    As flooded are meant to be topped up with water their bulk value is normally higher as they enter into a gassing state. This you want to prevent with gel. I would then rather use the user settings with the 3 settings as I indicated.

    These would be my starting point. 29 would be the most important setting to prevent killing the batteries in 9 months. 
    When getting error 4 reduce the load as it warns that the battery is getting to a low SOC. 
    Setting 5 might be OK but some levels might give you a short life out of them.

    Refer to the values that are normally printed on the battery by the manufacturer. 
    You can also under battery type just use the gel profile instead of user settings where you have to specify the values for bulk, float etc.

    Sorry to hear of your ordeal. 
    You don't give enough information with respect to the sizes of your pure lead acids or the load you subjected them to. If you used 4x100Ah lead acid batteries they were good for less than 1 hour if you had a 5kW load during LS. 
    What one can point out if lead acids had to provide a load for 6 hrs during stage 6 you over discharged them and that will be a major part of them dying. I don't know the inverter so I cannot comment on it. 
    Further if a Axpert is set up correctly for the type of battery used they can perform very well. 
    Lastly you cannot expect a Axpert at less than 40% of the price of a Deye to have the same very good features/performance of a Deye. A VW can never be compared to a Porsche. 
    Here are many members myself included that are getting good service from Axperts or Axpert type inverters. 
    Not all inverters are equal.

    As per the linked page...
    Note: Fan comes on during charging and load shedding. Once batteries are fully charged, unit is SILENT
    so, when it is working (charging the battery or discharging the battery) the fan will run, if you let Eksdom supply the power and the battery is full, then it should be quiet... *** but if you're running off the solar side, all 1200W of it, then the fan may still run, maybe, don't know anyone who has one of these, assume it will make noise, regularly...

    when people always show up in Porsches only (Lithium’s) , peeps driving corollas tend to shy away! Well if your Corolla does the job and is reliable, why not create a song and dance about it!

    We installed a 8KW Sunsynk inverter mid 2022.  The app stopped working after a short while and no response as to a fix to the problem was forthcoming.  In Dec 2022 the system stopped working.  It was removed by our installer and sent back to Sunsynk for a warranty repair.  This morning 17 April our installer received an email to advise that they will get back to us on an update as to where we are in the “queue” for repairs. 
    This is the worst service we have ever received and although the product might be good the after sales support and assistance is in my opinion disgraceful.
    I advise anyone wanting to purchase a solar system to look elsewhere

    They used to when Shabir was the head technician but they fired him. Having been there last week, there is around 200 inverters waiting to be repaired so I don’t think the 2 week timeframe is realistic.

    Just my experience with my growatt repair. Took it to the supplier namely ellyehillpower.co.za. tested and repaired while I waited. less that 1 hour, repair done (easy, slow and comfortable) asked how they have done it so quick, answer plain and simple. replace faulty board. they have spares of all kind of Growatt boards. The faulty boards then go to the electronic repair shop, repaired at component level and returned to the service workshop to be used again. Why can't Sunsynk do something similar?

    If you have the cash..go with Victron. Alternatively look at the more cost effective units like Growatt or Luxpower.

    I am shocked by these reports.
    My 8kw Sunsynk has been going well for two years now with no problems.
    If you want to sink any brand it must get a bad name from South African consumers.
    There are plenty of car manufacturers who can vouch for this.  
    I wish Sunsynk well for their venture into Australia as they don’t have our patience.
    Oh, and the Aussies read our forums.
    Keith would do well to take action in this market.
    My brother had a not so good repair experience with Deye recently - will I recommend it. Obviously not …

    As a Sunsynk installer, I have also had to wait for up to 2 months for feedback from Sunsynk regarding a repair. My main issue is that they there is no communication from them whatsoever. You can Email/WhatsApp and no response whatsoever. Their generic promise is  3-4 weeks when you hand an inverter in, but that’s never been my experience. 
     
    They also have no way of initially determining whether a fault is a factory fault or a fault caused by poor installation. So if your inverter gets installed and on day 1 has an issue due to a factory fault, that inverter goes to the back of a queue with every other unit that’s in the repair centre and it only gets looked at when it’s at the front of the queue. 
     
    So as much as I would like to believe the 2 weeks promise, it’s never happened in my experience.

    So:
    1) the consumers choice is between 'repair or replace' or 'refund', NOT 'repair', 'replace' or 'refund'.  So it is the sellers choice to 'repair or replace', unless you request the 'refund' option.
    2) In the case where the goods were returned a 2nd time for the same fault, the seller has only TWO choices - 'replace' or 'refund'.
    3) Any other warranties are in addition to the basic CPA warranty clauses and can not replace them.

    If the issue occurred within 6 months of the purchase, then it's your right to determine whether you want to Replace, Repair or Refund. 

    If you choose Repair, and the repair is not successful then the provider may choose to Replace or Refund.

    I almost always opt for Replace.

    Priorities, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. This is not a perfect world, but it's great to see how Powerforum serves its members, providing a platform to raise these kind of issues. Also that some suppliers value their name and brand to the extent that they address the issues swiftly.

    The 8k has some fans and should be installed away from living areas - like in your garage.
    The NRS certification is done independently. Sunsynk is sold in UK, EU, US, OZ and many other places that have stricter rules - under the brands Sunsynk, Deye & Sol-Ark
    Most people very happy with the SunSynk/Deye inverters.
    When is the high pitched sound? It it all the time or during load shedding or when charging or when PV is at maximum load is it when discharging or etc...
    1.Never heard of the high pitched issue before.
    2.Try Victron - they make some excellent inverters.

    An good inverter should not be switching at an audible frequency. I know I would also be very unhappy about 15kHz being broadcast all over my house.

    I also have sensitive hearing.. Lucky then that I ended up with a voltronic inverter, prior to finding out from these forums that sunsynk is better

    Tricky. There is grey market equipment on the market, and often the only time you know you've bought grey market is when you need service. So ask whoever you're buying from who the wholesaler is and verify that they offer support and warranties.

    I forget the details now, but I'm pretty sure that there is a different estimation of battery SOC (based on battery voltage alone) when in line/bypass mode or battery mode. So a sudden change in SOC when the mode changes is not unexpected.
    No, this is a quirk of the SOC estimation. It won't affect how soon the battery voltage drops to a critical level.
    You might need to further reduce the low battery cutoff setting (setting 29), to prevent things like sudden short-term loads (e.g. motors starting) from causing the inverter to drop out.

    The last of these (setting 29, low battery cutoff voltage) is your major problem. You are basically saying that when the battery modules fall to 12.9 V each, that's emergency cutoff time, shut down immediately. But they are probably sitting at 12.7 V or so nearly fully charged, so that's no good. You need to set that to at most 23.0 V; then the battery low warning should not happen until the battery is at 24.0 V (and it should switch to mains at that point, if available). See FAQ 1.
    Setting 27 (float voltage) should be around 2.25 V per cell (from the specs), so that's 27.0 V. 28 V is 2.33 V per cell, over the "standby use" (code for floating voltage) specification. Setting 26 is OK for your battery type.
    I would leave settings 02 and 11 on 30 A, since your battery is rated to accept this, and you may need to charge as quickly as possible with frequent load shedding.
    The premature float bug should not bother you if you are only charging from AC-in.
