With reference to Windows 11 there are not many around here that I think have it installed, it is very new and many things are being polished. In principle it should be compatible, there is always the option to inform the Windows 11 operating system that this software worked fine with an older version of Windows. November 25, 20214 yr Hi Cef. Thanks a lot again. Works fine, just an issue with the size of the letters in W11. I took a screenshot. I tried also compatibility mode W8 while compatibly mode in W11 ends with W8. This did not change the letter size issue. I can not remember this to happen with W10 and the 3.10 Version. While I have still the drive with W10 and 3.10 available, I will install it and will have a look. While it dark here in Germany, I will have a look tomorrow, if there is hopefully some sunshine around. Speak to you Niels

November 30, 20214 yr Author Hi @Barry de Kock Please read the file .txt and the instructions for the version. The "warning" advise. You are executing the .exe (3.4 version) with the "settings" file of previus version (3.0..). The only files that you can copy from the old version to the new version's \Data directory are the "history", "energy" and "parameters" file. With reference to your query, in the "configuration" tab you can enter the numerical Denomination of up to 3 digits of the currency of your country (R, u$s, ...) and enter the Unit Value of the kWh of the Imported from grid, as well as the unit value of the kWh of Export to the grid. In the "Comparative statistics" tab, you can see the product of these values by the Wh, kWh and mWh that correspond to the Grid Imported, Grid Exported and solar energy (taking the GRID import value). The system displays the table of current and previous values for hour, day, month, and year. Everything you need at a glance. Of course, some of the values shown will only make sense if you perform Continuous Monitoring 24 hours / days / Months / Years. Very good your suggestion with reference to the historical Table of Energy Values that change over time, it is something useful for those countries whose monetary stability is not good (monetary inflation). I will implement it at some point. For now, in those cases, the suggestion would be to reference the unit energy values to a more stable currency. December 10, 20214 yr Awesome application. Much better than a device mounted LCD that dictates standing in the garage watching a local screen. I can now monitor my system live from any remote location with instantaneous data instead of roughly 1 minute delays on the SEMS Portal. More info than I need (and maybe understand) but brilliant all the same. Just a pity i can't get the run time installed on a tablet. Thanks for all the time you clearly put into this development Cef. Much appreciated.

I need to spend more time understanding the data, but a couple of comments/observations I installed v 3.4 this morning 11 Dec 21 about 09h00 on my desktop running Windows 10, for some reason I cant close the application and have to do it via task manager. I have a similar problem when I maximise the view in DB, once maximised I cant minimise and get to any of the options below the display. The export function works well, the volume of data, terrifing, not sure how I will use it. I'm a bit stumped by the data needed in the parameters section and the settings for my pylontechs but hopefuly with googles help may be able to complete it.... I've noticed that the software schema also capture the same strange behaviour that I've seen in SEMS where the battery discharges a small load (say 20 to 350 watt) while at the same time signifcant power is being fed into the grid from the solar panels and home consumption is also satisfied from solar panels. with your software I see it fluctuates quite a bit with outflows followed by inflows.

Many things emerge from the screenshot you make and your question. It would be good if you told us first in which operating mode the inverter is configured. From what you can see on the screen, it may be the general mode. If so, do you really want to export your PV surplus to the grid? You have the DOD On Grid set to 8% !!! Is that done on purpose? Did you set up Goodwe yourself using PV Master or did your installer do it for you when you set up your PV system? Finally a very high load is observed at 10:57:17. I imagine it must have been the starting spike of some motor that is not connected to non-essential loads. If you do not know what it is, you can go to both the warning Event Logs and the second-by-second historical operation Log that is kept for 72 hours. Remember that loads above the inverter rating and up to 6900 volts / amp can only be held for 10 seconds for the 5048ES without a trip condition appearing. We look forward to helping you. Regards ! December 13, 20214 yr Hi Cef Thanks for the feedback/response My feedback Yes the inverter is in general mode. The DOD was initially set at 50% by the installer. I found I could reduce the DOD on grid to 5%, previously the software limited this to 10% At this point I need to clarify a couple of things, our towns electrical infra structure fails regularly, at the beginning of the year we had about 7 days without power due to the main transformer burning down, add to that Eskoms supply. My objective is to to keep my batteries at the highest charge possible. I've also moved everything except the oven onto the PV DB board, so there is a 20 amp limit for the house (I can bypass the inverter if required on the PV DB board). We manage the loads, the dishwasher is more difficult to control as at some stage during its cleaning cycle it draws lots of power to heat the water, I suspect that is what happened at 10:57. With your software I've noticed there are more high energy draws. At the moment I use about 35% of the PV power generated by the system. If not connected to the grid I would not be able to utilise the balance, unless I made extensive use of batteries, timers and management systems . On average I generate 20 kWh per day and use 24 kWh Our municipality is under administration and disfunctional, I am able to supply power to the grid with no cost differential. The regular power failures experienced provided the motivation to move all appliances/plugs onto the DB board for PV to allow utilisation of power being generated. The following not applicable to your software but questions/statement regarding the Goodwe and batteries, if you can help it would be appreciated otherwise I could move to general forum? The Goodwe software/data does not provide good information on battery useage. I see there are 2 powerbat fields in your output, the challenge would be to summarise the data. Goodwe introduced a field Output which in my case is mostly lower than PV, seems related to battery use and being connected to the grid, (screenprint below). PV generated for 1st 2nd during cloudy conditions low, output shown as 0, no power from grid). Although PV gets generated no consumption is shown day 01, 02, and 03. Does not look like power from battery is factored in. I think consumption is based on energy flow recorded by Goodwe meter where my municipal electricity meter is installed. Would be nice to be able to extract information on power produced and used while grid was down. Also apparently using battery power while there is lots of solar being generated, is there a way to stop it? Is there a way to summarise logged data? Goodwe logs every 5 min
December 13, 20214 yr Author Hi @BGb I think we can take care of it here, since the information that this software gives you is not given by the SEM and if you leave it running for a few days you can have a good profile of the energy behavior of your home. If I didn't get it wrong, from what it reports, it seems its main drawback is Eskoms power outages. I'm still not sure if you are interested in exporting your surplus PV to GRID or not. A.) You are interested in exporting your surplus PV to the grid because it has some kind of economic benefit (net balance) A1.) You can leave the system in general mode. In this mode when you have mains power there is no way to my knowledge that the batteries will not discharge according to the instantaneous requirements. What if you could do is set your DOD ON GRID to just 1%, so that your Pylontech barely downloads and is ready to withstand one of the frequent grid outages you mention (you would always have at least 99% of the SOC ). A2.) If your Pylontech is US3000C, you can set the DOD OFF GRID to 95%, otherwise the older models to 90% B.) You are not interested or you do not care if you Export Surpluses to the grid or not B1.) I would put the Inverter in BACK UP Mode so as not to complicate a little more with the Economic Mode (for me the best, since if they are configured correctly the battery charge and discharge profiles cover, I think, "almost" all possible scenarios). In BACK UP mode you forget the DOD ON GRID parameter, it no longer makes sense. And it's perfect for unexpected power outages on the grid. Batteries will only discharge in the event of a power failure. B2.) I would set DOD OFF GRID to 90 or 95% B3.) In any of the Modes (General, Back Up, Economic ...) When there is enough PV Power, the Goodwe not only provides power to the Essential Loads, it also charges the batteries and the surplus is ALWAYS used to power the NON-essential Loads For example, being in general mode: The Dishwasher, assuming that its batteries are 100% charged, and the washing machine had it connected to Non-Essential Loads and if it consumes, let's assume 2,000 Watts and if at 10:57:17 it had 5,500 Watts of PV Power, because its loads essential at that time would have been 3050 watts (5050 - 2000) and its nonessential load about 2000 watts (for the example) shown in my software with a purple color and a line of the same color. ALL POWERED BY PV (The sum) If your PV power was 5500 watts, it would leave you with a surplus of 450 watts that would be exported to the grid. The RAW data you export is roughly every second you get from the .cvs spreadsheet. Google ...😃😃👌 can help you use functions like grouping them however you want (they are simple averages). Currently, the software groups in a standard way the consumptions (Essential Charges, Non-Essential Charges, Battery Charges and Exported Energy) and the contributions (Imported Energy, Battery Discharge and PV Energy) accumulating and updating the totalizers every 45 seconds the current Hour . , Previous hour, day, month and year. December 18, 20214 yr Hi Cef Thanks for response and feedback I do run the inverter in General mode, feeding back into the grid reduces my power consumption and hence my monthly electrical account. I've not recently had a need to use any of the other modes, i have in the past used the off grid mode, when we tripped the system while the grid was down. I've left your software running the past week and it has warned me a couple of times of imminent shutdowns, the siren gets your attention! Latest this morning when kettle, toaster, microwave was going at the same time on top of "normal" household use of about 500 w. Thanks for that, its a nice feature.

Queria preguntar si habria alguna forma de recoger datos de producción, generación, exportacion etc. a traves de ethernet desde node-red, o alguna otra forma para poder tratar esos datos para activar cargas o desactivarlas en funcion de la produccion o excedentes, tambien queria preguntar si a alguien le ha pasado, que cuando el inversor trabaja con bateria la intensidad maxima suministrada por la bateria en Dc es de 20.4A. Tambien preguntarle a CEF, si al sotfware desarrollado por el, se le pueden extraer estos valores en forma de texto o alguna otra forma. Gracias.

January 31, 20224 yr Instantaneous (no login), real-time data (way more than PV or SEMS gives you, extractable to file, history of performance and parameters, a system tray icon that gives you SOC%, a friendly dev. The list goes on and on! Worth a try.

I don't know anything about Node Red. Regarding your query about the possibility of connecting or disconnecting loads based on solar production, I would like to tell you that in this same project, in Version 5.0 I hope to add Event control and Relay Board so that the User, through logical conditions of the electrical variables can do what you ask, be it sending mails, visual / auditory alerts and control of relays.
