  1. Hi Im finally able to get myself a solar system, now the learning start as I love doing most things DIY and have zero solar background... Ive ordered the following: KODAK Solar Off Grid Inverter OG-Plus 5.48RM 2x Jinko Solar Panel Tiger 470W Mono-Facial for now ill be using 2nd hand 110Ah deep cycle batteries (x4) untill I can get myself a Pylontech US3000 biggest challenge I have at the moment is where to place the panels was thinking off building a "carport" in front of the house then I hit 2 birds with one stone, some shade and place for the panels, but not sure on the design and how the panels will be placed to be at the correct angle, will be spending some more time on the forum but if someone can point me in right direction ill appreciate as funds allow I will be adding more panels so not planning on using only 2x, I was thinking about 8 panels should be enough

  3. Looks Good - you can get the tubular plastic things at builders - I think I paid R50 for R4m and a couple of bucks for the fittings The fan is an elegant and pretty robust solution

  4. I doubt that the installers you met, know better than the guys who make those batteries. According to Pylontech support, you can mix them, just contact Pylontech support if in doubt. This is a response which I got from Pylontech, not installers, ''And yes, you could connect UP5000 to the 4 US2000, but you need to use the new UP5000 as the master battery''.

  6. Although not in SA an image that a school friend sent me. He does gutter replacements with a product called Gutterglove which prevents leaves settling in the gutters. Cheap way of storing water although it will test the efficiency of your plumbing ability.
