Hi trying to connect Axpert to Nextbook with Watchpower program using Axpert USB port connected to Nextbook USB port . The program connects for a while and then disconnects then connects again with the same pattern . Nextbook information attached . The same USB cable works fine with Standalone Pc . Please help .

Thanks Jaco . I run 95% of grid only use Eskom to keep batteries above 80% DOC . Only want to know the kwh that the inverter deliver so the basic meter will do for now . I get the Eskom kWh from pay as you go meter when I switch to Eskom only 30 - 40 kWh per month . Thanks for your time .

Jaco thanks for your input . I only have watchpower . I am not into electrics and computers . What equipment will I need if I want to use the RS 485 com's . I saw a DDS 238 -2ZN/5 meter on Google that uses RS 485 com's .This would give me more data . I will appreciate if you have some info for me . Thanks .

I need some advice . Want to install a kWh meter in the Solar Sub . DB board . Any ideas please .

Our local electric shop sell screwtipe 650 , 1000 - 3000 watt . I have a 650 watt spare . The flange tipe is available with a 1000 watt . They are standard with GAP 50 Lt geysers .

Thanks Coulomb . Please school me a bit . I am total none electric . The only reason I tried to fix this was out of frustration not finding someone to help . The problem was SCC was disconnecting a hell of a lot and I think is part of the reason why the inverter running in Parallel with this blew the MOSFETs . First I replaced the control board on the main board but it made no difference . Then I replaced the Complete SCC and the problem was solved . I dit not connect to Watch power after replacing the control board . Thanks for your input .

That is how I find it also . Even if you exceed the mppt max with 750 watt I rarely get to the maximum . Makes a lot difference to available power . Is this normal or do my panels under perform .

No I learned something also . How to make a Quote . Do not dare to laugh only touched a PC after past 50 .

Hi ebrsa I resently built a Axpert out of two faulty inverters . Used the main board from one and SCC from another . I use Watchpower to collect data . When we did the test run to evaluate if the inverter was OK , I observed that inverter number changed on Watch power . It wasn't corresponding with the number below the barcode on the side of the inverter . The new number was that of the inverter from which I removed the SSC . Would like to know if this also happened with yours . That will maybe tell you what was replaced or if you received a new inverter . Hope I explained correct .

Hi Richyv just something very simple . Is the battery banks correctly connected . Did help a friend with the same setup where the wrong wire size ( 6 mm ) and different wire lengths on battery banks was used . The battery's will never balance or last . Good example of connectsion on Power Forum of battery bank section .

Chris running the oven on solar is interesting . Takes 2500 watt to heat + - 15 - 20 min after that more of than on . The women will switch something of if only they can use the electric oven , so make her happy .

Chris my spare unit . The 1 made up out of 2 cripple units . Tested for a few days and doing well . The only problem , poor Axpert charging that is normal . The Mecer 5000 watt 4000 watt mppt is enough for me not going parallel again . Must say charging and voltage conrtrol much better on new unit .

KLEVA my multimeter is good for only 10 amp . My 18 panels is combined on the roof in groups of 6 panels ( 3 x 2 ) .There is a combiner box in the ceiling where the 3 strings is combined with the surge arrestors next to the trap door . It would be nice for me to compere the incoming amps of the different groups of panels ( age difference of 3 years between 1st and last panels ) . Thanks if it does not work I will buy another .

Used this one a lot on the older cars to setting the generator voltage regulators . Was good enough for that no digital meters those days . My hobby before solar . I was not sure if it could handle the 100 volt . Thanks

Hi Riaah thanks for the response , it is one the ampmeters used in cars to check battery charging dash mount . Busy cleaning at garage removing stuff that can't be used any more .

IWell then there is way that you will never get backfeed.Install a "welding" plug 100 a with a switch if you need gridplug it in and switch on if not plug it out. When we removed the electric hob to go to LPG a 3 point plug was installed for the gas igniter using the hob cable . Will I still be able to use it if the solar is of grid .

I agree not to switch off . That is how I lost an Axpert . The slave blow MOSFETs when I switched on the next morning . Went through the right stop and start procedure as per Power Forum download .

Did a rebuild for Heidelberg Motor Museum 1957 Protea a few years ago . The old 1200 Ford Prefect enjin . Removed the alternater to get it back to original . What a task to get a 12 volt voltage regulater for the generator . Reminds me of the times all cars had generaters . Alternators one of the big improvements of the modern cars .

Hi,  Did you come right? I work / operate throughout Gauteng. Heidelberg isn't too far.  Thanks got hold of another mainboard . Tested and no problems . I will possible at at later stage when money available have the main board repaired . 16 x MOSFETs and 5 x 22 ohm smd resistors gone . Will it be worth the effort .
