  1. Can you share the actual time of use screen so that we can see how it's setup?
  2. Get hubble to apply a firmware patch and check for bad cells. This is a known issue with the hubble AM2
  3. I'm also of the opinion that for most ZA houses 8kw is the right size inverter. With that put everything on essential. Larger items like geysers can be timed. Aircons are not THAT bad if they are inverter tech
  4. I think your general thinking is sound and well thought out. Batteries are whole other rabbit hole on their own. As you say, there are Hubble AM2 users who have had no or little issues. What about the AM5? Benefit of the Hubbles and Greenrich is that they are not limited on discharge, unlike the Pylontech and Dyness. This is more ciritcal in loadshedding though so you may need to be hawk-like in those situations if you get a Pylon/Dyness vs say a Hubble/Greerich

  9. The graph timings look funny - unless its a Time setting issue but you shouldn't have PV at 00:00 - unless i am misreading this Try selecting Zero export to CT and set your 07:00 - 13:00 slots to something lower like 45% - PV should charge yuo up

  11. Yeah you need to watch that MPPT minimum in order for it to start. You can use any panel, however you need to watch the voltage and current top ends else you'll blow things

  15. 3xDyness 48100 of varying ages. Oldest is 18months, youngest is 1 month. Never had an issue with them at all

  18. A heatpump is actually a pretty good idea, it uses less power to heat the water compared to a traditional element. So you wouldn't need full batteries, just enough juice to draw between 1 and 2kWh from them, especially for the morning run.

  20. The ticks for System1 grid are to enable the battery to be topped up to that % by the grid. If there is no tick it wont top up the battery using grid
  21. Can you share your System2 screen? By nature the inverter will dip into the grid (when its there) in order to balance the power needs between the house, PV and battery. For example, If the house suddenly requests 2kw of power - the MPPTs can take a second or 2 to react to this and in that gap the inverter will use grid until the other sources react. There is no setting on the SS currently to switch off grid during a period. Edit: Oh and with your SOC settings so high (80%) even for daytime hours the system will use the grid to power loads until that SOC is reached, e.g. say its 9am and battery is only at 40% because you had overnight loadshedding, until the battery gets to 80% it will use grid to supplement PV. If you want it to use PV and not grid during sun hours set the SOC to something lower then tick Prioritise Load on System2
  22. Luxpower doesn't seem to have this issue - there is a setting to get the load to be mainly powered from the grid and then PV charges the battery.
  23. Yeah the Luxpowers ARE quite noisy - you can change the fan speed curve on them but they are not ideal for installation near where humans would regularly sit
  24. There are several schools of thought - however spending an extra 22k over and above your solar system might not be the best use of the money. 1. You could add the geyser to the non-essentials load and still be able to push excess solar to it. This, however, only works when there is Eskom available 2. You could add the geyser to the AUX if you are getting a Sunsynk / Deye inverter. Then when batteries are at x% (user defined) the geyser is powered by solar, below that the geyser uses Eskom 3. You could put the geyser on the essentials load and power it as normal from solar. You will then need to change some of your charging habits to make best use of the solar hours... your morning heating slot could then be configured to use some battery or run it from Eskom. That 22k for the geyser conversion could buy you more panels or another battery and benefit the whole house vs only being put to use for the geyser.
  25. Never seen that before - did a wipe down help? If not then try get it replaced
