BETA FIRMWARE AXPERT MAX 8 KW >>>MPPT improvement<<< (Based on stable 90.06)

Hi. What can tell me about Deye simgle phase 5kw or 8kw? Comparison with Easun about efficiency, self consumption or others... thanks

? The same patched or factory firmware suddenly changed behaviour?

Or you're saying you've installed the new firmware and it has a minimum PV voltage of 115 V now?

BTW, that's an 11 kW Axpert Max 1 '2809 firmware, and this is an 8 kW thread. In case others attempt to use it on their 8 kW machines.

Edit: It looks to me that the minimum MPPT voltage is still 90 V.

Edit 2: However, there is now an additional test for the solar voltage to be below 250 V before they force the PV voltage down. They may finally have addressed the problem!

Hello columb the older firmware 57.60 the only difference I found is that it would stick at 115v instead of 90v which it did on the original firmware it was shipped with.

After looking at it for a couple days although I think it may be a little too early to tell still it does seem much improved. It stayed at 100v until midday yesterday but it was extremely dark and miserable. Besides there was only 0.5a so not a huge amount to gain. Once the sun did start to come out it shot up to around 290v and stayed there pretty much without fault for a few hours until the sun started leave my panels. See photo 1

Today, bit of odd behaviour on mppt1 regarding amps comparing it to mppt2 but I shall continue to monitor and get back, like I said a bit too early to judge. Photo 2

Based on what I've witnessed over the past couple cloudy days I would consider this 95% fixed. It still sits at around 100v longer than I would say is perfect. However it does get going much quicker without missing out on too much power. I would say that over the course of the day I'm loosing no more than 2-300wh. Not sure if this fix can be translated into the 8kw model but that is beyond my scope of knowledge.Screenshot_20230122_081045_Chrome.thumb.jpg.51c28901ed8bdea43818df5db93d32a1.jpg

Hi there,

I have the voltronic axpert max (same as voltronic) here in the UK and having the same issue.

I have 2x inverters in parallel and both stuck at 90V

One inverter has 440VOC string and the other has 270Voc string.

I have noticed isolating the solar and re-energising makes the MPPT kick in at full system voltage.

I have no experience with patching firmware but I would expect that this is the issue. (Hence finding this thread).

What's the best solution for this please, I'm half tempted to place a MPPT regulator directly to my batteries!!

What model inverter do you have? 8kw 11kw? Removable display?

I have the voltronic (voltacon badged) axpert max 7.2kw with removable display :)

Hi Coulomb, i have a little problem that now i found. With the 92.05 firnware that u modified, i cant charge the batteries more that 80A current, even if i have more pv production, stuck on 80A, if i charge from grid, no problem, charges with 120A, from solar cant. Do u think its some firmware bug ? Can check pls ?

I checked the changes again, they are as per the text file, and none should have any effect on solar charge current.

There are extra constraints for solar charging, nothing to do with the patch. For example, each MPPT is limited to 18 A, and the two MPPTs together are limited to a combined 30 A (at the panel side, not the battery side). Plus of course, it's hard to know what power panels are capable of providing, given their temperature, shading, strength of the sun, clouds, and so on.

It certainly could be some glitch in the firmware, but it would be hard to find. All the MPPT functions that I've looked at in the various MAX firmwares have been identical, though I did not check the MPPT interrupt function. It's a bit of a pain, as they moved code around significantly in one of the versions.

Other MAX users (of patched or factory firmware): Do you notice this limitation?

No Problems, Any one on here willing to share their label and firmware from factory. Ideally MPP Solar Branded. for an 8kw

I will retest the voltage to see if will charge when the float is higher. I saw another little problem, i have some tic tic sounds , like a little short circuit 1 time for 3/4 seconds, from the convertor from photo, only when is in bypass from grid. If i close the grid, the sound is off. Why makes this ? I have photo and video.

In the datasheet of the axpert 8kw there is explained that grid to battery charge is up to 120A and solar to battery up to 80A

And there is a limit for each mppt of 4000w .

This sounds familiar. Sorry I don't have time to search for it now, but it's worth searching carefully.

The description seems to be wrong, i bought an Easun and in the ebay description was like your screenshot, but in the pictures there it was explained that the 120A are combined.

Or maybe did you really have better hardware in your inverter?

Did you get 120A solar charge with original firmware?
