  1. It depends entirely on your current setup and your much battery capacity you have
  2. There's a grand total of 3 posts on 4x4 forums making the claim
  3. Yeah, the first warning sign should've been the price. New panels are 1900ish at the moment, no way I'd pay 1500 for lower rated refurb units imat current rates
  4. You only have to look on this forum to see the absolute shit show over fivestar. If you're spending that kind of money, there are better options with superior aftersales support
  5. For one, you're at the mercy of whoever the Devs are of the apps, they're mostly uncontactable. From the behaviour I've seen with WatchPower. uptime is a joke. Historical data is hit and miss. Data frequency / resolution is typically 5 minutes or longer
  6. No. Just look at the lack of aftersales support for them. They're cheap for a reason
  7. Because Lead Acid Batteries cannot handle being cycled and discharged so often. The batteries may test fine but are probably kaput as you only get an hour out of them. You're better off investing in a suitable Lithium battery
  8. That's not what he's saying.
  9. You're better off reading directly from the inverter
  10. What loads do you have remaining on your main DB? If it's just geyser and stove, for example, you can remove the EL there and only retain an EL on the sub DB
  11. Sunsynk can't do a "migration", I highly doubt they'll do anything this sophisticated with any degree of competence. SA's development cadence on the other hand suggests they'll actually be able to deliver on something like this
  12. This international payment story seems like sophisticated tax avoidance tbh. They should have a local legal entity you should be able to pay in ZAR and that's that.
  13. Forgot to mention, I use my changeover switch to Eskom/AC to carry all loads prior to any of the above. You could isolate battery first, then inverter switch off (inverter stays on, just doesn supply any load or charge battery), then PV and Eskom and that should be a full cold shutdown
  14. What has worked for me Disconnect PV Disconnect Battery Flip inverter switch off Disconnect Eskom
  15. He probably means that we're cycling the batteries far more often compared to other parts of the world
  16. Gonna take a wild guess based on the pic, that looks like a seplos BMS? And probably why it's not working on Voltronic/Axpert. What does the manual say about BMS Comms,? CAN or Rs458? What protocol? What pinout for the cable?
  17. The app really sucks. One of the main reasons I decided to pay for Solar Assistant
  18. The reason, as always,is money
  19. Exactly, some people don't want to spend hours setting up stuff.
  20. See @Steve87installed one of these recently
  21. have you double checked the work settings on the inverter itself (not the app) ?
  22. It's like the new phone conundrum. Do you wait for the newer model or buy what fits your needs at the moment. Personally, buy what you need when you need it. New hardware always has a breaking in period where bugs needs to be fixed. You don't want to be an unwitting beta tester
  23. Long shot, but did you try a physical disconnect and reconnect?
  24. Which forwarder are you using
  25. Odd. Worth a mail to SA support I guess
