F41 Error on Sunsynk 5.5kw Inverter
Not sure about the whatsapp group but you can request a firmware upgrade online. If you have the sunsynk dongle and are using sunsynk connect then go here If you are using the Solarman Dongle and are using Solarman app then send an email to Nancy <[email protected]>

Dyness 5.12kWh Block idle discharge?
No Not all - it depends on the battery manufacturer. The usual Dyness, Pylontech (and others) are 0.5C so limited to max 50% output. You then get 1C batteries (Revov, Greenrich, Hubble) that allow you the full output
-
Dyness 5.12kWh Block idle discharge?
You don't NEED 2 - you can work with 1 but it limits how much you can draw (to 2.4kw). 2 is better as it gives you the full 5kw draw.
-
Dyness 5.12kWh Block idle discharge?
The inverter is usually powered from the battery so that could explain some of the draw

Wrong Values from Solar Assistant on Sunsynk 5.32kwh
Some of these batteries have issues like this. I ended up just using the Inverter Values. I'd suggest logging this with the SA dev and hopefully they patch it in a future release

Connecting
By tester do you mean geyser / water heater? Yes you can connect it up to Aux if you wish. You could also leave it on non-essentials and if the CT coil has been installed properly your inverter can push the excess sun to it

Deye 8Kw or 2 x Lux Sna5000, help me decide please for my environment.
The SN5000 is a level lower than the SS/Deye 5k. Not to say its not capable - it is, but it doesn't feedback to non-essentials, passthrough etc. They do have the more expensive version (LXP xxx) that is equally priced with the SS/Deye

Deye 8Kw or 2 x Lux Sna5000, help me decide please for my environment.
I fit into that bucket of buying 1 5kw in 2021 then a 2nd in 2023 - the boards a physically different but i managed to get both mine to parallel with no issues. Also managed to upgrade the software so that they were the same. Im not negating the perception that SS is having support issues - just that sometimes the bad news gets the headlines

SunSynk 5kW, 8kW and 12kW latest firmware version

Simple Sunsynk + Dyness
The limit is based on the VOC of the panels you are installing. You shouldn't go above 425 or so volts per MPPT.

UNDERSTANDING A LITHIUM BATTERY CYCLE
DOD should be communicated by the manufacturer as its the lowest the battery can go without actively harming the cells over a period of time. For lithium it's usually 80-90% A cycle is typically a discharge and charge of the battery to the minimums or to 100%. I say typically because different manufacturers calculate this differently. Micor discharge and charges that at up to a full discharge and charge count towards 1 cycle.... Typically

How Sunsynk bricked my 8kw inverter after a software update
I think it's been a situation growing too fast and not backfilling on the support side enough... I could be wrong. Hope the service levels improve

Dyness BMS - what should I see to make sure it's all correct?
The screen you see on LiBMS 03 is the correct one. The one showing all that extra detail is not for Lithium batteries with comms. You won't be able to see individual battery or cell info just from the inverter. Adding something like Solar assistant with the relevant battery cables will help. Are your 2batteries connected with a comms cable as well? If so then the BMS knows about them both. BMS will manage the charge and discharge amps based on variables incl load, temp, SOC etc based on the max values you have set (for both grid and PV)

How Sunsynk bricked my 8kw inverter after a software update
Then they need to sort out their actual process for applying a firmware update and let the end users know. Then also put in place safeguards (for the end users and for themselves as well).

Parallel 5kw Deye Inverter Battery Question
So based on the latest images the inverters are working well in tandem for load etc - its just the battery current side of things that look wonky - very bizarre.

How Sunsynk bricked my 8kw inverter after a software update
This is a bit disingenuous given that: its not stated on the SS website where a normal user would go to request the firmware - not even in fine print, as a pop up or warning other upgrades have been done with load and not crashed the inverter one cannot schedule the install - you request and they perform it when they can - they don't even give you a time window, e.g. between 1 and 2 pm tomorrow Unlike a windows / cellphone firmware update that tells you that your PC will need to reboot - that you need to save your work and that you wont be able to use it (or you will in the case of some updates) while the upgrade is going on.
