I'm starting to suspect there might be bad batches of CFE / Raystech 5100s in the wild

February 23, 20233 yr 8 hours ago, Jeandre Dup said: Just for interest what was your problem and the solving? Similar to you, the system ran fine for about 1 month, then during Loadshedding it tripped under load (was about 5kw load, batteries should handle 10kw) with fault code F56. After that trip, batteries were not charging properly. Tripped again in a 4 hour load shedding slot with 1kw load. And then the batteries dropped from 51% to 1% in the same 4hour load shedding. SoC according to Smart BESS was very different for each battery (75 vs 35). I checked this after the first trip and notified my installer Got help from the battery support yesterday to get one of the batteries to charge properly by using AGM V mode (Float 53.6, Absorption 53.8) I still have a problem with the other battery refusing to charge. So for now, running off just the one. Edited February 23, 20233 yr by MeepMoop Oops

See my latest reply here for how we got 1 of them to charge: Edited February 23, 20233 yr by MeepMoop Added link
February 25, 20233 yr I have tryed to get some help from 8 of CF employes. And did not get any help yet. I will never use there products again.
February 25, 20233 yr @Jeandre Dup have you been added to a Tech Support Whatsapp group? You can contact Andeline @ +86 183 0301 4060 she can add you to a tech support group that should be able to assist you.
February 27, 20233 yr Good day she have add me on a whats app group yesterday so far no one assited me will keep a update when they assit
February 27, 20233 yr @Jeandre DupIt takes some time, but eventually they do help. Just ask that they update your BMS firmware to the latest version. They can do it remotely, but you have to connect the batteries to the SMART BESS app. Also see attached document for setting the comms that might help if you don't have it already CFE Inverter communication settings 1118.pdf

I've been added to a WhatsApp group but the communication in that group sucks, very little feedback and absolutely no real drive to find a resolution 😭
February 27, 20233 yr @isie I assume you tried the steps in the Manual? Also note that you have to switch 5g off on your network... Also, not sure if you saw this video for android: https://youtu.be/ehh9mTTp07I. I have IOS and it worked for me. I will also write on my Technical Support Group stating that we in SA are in urgent need of support on these Batteries....Not sure if it will yield any results...but can only try...
February 28, 20233 yr 2 of my CFE batteries had low SOH (state of health). the one was 69%, the other 72%. I've removed those and they're being replaced under warranty. The remaining 4 batteries no longer vacillate between 90 and 100% all the time. they consistently sit around 99/100% so maybe check the SOH of each battery....
February 28, 20233 yr Does anyone have any contacts for a CFE installer in JHB? Owen, Ryan etc don’t answer their phones. 4 batteries on two separate inverters still not working after 3 months of endless attempts and my installer is clueless. Desperate for someone who can help locally.

I have a luxpower 5kva SNA and noticed today I'm having the same issue, battery that is not even a month old. No PV yet but drains to 90% then import from grid to charge. Today I was watching the app. Battery drained to 89% imported from grid for a then stopped importing and still on 89%.https://ibb.co/MhxBxbs Hi did you follow the YouTube video i posted earlier. I just followed it amd ot worked on IOS. Its seems thats its standard for the batteries to drain down to 89% and then charge back up. The Tech support from china did a BMS update on my batteries and now it goes to 94% and the charge back up when PV is available. Not ideal but better than going down to 89%

Desperate for someone who can help locally. Maybe speak to Patrick from Solar Panel Energy in Vanderbijlpark he was the most helpful. They are resellers, but maybe they can assist with a good installer. I also agree the guys from CNBM Solar are not helpful at all

You can do so by holding down the little square reset button (near the LAN ports) for a few seconds until the run light flickers a few times. That was the missing step for me when I struggled to add my batteries
March 1, 20233 yr @MeepMoopgood point. Thanks. Also get Adeline +86 183 0301 4060 to add you to the Tech support whatsapp group from China. They are slow to respond, but eventually they help. They might see the need for better support if more people harass them
