Anyone aware of the latest version for SunSynk 12kW 3Phase unit?

Currently running on SW Ver.:

M 2004-1084 / S  18-07 / C 1001-E014

Shot thanks, is it risky to upgrade the firmware or best to leave it on the version that comes with it

Unfortunately:

  • SunSynk does not publish change logs for the firmware
  • SunSynk does not publish what firmware version is current
  • SunSynk does not allow self service to upgrade/downgrade ourselves, but have to request.

Thus if you are not experiencing issues, then it's OK to not upgrade.

I've upgraded twice:
1) Requested SunSynk firmware upgrade in hope of fixing SoC issue with Hubble-AM2
This did not fix the SoC issue.
A Hubble-AM2 firmware upgraded did eventually fix the AM2 SoC issue.
Unfortunately, the SunSynk update had a charge priority problem.
2) Requested SunSynk firmware upgrade to fix charge priority problem.
The update did fix the issue.

I'm happy to stay on current firmware and monitor this thread for user notes.

SunSynk 12K   Updated

Original MCU versions:
SW Ver.:M 2004-1084 / S  18-07 / C 1001-E014

New MCU versions:

Only visible difference thus far is on Grid Settings.

Today I updated my 5kW:

Hello

Is the update procedure over the air - ie. should the wifi unit be online or do you get files to upload to unit?

Thanx

The update is OTA.
You need either the SunSynk or the SolarMan WiFi Dongles.
Fill in the form at:
   https://www.sunsynk.org/up-grade
to request a firmware upgrade and SunSynk support will OTA push the upgrade to the inverter.
Normally takes a day or three for the update to arrive.

@Derek Ramos Any difference you are seeing after the upgrade?

Hi All,

Had a new unit installed last week:

5Kw unit:

MCU: 3.3.7.4

C e4.2.4

SCU: 1.5.1.5

Would seem my communicator is up to date - I am going to wait a week or so, and request upgrade.

Hi Everyone,

I'm on M 3.3.7.0 / S 1.5.1.5 / C E.4.2.0

I've read that some users experience problems after an update as there needs to be no load on the system during the update and apparently there's no warning when the update will happen, is this true?

Thanks in advance.

I had several updates with load on the inverter and haven't had issues but I also heard, in some situations this could be an issue. The safest way would be to request an update and then bypass the inverter using your bypass/changeover switch. The update usually happens few hours after the request. Once you've seen the update is done, switch over to the inverter via the changeover switch again.

And please, let's use this thread for reporting of the newest versions of the firmware ONLY! Technical discussions and procedures can be discussed in other threads.

This is true, it generally happens within a working day or two of being requested.
It's a pity that SunSynk does not allow users to directly perform their own firmware updates. 😢

>experience problems after an update as there needs to be no load on the system during the update
I've requested two updates to fix issues that I was experiencing.
Had no problems due to inverter load.

It's a pity that SunSynk does not publish change logs so we could avoid requesting updates in the hope of fixing unknowns. 😢

Historically, with IoT devices, you tended to minimise firmware updates as there are risks with updates.
Today, due to security issues (Mira botnet, etc), it's necessary to upgrade firmware more often.
TIP: Keep your IoT devices in a "DMZ" network.

Did you notice any changes?

Nothing noticeable on the interface and still have the issue where my power dips for a couple of minutes at night if on battery without grid with F56 error, was hoping it would be solved
