August 25, 20196 yr Eish. My supplier says there should be no issues using Pylon3000 with a GW5048D-ES. Firmware 12123. SN does start with a 9. This is after I have asked him many times to confirm. Just shows you. Ok, so first recommended step is to update firmware to 151508? But then I suspect there is still no selection option for the Pylon3000, thus you have to select what? I am running General mode, self use first. Would like to get the most I can out of the battery The box is not opened yet, so should I rather aim for Pylon2000Plus, as these are supported?

I've done firmware upgrades a few times in the past, some successful, others basically turned the inverter into a blue doorstop. But Goodwe's support via email has been very good and they really keep trying to help until the problem is solved. The Ezconverter solved our battery communication problem and everything is working fine. I still have the battery as "self-defined" as the US3000 is not an option but ultimately I don't think it really matters. The Pylontech communicates it's SoC and charge/discharge capacity to the Goodwe and that is really all that is really important. As far as I know, the SN 9 models are the newer "ARM" models which should be able to communicate directly with the Pylontech. If not, I'd suggest a firmware update. Failing that an EzConverter. I don't think a US2000 will communicate with the Goodwe any easier than the US3000.
August 27, 20196 yr Well, not good news. Contacted Goodwe support. They told me to contact my supplier directly? Contacted my supplier, and they basically referred me back to the upgrade procedure here from Sengen Solar. Bad news is that the upgrade fail and now I have a blue brick Hoping my supplier can help me......

August 29, 20196 yr Finally some good news and feedback from my side. The fist time I tried the software upgrade, I only had the batteries connected. As my batteries is nearly dead, perhaps this was why the upgrade failed? After connecting both solar PV and the batteries, the upgrade worked first time. After the upgrade, I was still unable to select Pylon US3000 battery. Finally figured out it was EzManage app issue. Used PV Master app and all good. The connected the coms also failed as suggested by my supplier. Battery to CAN and Invertor to CAN. Only once Invertor end was connected to BMS did everything start to work correctly. I must say it was an extremely stressful exercise. Extremely relieved all working now.
August 29, 20196 yr Author Glad to hear it's working. It seems that is the way things go with Goodwe. There are (stressful) hiccups but in the end every works. Strangely enough, US3000 is still not available on my PV Master app.
October 16, 20196 yr Hi there, I have an ES 4.6kW Hybrid Inverter connected to 2 Pylon Tech US3000 batteries. The system is working fine. I now want to add a 3rd Pylon Tech battery. Hooking it up physically looks relatively simple however Im not sure of what needs to be done software wise to tell the Inverter there are 3 batteries. Is it just a case of selecting US3000*3 on the PV master app?

The batteries tell the Goodwe what the maximum draw and charge current is. Even if they don't communicate, the batteries will limit the charge and discharge current. I'm not sure changing the type/ number of battery actually have any impact. I'm still on a "self-defined" battery. Just FYI, my understanding is that the new battery should be the master, not one of the older ones.

September 9, 20205 yr Can you share the dip switch settings? I have no manual with the EZConverter. Thanks Paul
September 9, 20205 yr Thanks Niel. I tried that - nothing happened. The only way I got it to work was 4,5 on and the others off? LG battery apparently.
September 11, 20205 yr Hi, I have recently setup up my system (Goodwe 5048ES, 1x Pylontech US3000, 10x JASolar 405W panels). System works well and delivered 24-25 kWh/day this week. I do however have one more issue to resolve. SOC: the battery charges up to 88% only. Discharged to down to 10% and recharged again. Same results. Discharge stats from SEMS site indicates that 2886Wh was delivered. Fairly close to 78% (88-10%)of 3552Wh in spec. Thus the 88% indication seems correct. PVMaster works OK for setup and SEMS for online monitoring. Did anybody achieve SoC above 95%? System settings? Thank you
September 12, 20205 yr I started off with 2 * pylontech US2000's and 8 * 405W JA Solar panels on that same inverter. By 12'ish batteries were fully charged (SOC=100%). Are you sure the Goodwe is communicating with the batteries correctly? I've now added another 8 panels and two more US2000 batteries and the whole lot is charged just after 11am most days. As a rule, I let the batteries discharge at 12% after 5pm till 7am in the morning. I have a constant draw of around 750W at night, and set my DoD to 70% (SOC 30%) in order to have a bit of reserve for loadshedding in the morning. The way it's set up now the batteries last till around 4'ish in the morning. If, however, loadshedding should start it's set for a DoD of 89% (which is the recommended cutoff from Pylontech) I've attached screenshots for reference. The charge and discharge values comes from the BMS in the Pylons, you can't (nor should you) change these EDIT: Looking at your graph, it seems like you're charging batteries with Grid? What is your operating mode set at? see below I graph I took this morning. You can see the batteries charging the moment solar becomes available. Edited September 12, 20205 yr by gbyleveldt
September 12, 20205 yr Thank you for the response. System "normalised" a reason which I am still investigating. Wil give proper feedback once I understand the sequence of events.

It looks like you are feeding back to the grid. Where is the 'grid meter' located in your setup? Do you have loads 'in front' of it? What mode are you on in PV Master? Think I am on general mode and feedback to grid is set to 0. Always achieve 100% SOC
