  1. Please can someone maybe give me some advice and a rough guide on what I should set my time of charge settings too on my inverter? I just added a second battery to my setup so I have the following 8kw Deye inverter 2 x 3.68kwh 72ah greenrich batteries 10 x 545w panels We have the following appliances A gas stove top Electric oven used mainly between 6pm and 8pm Solar geyser using ev tubes Side by side fridge and freezer Pool pump Bar fridge Wine fridge we obviously only run the washing machines and dish washer during the day off of solar. These were the settings that were set when I only had the single 3,68kwh battery. What should I change the settings too? I obviously set the batt capacity to 144ah (72 x 2) Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Thanks a mil. I managed to get a Connex smart bulb and I use that to show that load-shedding is in progress. So it switches on when LS kicks in and off when it’s over.

  4. HI All Reviving this thread again to see if any of you boff's out there have some cool ideas. Anyone else got any other automation ideas to indicate to the family when there is load shedding so that they don't run any appliances that they shouldn't. Especially early in the morning? We spend most of our time in the lounge/kitchen. Running wires isn't an option as we have exposed trusses in the kitchen and it's "blocked"
  5. Just set it up with my key and it works well. Thanks for all of the assistance.
  6. aha thanks will try that.
  7. brilliant, thanks a mil. I was getting invalid token and found the info below on their website. I ran that and it worked. curl --location --request GET 'https://developer.sepush.co.za/business/2.0/areas_search?text=edenvale' \--header 'token: licence key'
  8. hi, how would you integrate it into HA? what would you do? would you be able to share your code? thanks
  9. ah ok, that's excellent news. thanks for that. Surely most products will have that anyway as they also have regulations and standards in their own countries. Although I've seen some dodgy looking imported stuff.
  10. Just a question, if you import circuit breakers and these devices etc. Will it not have an impact on your insurance if your put in a claim for any sort of electronic related issue like a lightning strike or fire? Don't they have to be SABS approved or whatever the SA electric board is called? Thanks
  11. thanks a mil, yes I saw that i realised that i need to connect them in series and was also made aware of the longer changing time. Any idea where i can get the cables to bridge the batteries?
  12. exactly what i'm going to do now.
  13. do garage motors and gat motors normally use the same batteries? Yes i'm clueless 😀 thanks for the reply. Here is a pic of the battery. guys are saying it's better to take 2 x 12v 7ah batteries and pair them and apparently it will work well and last longer.

  15. i bought 1 to start off my solar journey with the intention of adding more. I've had it installed since March this year and I'm super impressed. Works like a charm with my deye inverter. Me likey lots.!!!!!!

  17. thanks a mil, appreciate it. I'll take a look and modify what i want to use etc.
  18. Hi @Sc00bs Are you able to export this flow and share it with me please? Thanks Brett
  19. Hi Gents Hope you or anyone else can assist. I setup she solar-assistant software yesterday and I set everything up and it is working like a charm. It’s on it’s own raspberry PI3B. I then have another raspberry PI4 which is running HA and Node-Red. I managed to find my Deye inverter and all of the settings in HA and I created and entity card with the required settings. I would like to set it up to talk to Node-Red on the RPI4 where my HA install is. So I enabled the MQTT from the Solar-Assistant side however I need assistance with the Node-Red setup in my HA installation. I’m pretty new to Node-red and there isn’t documentation on the solar-assistant website on how to do it. It did say coming soon 😊 though, not sure how long that coming soon has been there.
  20. Thanks so much for the answers. It’s such a tricky one especially because the geyserwise can’t be programmed. I’m thinking of programming multiple times into the geyserwise and then defaulting them all to off except for the std ones. Then if loadshedding happens in the default time slot then I can program one of the other schedules to come on so I work around the loadshedding. With my kak knowledge of HA and NR it’s going to be a bit of a challenge but I’ll try to figure it out. I have @bloubul’s flows too but HA isn’t showing all of the sensors so still messing with that. thanks again gents.
  21. How do you guys run your CBI Astute in conjunction with your geyserwise and solar? e.g. My EV tube solar geyser comes on between 4am and 5am just to ensure that I have enough hot water for the wife via a timer on the geyserwise. However if there is loadshedding I don’t want the geyser to come on because it will kill my battery. So how do you change the geyser to come on at an earlier or later time?
  22. 😆😆😆😆😆, thanks for the response/s I wish i was generating 6.5 MWh i'd be rich. here are my settings in HA also must i ignore this message in Node Red or does it mean there is something missing in my deployment?
  23. Hi Gents can any of you HA fundi's out there advise why my energy values are incorrect? there is no way that my solar is generating 6,5KW and also that i'm using 14,6KW from the grid as per below. Also is this an issue or is it normal in node red? If it's an issue how do I fix it? also can someone please send me the node-red flow with the whatsapp portion in it? Thanks Brett
  24. I'm having the same issues with my DEYE 8kw inverter. I eventually just gave up. Pretty much getting the same as what you are getting above. I get this 1st as per below. ############################################################ "No response on the Modbus interface, try checking the wiring to the Inverter, the USB-to-RS485 converter, etc" ############################################################ and then i sometimes get the below with my inverter serial number ############################################################ Inverter serial number '2315xxxxxx' ############################################################ I wonder if this info below would make any difference? I don't know anything about the coding or if it is even relevant to the code, but they are saying there are differences between the 5KW and the 8KW. maybe the code has to read each one differently????? Who knows. I have an 8KW inverter. "Another confusion is that the 5.5kw and the 8.8kw does not use the same markings for connecting up the GEN/GRID/LOAD." 8.8kw is GRID/GEN/LOAD 5.5kw is GEN/LOAD/GRID 8.8kw is X/N/L 5.5kw is L/N/E
  25. Hi WOW, your installation looks amazing! What is that conduit called and where did you get it? Thanks Brett
