the sunsynk was the local support... But if they all getting repaired together...
  13. It looks like it's only picking up the one battery, connect solar assistant to the master, and then ensure the batteries have the lan cable between them connected correctly, and the dip switches are correct as per the manual. Restart batteries after dip switch change.
  14. Hi @Leshen Can you confirm if the sunsynk user and training manuals have an error in the wording here (in bold) : Should it not be CANNOT? "All neutrals can be linked together to maintain the neutral bond. When a Neural Earth bond is required for an ‘Off-grid’ operation, then it has to be removed on ‘Grid-Tied’ operation. If an Earth Bond is required between neutral and earth and your system is a hybrid system, then you can have a permanent earth wire since this can cause faults with an RCD before the inverter. Since the inverter is a true hybrid, then the bond must only be made when the inverter is operating in Islanding Mode. To accommodate this, Sunsynk provides an AC output, which is connected to the A/T/S connections whenever the inverter is running on Island Mode. Therefore, you can simply connect the coil of an AC relay to the ATS 240 connections. "
  15. https://powerforum.co.za/topic/8338-high-pitched-noise-from-sunsynk-5-kw-inverter/page/5/ See here Request a firmware upgrade to v3384 specifically mentioning the noise, with the "remote grid change" to be done to change the sound to 20khz
  16. As others mentioned, on the sunsynk website where one requests the firmware upgrade, there's absolutely no mention of this.
  17. If you have further trouble tag in Mr Keith, they supposedly guarantee the repair will be concluded within 2 weeks
  18. I've done firmware upgrades successfully without switching off load. There was no mention of this from sunsynk. This was in the middle of the night though so loads of around 1kw.
  19. abd7 replied to Bloubul7's topic in Inverters
Yes that would also fix it
  20. In the sunsynk inverter grid settings there is a setting for 'reconnection time', and 'ramp rate', default is 60 seconds. May help you?
  21. The 'non essentials' are connected directly to the grid before the inverter. They dont go through the inverter at all. The way the inverter knows about them is by means of the CT coil. Thats how it pushes back extra PV to the non essentials.
  22. Non essentials will not be powered during load shedding. The export of PV to non essentials will only be when grid is available.
