Hi I am helping a friend install a system at his new house. The DB board is in a cupboard in the kitchen. So we are debating where to put the inverter and battery. One option is to just install the Inverter /battery back to back with the wall the DB is in. But this will then be outside. Based on some forum members’ experience, is this advisable? And what enclosures did you guys use? Thanks in advance.

  3. Anyone know what the battery selection of CFE'S are on page3 of battery setup on the Deye

So an interesting case study here. So 3 phase Eskom Supply. Customer opted for a Sunsynk at first but expressed concern on the High pitched frequency sound that it might emit. So we had a long back & fourth & got to the good conclusion of the Kodak OG10. So context here: 3 phase but will install a Single phase inverter. So some phase work to get all the essentials onto a single phase. Then leave some Non-essentials on the Grid side splits amongst the 3 phases. A combination of a flat concrete roof & some corrugated sheet. So we embarked on the journey of the Kodak OG10, FreedomWon 10/8 & 10 x LONGi 480w Monos. Unfortunately with suppl…

Hi All, after much research, discussion and help from this forum I have completed my wiring diagram for my home installation. I believe it meets South African safety standards and the SunsynK hybrid inverter. Your comments are welcome. I will post the parts list as soon as I have completed it. After installation I will add a report. Thank for your help.

I have not had correct battery discharge for over 1 year. The installer wont questions only wants money for installing. It is ERROR 3 on the Lux 3600 hybrid. Changed CAN cable pylontech to lux as have 5000 and 3000c. Lux say it is CT Clamp, 1st one on mains looks ok, 2nd to inverter from Lux is housed on + inside the isolator which seems odd. Is it likely to be this, is it possibly broken, can i move elsewhere eg on 2 string + PV lines? thanks Lux Hybrid 3600, 6.2kw JA, Growatt inv, 3 x 3000c, 3 x US5000 parallel pylontech.

Sorry about the title - seems to be a forum rib of sorts ? Anyway here is my install - was quite challenging doing it all myself with little solar experience. Silly things like just getting inverter on the wall (thing ways a ton) , thank goodness for climbing gear and pulleys, made it a steep learning curve. Hopefully the forum wolves will be kind though . System :Victron Inverter - Quattro 10000va / Victron 250/100 SmartSolar MPPT / 20 x 330 Watt Canadian Solar / Victron BMV702 / Revov 10 kWh / Venus GX running ESS / ET112 Grid Meter / Home Assistant Integration. In case you wondering system is limited that it can’t feed more than 4.6kW into grid. …

1 x Growatt SPF 5000ES Inverter 2 x A48100 - Dyness 4,8KWH LI-ION Batteries 8 x JA-545W JA Solar Panels Original installation only had 1 battery added a second last month, this is used in an office environment, mostly PC's and lights, gate motor, alarm and CCTV running of here. Small kitchen + aircons run of Eskom, we also have a big Diesel generator in case. Happy so far but wish we put in a better inverter one time, maybe a 8KW and if we could add more panels, with the rains + erratic loadshedding schedules recently we suffered with solar production and used a lot more grid power in last 2 weeks…

  13. Hi guys. What a fantastic forum this is and I have been researching this solar system setup for the better part of 2 years now, while building up the funds. 1 x Sunsynk 8kw hybrid inverter (latest wifi dongle included) Stunning interface I must add. Gives a lot of graphs with plenty info. 2 x Hubble am-2 5.5kwh lithium batteries 16 x 455w ja mono panels (pushing much more than rated I might add.) Installation by Cudub Holdings - very neat installer and installed in 2 days flat. With hubble delaying the battery install as they had stock take month end. @system32 helped with the final decision from his post on his system, together with ma…

The time had come to ditch some of my household's dependance on Eskom. Main install completed on the 31st of January (northern suburbs, Cape Town). The second battery was added on the 11th of February. Here is the kit used: 1 x Sunsynk 5.5kW Inverter 2 x Sunsynk 5.12kWh Batteries 12 x JA Solar 460W Panels Six panels are facing east, and the other six panels are facing north. All plugs and lights in the main house are on the essential load, plus some plugs and lights in a wendy-house on my property. Geysers, jacuzzi, irrigation, large air-con, stove and flat are on non-essential load.

  15. This installation has come a very long way & has been a very progressive project. It's started close to 8 months ago with Pylontech Force L1 batteries & inverters that constantly tripped almost daily with all sorts of issues. So over this period we have warranty claimed on the Pylontechs that were honoured by the supplier & the value was close to R110k or so. We replaced the Pylontechs with 2 X 10/8 FreedomWons and over a period of time this has grown to 50kWh. We had to remove 13 x 275W JA Solar panels & re-home them on a East/ West orientation. Then lay 10x Canadian Solar Monos 545W on the North face in the same position as the older panels. …

I posted on the forum a while back to get advice and changed my initial plans a bit and started off with Inverter and battery in stead of Inverter and panels, i will now add panels as funds come in. Here is the install so far.

Installed our old inverters at my brothers house along with our 3 'old' lithium batteries. 2 x TheSunPays 4kw Axpert Clones 3 x TheSunPays 4.8kw LiFePO4 batteries Still need to label everything and install the changeover switch. Electrician will come in to do hook up to DB board, final commissioning and CoC. 4 x 60A isolators on the bottom left are AC IN and AC OUT isolators per inverter so that should we need to service each inverter individually while the other remains in operation, we can do so safely, something I see missing in most installs. Many installs I've see require you to either shut down Grid completely or the entire system if work on 1 inverter…

  18. Sunsynk 8kw, 2 x 10kw Sunsynk Batteries and 16 545 Watt JA Solar Panels

  19. Good morning Been lurking on this forum for a while, learning and fine tuning my PV system. I had 20 x 325kwh pv panels connected to Fronius inverter installed 5-years ago. However, due to load shedding becoming a major concern, I replaced the inverter with a Sunsynk 12kwh 3-phase and added a 10kw Sunsynk battery. I had an issue with the CT's (3-phase and thus there are 3). It was showing ridiculously load...up to 20kw😱. I then played around with the CT directions and 2 are now facing one direction and another the opposite...faulty CT's?🤷‍♂️ System seems to be working fine, except for when grid is down, it still shows 12w being drawn. Any ideas why? Also, w…

This is my installation at my house that does the trick. My requirements.... Or rather the wife, was lights, TV in bedroom and lounge, wifi, the induction plate, (used sparingly during LS) and the blinds or screens that can be dropped when the sun hits. 3Kw Sinyrji Hybrid with 2 deep cycle batteries... So far, all works perfectly during loadshedding.

  24. Hi all. Disclaimer: I won't be doing this myself - I don't trust myself just yet - but I want to be intimately involved, and I'm planning up front to see how it goes. So, I'll give detailed plans to the installer I select, and hopefully they will be GOOD plans. So, I think "Member Installations Showcase" is the best Forum for this project, and I'd appreciate your input and comments/advice as I go. This project is the plant 3 I've been anticipating in my signature. The spec will emerge as I go.
