Sunsynk 5kW and which battery?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I have recently had a 5KW Sunsynk Hybrid installed with 2 x Pylon US3000C batteries. The system is operating flawlessly, except for some reason, the Inverter/BMS will not allow me to set a DOD lower than 35% ? whereas it should be able to go to 95% ?

Any ideas?

Thanks

LD

There's another screen under battery setting where you need to set the minimum SOC. The time of use settings will only allow you to set it up to the amount specified under battery setting.

Thanks Achmat for this info.

I will check when I am home again.  I think on this screen it also wont allow a lower setting than the 35%, but I will check and let you know if it worked.

Regards

Thanks Achmat & Nexuss for your replies.

I managed to increase the DOD setting through one of the battery setting screens. Its not that clear in the manual.

The page that allows a lower setting, at first glance looks as if it only pertains to other batteries like AGM and not Lithium...so it pretty much got over-looked by me!

Hi,

Sorry I have only just seen this. Last October thru Powerforum store I got all my hardware. The same inverter and 16 410W PVs (split 8 facing NE & 8 NW) With these eating a big slice of my budget I went for the ZTE ZXDC48 FB101. I knew it was somewhat small for the rest of my installation.

Despite some fears and significant criticism it has perform brilliantly. At first the Sunsynk alarmed and shut down claiming low battery voltage when I measured full voltage. However after 2 or 3 weeks the inverter learned to partner with the battery superbly.

The ZTE (made by Pylontech BTW) cost me some cents under R23949. Feel free to ask more detaiils if you have not committed yet.

Regards.

I'm going a little off topic on my thread here...

I was looking at 4x 540W JA Mono Solar Panels to have the voltage at >125v for MPPT. Then came along QCell with their MPP voltage of 44v.

Am I correct that I’m only going to need 3 QCell panels to start with? Or is there something that I’m missing here?

Don't consider a panel with anything over 12.9A Isc, the 5k Sunsynk will clip it and you will lose PV power potential. Also 125V is barely workable, for optimal power you need something closer to 370V (or at least between 240 and 370VDC).

Rather give Steve a call at the Powerforumstore, he can spec you a budget friendly system that will work well.

Can Sunsynk/Deye 12KW hybrid inverter work with 2x 5000UP Pylontech batteries without Pylontech's LV Hub? If yes, then what's the benefit of LV Hub?

Yes. You will be limited to 100A from the Pylontechs, so ~4.8kW (2.4kW each). The LV hub is for if you have more than 15 or 16 batteries.

Good Day. I have the same setup with 2 X ZTE ZXDC48 FB101 and a 8kw Sunsynk Inverter. The installer set the battery on the inverter to AGM% because there was no communication cable to be able to connect to the battery and Inverter.

Where would I be able to get the correct comms cable that needs to be used between these batteries and the Inverter. Is it an issue that the Inverter is set to AGM% and not Lithium as he said he cannot set to Lithium if the comms cable is not setup. I am battling to find out what comms cable to use and where I can source it from. Any help will be appreciated.

Below is how they setup the ZTE battery.

Thanks
