What worries me, sometimes at night, the Batteries start with 84% and when load shedding start at 20:00 or 22:00, I stress because the batteries drop below 50%. Untick use timer. By doing so the battery will only be used when the grid is offline
July 5, 20224 yr Try set batteries to 100% for the whole night with battery shutdown on 50%. From my experience if there is no grid then your battery will deplete only when there are no mains until the shutdown value and revert back to grid and start charging. (but I last did any test like this a year ago, so cannot be certain) Test this and share more info here. Edited July 5, 20224 yr by Gareth_ZA
January 11, 20233 yr I install 5kw sunsync inverter, 7kw battery and 7 x 455watt solar panels. I used more eskom power with inverter. Used between 24 to 27kwh a day. Before install inverter i use 18 to 19kwh per day. There is a back feed from solar panels. Zero expert is ticked.

If setup for PV used and load 1st this should not happen.

Can you share your settings screens, specifically your System work mode 1 and 2 screens

If you don't want to draw anything, and you have a 5K inverter, then try this: I am a newbie. Had my SUNSYNK 5 (kv?) inverter, 1 battery and 10 panels installed a month ago. My SOC/V above is all set to 100% with all the Grid boxes checked. What that means is that whenever the battery goes below 100% it is always charged to 100% by the grid...On the second page the only box that is checked is the Zero Export one. I have a few questions about the above picture. From 00h00 to 05h00, battery power will be used all the way even below 50% as there is (usually) no sunshine available ? From 05h00 to 08h00 (battery could now be at 40%) solar power will be used for consumption and not charging batteries and the rest of power needed will still be drawn from batteries. Between 8 and 5 the battery will be kept at 80% - charged by solar secondary after priority load has been taken care of. Between 5 and 6 you top up the battery to 100% from the grid. From 18h00 onwards you are basically just on battery.

If there is no grid, then yes, it will drain battery until the battery's setting for shutdown is reached: From 05h00 to 08h00 (battery could now be at 40%) solar power will be used for consumption and not charging batteries and the rest of power needed will still be drawn from batteries. It depends, if there is enough solar power, then yes, otherwise it will use Solar power and grid. If no grid, it will use solar power and battery. Between 8 and 5 the battery will be kept at 80% - charged by solar secondary after priority load has been taken care of. Yes, but if there is excess solar, it will also charge the battery until 100%. Between 5 and 6 you top up the battery to 100% from the grid. From 18h00 onwards you are basically just on battery. Yep. Response in line above, in bold.
