Sorry I also didn't see what the process was to connect this to home assistant, did you have to use a Pi running solar assistant in order to gain access, or is there a more direct way to connect to it? @AlexTZA the SoC timer setting, is this because you are wanting to change the battery discharge level on the fly depending on the weather etc? January 4, 20251 yr Would appreciate on info about passive cooling Solis s6 (or s5) HF switching frequency? because I faced with Deye 15kHz high pitched noice on practice, and looking forward to find alternative without such an issue. Does passive cooled s6 / s5 emit similar high pitched noice as Deye / SunSynk?
January 4, 20251 yr Hi all, I have recently installed a 8kw s6 hybrid inverter with a battery and soon to be pv and have two questions. Currently the reserve SOC is 100% Questions: 1. The inverter is reading grid voltage etc and yet the battery is supplying the load even whilst being under the reserve SOC. What could be causing the inverter to not supply the load and charge the battery with Grid power? 2. I am not wanting to export any power to grid. On Deye inverters there is a setting 'zero export to ct', I am struggling to find this setting or equivalent on the solis cloud app. Could someone please point me in the direction of this setting on the solis cloud app. Any help would be appreciated! January 4, 20251 yr 1st go to storage mode and uncheck allow export ur export will be stopped. 2nd to stop drain the battery you have to create charging/discharging schedule with 0 Ampere just like in attached pic
January 4, 20251 yr Thanks for the swift response. 1. my app doesn't have a 'storage mode' option as such. I can go work mode and then click self use mode. only self use mode is enabled. I don't have an 'allow export' option, could this just be different app versions? 2.confirm to get this schedule you have to enable the time of use switch? Thanks !

January 5, 20251 yr You are using old firmware.. if you want to stop export to grid then you have to go to option "Grid Feed in Power Limit" and set value to zero.. and use time of use switch to add schedule.

January 5, 20251 yr Hi... Adding to the thread, somewhat unrelated to the above. To answer the last post, yes, just send them the serial number. But ensure the Internet router is connected in a way that it doesn't switch off when the inverter restarts. You can change over before you do the update. This is more of a campaign for Solis users to request support for some much needed software updates to their platform which just aren't happening. Unfortunately with Solis SA support, they are very helpful when it comes to firmware updates and correcting setting related issues. But when it comes to issues beyond that, they can be somewhat unintuitive and unhelpful. Some of their suggestions to remedy genuine software flaws are laughable. 2 major issues that still pose a problem: 1) When the time of use is enabled, the inverter defaults to solar priority for battery and grid for load. But when the timer is off, the load is priority. This priority cannot be changed and is rather frustrating. People want to be able to tell their inverter what to do. They want the solar to power their early morning loads and after everyone is gone to work, there'll be enough solar for the battery. Not that the grid is being used at the early part of the morning, battery charges up early and for the rest of the day, solar essentially does nothing. Solis Support solution for the problem.. Don't use the timer, just set the Reserve SOC low and the inverter will prioritise the load. But people don't want to go into the night with their battery at a low SOC eg. 40%. They want to start the night at 100% and end it at 40% in case there's an outage during the night. That's why the timer function is there in the first place. 2) There's no battery restart % setting (like Deye/Sunsynk). So you can't set a high% for the system to start feeding loads when there's only solar and no grid. The result of this oversight is that you have a system that starts as soon as the battery passes the Reserve SOC and shuts down again after a few minutes because solar isn't enough at the early part of the morning to run the loads. I've had customers left frustrated because the system continues starting and stopping, potentially damaging fridges and freezers. Solis Support solution for the problem.. Add more panels. Laughable, really. There's 3.8kw of panels for a 1kw essential load. But at 5:30 in the morning as the sun is just rising and starting to charge the batteries, how is it going to produce even 1kw? That's why the Restart SOC function is supposed to be there. It acts as a buffer time. Others experiences and inputs are appreciated on this subject.
January 5, 20251 yr Dear when you set time of schedule as discharging and set discharge current to Zero Amp in early morning say 6am to 12pm you can use solar to asist load 1st in this case when extra solar is availabe then inverter will charge battery.. i am using same with not facing any problem. January 5, 20251 yr Actually a clever and intuitive way of overcoming the problem. It's probably something Solis hasn't even thought of as a way of overcoming the issue. When I asked them how to overcome the issue, they simply responded that there was no way of doing it. Thanks for that insight...
January 5, 20251 yr Hi Nabeel, Just been giving this some more thought and I have some more thoughts. My situation is that I only get grid at night from approximately 10pm - 5am. I want to be able to charge the batteries with grid so that pv and battery can take load when the grid goes off in the morning and batteries to be charged throughout the day with pv. keep in mind I will also not be exporting power to the grid side and only be supplying backup side. Would these settings work for when I do install my pv: Discharging 1 5am-15:30 0A Discharging 2 15:30-22:00 0A Charging 1 22:00-5:00 50A Whilst I don't have the PV connected I use the tou settings that you have? January 5, 20251 yr Yes these settings are ok.but you can set charging SoC to minimum so that grid charge the battery just u reqired to run the load in early morning.(when PV is less than load)

As observed by myself, my situation is the following: when production increases more than 2kWh, and when I do not have any consumption on the house side, the AC output of the inverter surpasses often the 253V limit accepted by the grid, and it than disconnects the inverter…and so on. If I plug some consumer in the house, as a water heater, that takes around 3kWh, the inverter works fine. To resume, if i have good solar power, let’s say 6kWh, but no or low consumption on the house side, it increases the AC output and disconnects all the time with alarm 1010 grid over voltage .I have seen on his AC graph values of 271V that can damage my house appliances! I could be wrong, but 1010 grid over voltage means, there is a spike in the incoming grid voltage, not going out. Edited February 20, 20251 yr by Pho3niX90

Though that said, if am not constantly connected to the same wifi or you are on the move, then it becomes a mute point. Hopefully raising a ticket with Solis SA may result in a resolution for you.

I don't use the Solis app. I have it connected to my network via Phoenix's modbus integration which works brilliantly. So I maybe connect via the Solis cloud app once every 2-3months. I have the follow phone time enabled but I assume it needs the Solis cloud app to be used frequently. I have reached out to Solis SA and they updated everything but it still happens. Doesn't really bother me because it's not very frequent and it's so easy to rectify
