June 26, 20197 yr @Mark why the sad face, there is way too much to read though all the post on Axperts needing advice, support, repairs or how to. 🙂 And there are experts here to answer them all. We (carefully I include my bud Plonk) don't own or will ever own a Axpert either, so it is of little to no interest, bar a quick scan, quick comment, now and then. Sorry. 🙊.
June 26, 20197 yr Now here is a good news story!!! Eskom has reportedly said it wouldn't repair the damaged transformers in areas where people don't pay for their electricity usage. Now THAT is something that can work ... get the majority "affected" and get the popcorn out when the "majority" takes on the Minuc's / neighbors that steal! Edited June 26, 20197 yr by Guest

I mean, a pre-programmed ESS setup grid tied Victron kit with 8 x 350w panels and a 150/100 all delivered kinda looking at wot +-R55k incl or some such and all you need to do extra more or less is get some Pylons or whatever batts, a DB board or two and there you go. They can now actually run for whole days without coal. They keep the coal stations fired up in case the sun stops shining and the wind stops blowing, but they're a standby resource. Some nuclear in that mix too. And a technology developed in SA but has it been used here? They burn the residual coal in worked out mines underground and channel the gasses up to a generator.

June 28, 20197 yr I read the Guvament is going for a $10 billion Eskom deal. Wrap it in whateva spindoctor gibberish you want but this will become our country's "doodskoot". I pity the "na geslag" that will have to deal with this.. BTW, a challenge to all. How many noughts in a billion. Warning though, don't get confused between the different countries.
June 28, 20197 yr 28 minutes ago, Johandup said: BTW, a challenge to all. How many noughts in a billion. Warning though, don't get confused between the different countries. Normally we mean 9 zeroes. That's what you can call the international understanding, but that's a bit of a de-facto thing caused by the Americans. In Afrikaans a "Biljoen" is a million million, ie it has 12 zeroes, also called a trillion. A thousand million is called a Miljard, which I believe is from the British Milliard. Thankfully, the Eskom debt is only halfway towards 12 zeroes (at just short of 500 billion ZAR). Or around 35 billion USD. GDP is around 350 billion USD. So about 10% of GDP. That last one is the real issue...

June 28, 20197 yr @Gabriël your sheet is correct. If the quoted figure is preceded by a $ sign it refers to the USA interpretation. But do look at how the different financial publishers screw it up. But now Eskom go from 6 noughts to the 9 noughts debt plus the original 6 noughts. Oh, and they battle to complete small projects.... My calculator does not have enough spaces for this. And no cadre's brain will be able to comprehend this. But they are totally willing to enslave us forever. And somebody must ask how the payback will be financed.

June 28, 20197 yr You should ask the Zimbos how to count. At one stage their largest denomination had 27 zeros behind a 1. Still didn't make it valuable and I think 6 months before that they lobbed off 6 zeros their currency
