Hi @gbyleveldt Have you considered using Zigbee or Z-Wave RF connections for battery operated switches etc. Both are supported by HA, run of battery power and long range compared to wifi. You would need to either get a Zigbee bridge for your network or USB Zigbee adapter for your HA box.
