  1. My guess here would be that there is a ground leak. You will need to test for this, or get a sparky to test.
  2. There is no bleeding of the battery into the array. The panels have a open circuit voltage, but the MPPT just brings down the voltage for readiness checks. There are no cause for concerns at the voltages you mentioned.

  5. They are definitely pushing to be the market leader. I have seen some videos on their app, which is state of the art compared to any other brand. The option to select priority with a simple drag and drop order is also simply amazing. I think you made a great choice.
  6. I am struggling to find the question, since you stated there were no errors. The voltage that was reached is pretty high for a 15 cell pack, max should be 54.75, and safe 51.75 You might have destroyed the longevity of the pack, and potentially severely brought down the overall AH. Perhaps send it into a service center and have then investigate, if only one cell is damaged, and they can replace it before the rest gets damaged, that might be wise.
  7. You mention the voltage of 48v after rest, but the important voltage is when the trip occurs. The pack can only be as strong as it's weakest link. The perhaps check your settings as well at which voltage it is set at for low charge. As mentioned previously, if the wiring is too thin, it will cause issues.
  8. I wouldn't change anything manually. The BMS is there to protect the battery, and it will tell the inverter what the max discharge and charge amps are. When you manually adjust things around, you might just inadvertently change the behavior of the inverter, which might already account for this since it knows what the SOH is. Even with that, it just simply doesn't care. It only cares about tbe voltage, the SOC, and what the BMS tells it. If the BMS says no more discharge, then there is no more discharge. Same with charging. If the BMS thinks the power draw is too much, it will send the inverter a warning etc. You get the point.
  9. Do the sunsynks not adhere to the SOC from the BMS? Im my view SOH is just a FYI measurement. Everything else is handled by the BMS, which informs the inverter what charge it wants, and how much the inverter can still use.
  10. Are you trying to do a SSEG application? Or trying to get an unapproved machine on the approved list? Aka/ manufacturer. If SSEG, just type into google SSEG application forms for your area.
  11. Maybe get in touch here: Being brand bound is a bit of a run around when it comes to add more storage. A possible solution is to figure out the BMS it uses, and just get batteries with the same BMS. Then, you also have the option of just fitting a known BMS.
  12. I think they are forcing the service fee via the meters. But like you said, this will not stop individuals from bridging the meter, and buying the bare minimum units monthly.

  14. I personally am I fan of the Solis brand. Considering that, I would suggest the Solis S6 8kw Here is why.   15. The cable needs to be sized according to the power/amps you will be pulling at the worst case scenario, towards the busbar. If money isn't an option, and safety is the main concern, use the same sized towards the battery. This will account for times where batteries are taken out of the group for maintenance/service etc. As for isolators, I have one on each battery. For the same reason as above. Out of curiosity, what is the peak draw? And average consumption? Edit: 50mm cabling per battery (200a) 70mm per inverter

Batteries are only as good as their local support, or your technical knowledge. Just a note of caution. There are a lot of scam websites floating around, do not try and find too good to be true deals, as it might bite you.
  17. As @Beat mentioned, most of these issues typically are related to loose connections, or balancing issues. Since it was already rebalanced, it's probably a loose connection. A good way to diagnose it, is if the lowest cell is always consistently the same when top balancing it, or when reaching a full charge. This is mainly why I can never get behind off the shelve batteries. Fixing a simple issues voids your warranty, and retightening the nuts is a maintenance item.

  19. So the below article touches on what I have been suspecting all along, it doesn't make it true, but one has to wonder. This has been my first month not neededing the grid, and also not pushing back. So eskom isn't getting free solar from me anymore. To make matters worse for them, they have now started forcing all residents in my area to have the old meters replaced with the new conlog meters, which in turn will give them even less free power. I do suspect the the users that were pushing back will probably also look at expanding their battery pretty soon. It's just a nadty ouroboros at the moment, where eskom is creating more havoc for themselves. Another observation. Since after the major drive to remove old meters, and replacement with prepaid, load shedding started up again. But, this could also be due to the past cloudy days.   20. It might just be conspiracy theories. My Solis had what seemed to be a simcard, I left it as is. They do not need hidden coms to shut them down, since the majority are connected via wifi/ethernet. If concerned, delete the dongles, use rs485 or waveshare, either via home assistant or other preferred method. The security of the BMSes are a much bigger concern, since none of them are secured on bluetooth. Any bad actor can access them, shut them down, change OVP etc, just by being close enough.
  21. I can also recommend the aboce mentioned Solis, it does have internal fans, but it only kicks in when it's necessary. It also doesn't feedback when backflow power is set to 0.
  22. Here is mine for yesterday. Base load when everyone is asleep is sround 350-400w. Also a lot of tech running, but all rather efficient. The largest consumer during the night is an AMD epyc server, although very energy efficient. The biggest spike of the day in the morning is the coffee machine. Fridge averages out to around 50w Batteries are around 70% before solar charges again. Here is the graph for the last week
  23. Paying an entity simply because it exists is ludicrous. If paying it for making sure there is supply, then there should be SLAs and contracts as well, which stipulates penalties. Luckily, I have been offgrid for the last month, just need to add a small genset for overcast days.
  24. I would personally do option 1, it adds redundancy in case of 1 inverter failing, as well as give you 2 additional MPPTs
