  1. How much runtime are you able to get on those batteries alone? I am assuming you are completely off-grid?
  2. When i initially installed SA i remember that its figures for Grid did not include the inverter's own usage - so this may be part of the missing information
  3. mzezman replied to regbes's topic in Solar Assistant
Configuration > Advanced then change the details on the Solar PV section
  4. Shouldn't be a problem to run the loads during the day - 18kw of inverters should be fine for this
  5. Yeah you should be able to add it. Just make sure the 5000 is the master >> check this thread on MyBroadband
  6. Also been on Beta for most of my install and its worked great with no issues at all. Understand their logic - only wish it included free critical updates
  7. I second this - we need more information before we can come to any conclusion… was your inverter set to charge batteries from the grid? Was your geyser used more than normal?
  8. If i was in CPT i would but am up in JHB - but yeah it will be a push to get that amount - just helping to manage expectations - component prices have come down drastically
  9. GLWS Might want to adjust pricing as you can get brand new 550W for 1.5k
  10. @Phillipsolar I am in the same boat - you could sell off the 48100 and upgrade to another Dyness OR totally different brand. Those 48100s were popular so it might not be difficult to offload them. I also have 3 48100s and am keen to expand my bank - dont mind about 2nd hand batteries - just funds are not aligning at the moment
  11. Curious around the need / reason for upgrade? Could you not just add another one to expand the pack?
  12. check here >> https://www.solarwaysuppliers.co.za/product-category/solar-packages?query=cable
  13. ooooh..... ooooh..... so tempted!
  14. What issues are coming up? I checked the manual and Pylontech is not listed as a supported battery - i could be wrong though.
  15. Shouldn't the Luxpower still be under warranty?
  16. On the Solar Assistant site they state that Victron is currently NOT supported - perhaps its worth contacting them and seeing if the charge controller is.
  17. The system is setup and working as far as i can see. In terms of optimisation the only things I would consider changing are Unticking the Grid checkboxes in the System mode screen for the daylight hours - and then Change the SOC to be higher at the end of the day - this will charge your battery to that SOC for the evening shift so that you have more energy in the case of a power cut after dark
  18. I am assuming the system is already installed? So its just configuration based on your requirements? Ask here - there are lots of guys with good knowledge about SS setup and config - some installers on here as well that could chime in
  19. Check this thread > https://powerforum.co.za/topic/19279-deye-8kva-f23-fault/ Specifically the post by @TaliaB about earthing. Are the new panels earthed correctly?
  20. mzezman replied to W Scheepers's topic in Inverters
PV doesn't have to go to the 2nd inverter if it doesn't make sense, e.g. if you have less than 8 panels splitting them 4 / 4 may actually cause your production to be negatively impacted as the MPPTs will only wake up later in the day due to the low startup voltages. If you have more than 8 then it may make sense to split the string between the inverters For the battery if you can get a busbar now - it will make additional batteries easy to connect - so battery(ies) > busbar > disconnector > inverter(s). Make sure the inverters are on the same firmware version before connecting them up in parallel, mismatched firmware may cause issues in the parallel operation
  21. That is such a great price for 200Ah - almost too good to be true
  22. Ive gone back and did the number properly - my previous estimates were optimistic to say the least System installed December 2021 Solar generation since then - 25.9MWh Solar generation savings - R72k (using Tshwane block charges) Grid used - 11.5MWh Grid cost - R29k Battery discharge - 11.7MWh System cost me 185k all in done in 3 tranches (battery and panel upgrades) of 90, 45 and 50k. So I will have "saved" 50% of my system cost by the end of this year.
  23. Sounds like a potentially bad cell OR the batteries needing balancing. When was the last time you let them sit @ 100% in order to balance?
