Inverter Upgrade - Deye 8kw or Luxpower 12kw
Count my vote for the Solis s6 and Deye 8kW as per the last 2 replies.

- Flat Plate Solar Collector on top of roof, geyser inside roof. Is a pump really necessary?
Just a word on pumps. These feed pumps use on heat pumps can easily give a 8-10 year life. One must just ensure a strainer is used to prevent grid entering the unit.- Using an inverter generator to charge the inverter battery during prolonged grid outages and no sun
This situation calls for non essential loads to be switched off and only powered when battery is well charged. The biggest challenge would be to manage loads connected. Any bit of charging ING can provide energy to use for the shorter periods if high loads.- SOC Recalibration Event
Although at times your system might be playing up the above yields look quite ok for the panels you have. Today is a very bad day in Centurion.- Inverter Upgrade - Deye 8kw or Luxpower 12kw
I like the Luxpower inverters from a value point if view. I am biased as I have a old Axpert and Solis grid tied without battery. Also my latest is a Deye and I just prefer the Deye with the wide range of settings and how well it performs it's function as a hybrid inverter. Neither of the 3 gave me any problems. I would say the Deye even if it is only 8kW.- WANTED - Mecer Pouch cells (need two replacement pouches - Mecer Second Life EC4s2P200)
Can I ask you a favour. Would you please post some pics of the cells as I have 2 similar batteries. Which area in SA do you stay.- Lfp and other lithium facts
I did have some vented cells but the bit of liquid was below the cells that were lying flat in the box and it took up all the space. I could see some swallen cells even at the time of getting the battery. Only when I took the time to strip everything out of the box could one see the liquid that were partially absorbed by a plastic sheet under the cells. As the cells were spot welded one had to remove all cells. Stripping took place outside in case there were gasses. Liewer bang Jan as dooi Jan. It will be good to know if the battery is disconnected after venting and signs of this venting if the gasses can cause health issues.- Lfp and other lithium facts
It is not specified if by mass or volume. I think the take away is 4% hydrogen and x% oxygen. Also that the battery not sealed good enough to allow the hydrogen to escape. As indicated the toolbox also exploded indicating that it was also filled with hydrogen. Very interesting that this explosion was not covered in the news as few of these disasters are public knowledge. His position provides him with investigations and he then shares it as part of training. Another important thing is that it is not know what effect inhaling the gasses have on human beings. He just says it took the owner 1 year to recover after inhaling the gasses after the explosion.- SOC Recalibration Event
As you are indicating something is wrong. Your SOC for a 40kwh battery cannot go from 51 to 100% in 12 min if you only have 2200W from the panels. Are you using comms for charging control as it appears the case with the solar charging current in the table showing volts that were rising. Also the sudden increase to 100% in your graph and no charging while you had enough load connected for the time after 13h06 while the battery did discharge. What does your graph show for 17 May?- Lfp and other lithium facts
Not to cause any alarm but create awareness about the current tech we love. This link was shared on a watsaap groep by a member. A very informative channel.- Sunsynk - CT Clamp
You must provide more info. What is on the rating plate of each turbine. Or have you done any measurements of the voltage output?- External bond relay activation
My 2c you only want to do it when the AC will be supplied by the inverter not when the inverter is not on and has an output.- Generator power refused
Try the lower charge as Jacques suggested. The Mecwr type inverters are very fussy with respect to QOS. With your 5kW that worked on the genny I would take that route to at least see if you can get out of your current situation even at lower power available.- TAKEN !!!!! free : Major Tech MTD8 Digital Programmable Timer . ITEM IS TAKEN
Thanks for the timer. It is working but the battery does not hold charge and settings reset if the grid is off. It will work well for me with whole house on the inverter.- Which is better for a home setup? 1x Deye 10.6kWh RW-G10.6 or 2x Deye 5.32kWh SE-G5.3
Catch 22 situation. If you need 2kwh to heat the geyser (11.4deg) for a 150L geyser running a 2kw element for 1 hour then your 3kw element would only run 40min for the same 11.4deg heating. So no saving of power to do the same work. Either element would drain ~20%. I do however agree the lower load from the battery will be kinder on the battery and increase life.- Legit or scam?
I doubt that a Longi 555W panel sells for even close to the R875 level. More like R1400 to R1800. Scams do always quote far below normal prices.- Legit or scam?
My clue would be that Google cannot find such a code for solar panels and with it there are no reviews of the code for the panels. Thus better to stay away than be sorry later.- 8kw Deye (2025) + 3 Greenrich WM500 Batteries + 12 620w Canadian Solar BiFacials
Your 120A is very close to 43Ax3 for the batteries to last longer as the recommended guideline listed in yellow as @TaliaB posted to @Mattyboy While the battery can supply 1.5C lower current will always provide a longer life.- Luxpower tek LXP MPPT question
Thanks for providing the panel specs. From that we can calculate that allowing a 8% rise from the Voc that even 10 panels in series only brings the string Voc to 491V. For my safety margin I would not use more than 9 in a series string. Not at all an input as to how you use your 20 panels but more around the discussion @TaliaB and I had earlier when talking about 2 strings in parallel for MPPT1 when I had a blond moment. His way of connecting the 20 panels still holds as a good way of using them.- Savings
Then on top of it I shot myself in the foot after I switched of my PV 1 evening during an electric storm and forgot to switch it on the next morning. Bad to get old.- Savings
Dangerous for me to extrapolate forward. Jan 2kwh, Feb 11kwh, Mar 22 and Apr 24 and 2 days to go of grid use. We have had too many very clouded days. 😁- Luxpower tek LXP MPPT question
Thanks for clarifying how to use the 20 panels. My mistake by thinking one can use -?S2P for the MPPT that is good for 31/34A. I only zoomed in that area. So this leaves us that one will not be able to use 2 parallel strings for the indicated panels due to exceeding the 31A if on the old firmware. +1 for information. I sometimes wonder why such a good inverter never caught the attention in SA- Luxpower tek LXP MPPT question
It seems the firmware on the specs provided by @Loch for the older model was ISC for panels were 31/19/19A. If 2strings of ISC of 17A were connected and the inverter fails and a claim was submitted and Luxpower insist on pictures of the panel specs and find it at 34A could they not refuse a claim based on the ISC that was exceeded? @TaliaB- Luxpower tek LXP MPPT question
Great inverters these. Just do the upgrade before you start. A few years ago some Luxpowers would just switch off if ever you exceeded the power side with no damage. Just ensure you stick to below the Voc of the strings and downgrade the string voltage to the lowest temp in your area in winter. - Flat Plate Solar Collector on top of roof, geyser inside roof.
