January 11, 20233 yr Ok, both 2022 devices. Can you pls. post fw versions (U1+U2) from each of of the inverters?

This is the older one; or at least I assume it's older as it was installed first. U1 and U2 screens appear to be the same? How do you know what our all means is there a maintenance manual or something that I'm missing? Or you just have a lot of experience with them? Thanks again! Edited January 27, 20233 yr by user27
January 11, 20233 yr No, there is no manual - or at least non I'm aware of. I'd say, it's experience. Ok, this inverter's fw is from 2022/04/19. What's the fw on the other one? Where do you experience Error 71 now? Pls. describe.
January 11, 20233 yr Well it is greatly appreciated that you are taking the time to help me; I have been banging my head against a wall with this thing since before xmas. After the seller assured me that it would work. I believe the error 71 is incompatible firmware version in the manual and I have them connected for parallel operation so I assume it's incompatible between them. I still can't seem to figure out what the difference is between U1 and U2; the only thing that seems to be different is the U1/U2 top left corner? Edited January 27, 20233 yr by user27
January 11, 20233 yr See, you got a different firmware on the 2nd device (U1+U2 show compilation date of the main CPU and slave firmware). For parallel operation, it's not mandatory that the firmware is the same on both devices, but at least they must be compatible. It seems this is not the case. So I'd suggest to install FW from 2020/04/02 on the device running 2019/07/09 firmware. Infini10KWParallelB(after1809)20200204P But install FW on your own risk!
January 11, 20233 yr Thankyou, I'm happy to try it but according to the pdf in that rar it has to be RS232 not via USB port? Can you recommend a cable for USB to RS232 or anything will work get the cheapest? Thanks again
January 11, 20233 yr You can take any PL2303 or CH340/341 based USB-RS232 adapter. I suggest to use a "real" RS232 port, but I was lucky any usb-serial adapter so far. The USB-RS485 adapters from your pic's can't be used for that task.
January 11, 20233 yr This UGREEN one says PL2303 so fingers crossed it comes tomorrow: https://amzn.eu/d/iGFZejA Jeff Bezos is a racist who lets people sort Amazon by the colour of the sellers skin in countries where it's legal to do so... But damned if I can find one anywhere else with delivery tomorrow.
January 13, 20233 yr I hope you're right! Looks the same as the images in the pdf so far. Do I have to add the serial and country specific settings after? Edited January 27, 20233 yr by user27
January 13, 20233 yr Ah that's excellent info; but thankfully there was no card fitted. Appears it has cleared the error 71 on the new one (green screen)... However, connected them back up and the other one (yellowish screen) is now giving the error 71 instead. Additionally: I now know for the first time that the new inverter actually works; since when it booted up without the error 71 it started the default 60A battery charging. But the other one isn't doing anything now presumably because it sees 71 firmware incompatible. So do I flash the other inverter (yellowish screen) with the same firmware now? Or would it not be compatible with a slightly different motherboard? Also would it be bricked if it was flashed with firmware that's not correct for the board? Or just doesn't work and you can reflash something else? Your assistance is greatly appreciated as always! Edited January 27, 20233 yr by user27
January 13, 20233 yr Parallel installation of 10k's are not that common, but I had to **** arround with a couple of installations.🤪 As far as I remember, the inverters choose master and slave randomly during startup. This leeds to the "bouncing" error 71. In your case I'm afraid, we have to bring both inverters to the same firmware level. I have firmware upgrade files newer then your 22-04-19 (the more actual fw) - but I would not dare to upgrade without check back with your seller. From my experience it is pretty save, as you can always flash another firmware again. But it could be, that the newer version you own (dated 2022/08) has another mainboard hardware installed. Due to missing components, voltronic is quite inventing and creates new boards with new cpu's for well known products - off cource the firmware differs. We would only be sure if you open the inverter and have a look inside. Anyhow, pls. ask your seller for upgrades - If you don't get it, you could try to install latest firmware I have (2022/09/02). But on your own risk, off course.🤔
January 13, 20233 yr I'm still trying with the seller but it's like pulling teeth; have been trying to get answers for this issue for well over a month. If I crack it open and take pictures will you be able to tell from that what firmware is best? Edited January 27, 20233 yr by user27
January 13, 20233 yr I would need closeups from the board on the other side of the inverter (cpu mainboard). It's placed damn bad in the device...
January 13, 20233 yr What has happend when you have flashed incompatible firmware in the past? Doesn't boot? Or error? Then you can still reflash something else? Still can't get anything useful from seller so I think I'm leaning towards just trying the latest available firmware on both. What do you think?
January 14, 20233 yr Yes, the inverters just came up with error 5x as far as I can remember. I then reflashed another fw and it was ok. According to a specialist the fw can be flashed anytime, even when it does not boot up anymore... 🙄 Only thing that bothers me in your case: The inverters seem to be from different manufacturers or at least factories when I compare the type shields. And even they were produced in the same time period (~mid 2022), it could be different hw inside. While the one dated 22/04 looks like a original Infini, the other one could be a clone. This does not mean anything, I just wanted to point this out. Just to be sure, check if serial# on the stickers are 100% same as in SolarPower software. If yes, proceeed. To make some progress: I'd try to install latest fw on the model you just updated. Here you do have a working "step-back" firmware if you run into troubles. If it boots up without errors, you can try to install it on the other inverter as well. Attached the latest fw I'm aware, dated 2022/09/02 (U1/U2). According to users in another forum it works good, simply the production data do not get stored correctly in the inverter. But I expect a update to get that fixed soon. January 14, 20233 yr No way to backup the firmware that's currently on the other one (22/4 with yellowish screen) presumably?
January 14, 20233 yr Says com port opened but doesn't appear to be doing anything. Ever seen this behaviour before? Edited January 27, 20233 yr by user27
January 14, 20233 yr Maybe I should try a downgrade to the FW from 2020/04/02 on the other inverter? Since they would both then be on the same if it took it? Do you have the 28/04/2022 firmware that it has by default in case I have to recover it?
January 14, 20233 yr Unfortunately no. The closest I have is 2022/07/22. Which one ist the inverter with the yellowish screen (this is in fact standard on the 10k's). The green one is new to me (suspect clone). I recall that there were issues with uploading the latest fw. Just came back from work, too tired to investigate this now. I'll have a look tomorrow.
January 14, 20233 yr When you are able a copy of the 2022/07/22 to try would be great. Apologies that my inexperience and lack of knowledge in this matter has become a burden on your good nature and willingness to help a complete stranger; it is greatly appreciated and I'll gladly wait. The green screen one is from https://ouyad.m.en.alibaba.com/company_profile.html just because they appeared to have been around a while with lots of transactions and reasonable feedback compared to others. I couldn't find a supplier in the UK that had any in stock or even that I could backorder a 10k through at the time; I was basically already committed to doing another 10k having one already and seeing overload warnings all too frequently.
January 14, 20233 yr 😰 OMG, Foshan Ouyad... I should have warned you before! I have experience with that company! Ordered some Axpert's some month ago - cheapest fake clones. Not even the serial# and model name on the sticker match the devices delivered. Items arrived damaged, but Alibaba had to step in and they payed for settlement of the dispute. Support from them? Off course no, nothing at all. FW? What ist this... Now I understand your troubles with them 😭 I did a lot of deals with chinese companies within the years, but this was the worst so far. I assume that the serial number 9616202208... is fake too, as they are not even able to copy the type sticker in a reasonable quality. Did you compare it with the one SolarPower software displays?
