I did a setup with a Arduino with light sensor to switch the pool when it was cloudy . My problem was when I wanted to backwash the pool or run it the sun must shine and every time I wanted to switch the pool I had to go to the pool pump . I use the Sonoff RF switch . By installing the eWe app on my phone we can now switch the pool with our phones or remote control . The Sonoff switches must just be in the range of the Wi Fi . You can also set timer and schedules on these switches . I am impressed .

There is a lot of info on the forum . What is your energy use and what can you do to lower it . More efficient lights and other equipment . What is your area standards . What is legal and what not . What do you want to connect to the system . Must it be grid connected or offgrid . What capacity and amount battery storage do you want . Get a quote . It must be a detailed quote . Wire sizes , fuses, Pv combinerbox , DC disconnector , DC breakers , Tipe and size inverter , panels , batteries , control system and extras you want . Get a qualified person to check . After installation get system checked before final payment . There is some forum members that will assist you . Their knowledge helped my to get my badly installed system to a good standard . Your budget should get you a very nice setup .

Good example . Electric supplier has a 24 volt Axpert installation done in his shop . 6mm battery wires can not be called cables . No battery disconnect or fuse . ???

That is so . Nearly you joint the blue team . Please remember you must apply for that . Not everyone gets approval . Poor Axpert only did what it was ask to do 😂

The USB and Com port does not work together at all . Fault 20 . I use the Com port with serial connection on old PC to use watchpower . The USB cable is problematic looses connection a lot . The remote was connected to a 4000 watt before I bought the 5000 watt . The remote displayed a lot more info with the 4000 watt , a lot of info missing when used on the 5000 watt . Is it the firmware U3 01-03 . ???

Reminds my of the time South Africa replaced the imperial system with metrical system . Handbooks in inches and measure equipment in mm . Did me a lot of good . Still use it sometimes very handy .

Installed a remote monitor in the kitchen . Let the wife do her own thing . No problems

Son off do make a energy monitor that can switch by remote called Sonoff Energy Monitor Pow 2 16 amp . I use the Sonoff RF switch to switch by remote and Wi Fi . This can be used as a timer switch also but no monitor . Schedules and timers can be set on the APP EWelink . These switches can be installed in your DB . Bought the RF switch from Communica .

Does the caps keep the charge if the inverter was switched of for a few hours but the batteries was not disconnected .

I have a 48volt 5kw system supply for the main supply . Running of grid with changeover switch if needed . Then I have a second inverter 24 volt with 2 x 300 watt panels off grid. This is not connected to main supply only 4 plugs with different colour . I use this for security system , dstv what ever it can handle . The batteries I use is not good enough for the main system . Should improve the lifetime off the 48 volt bank .

The inverter on the website 5000 watt has mppt rated to 4000 watt . The 12x330 watt panels will be fine . This inverter is supplied without the parallel kit . If you do want to upgrade later you will have to installed a parallel kit that will cost you about R600 . I would buy from a dealer that can supply you with panels , battery and Mecer branded Axpert . There is some good dealers . Then you get what you pay for . When buying solar after sales sevice and support is very important . Someone forum can direct you to a good supplier in your area .
