  • Hello, I'm calling from Italy, I have a problem with the storage batteries. I have a growatt sfh 5000 inverter and CFE 5100 batteries. The batteries cannot hold the voltage and therefore shut down.

  • hehe me too - i've even offered to re-translate everything for them

  • Its not our inverters. Its the CFE Batteries. How is it possible that we all have the same problem with CFE Batteries but different inveters.

Good morning members! So yesterday i evently get help they did a update on my battries but no luck this moring at 25percent it still go to 1 percent

@Jeandre Dup did you check the SOH (state of health) of the batteries?  Also maybe ask your installer to chexk the connection and dipswitch settings. If the batteries are faulty they mist replace them under warranty. I must say my batteries are performing well after the BMS firmware update.

I agree with @PieterO. My Raystech batteries with the same issue were replaced under warranty. (I was lucky enough to have an installer that handled it for me)

Hi

Does anyone have a problem with the smart bess app. This morning it was working but now it says username or password err. But i didnt change anything

I have the same problem. The server seems to go down every few weeks, last time it lost all the past history in the graphs!

Hi.

I cant log in to even check my stats. I can create a new profile but cant register the battery. Just says error. So i know its the app and not the battery. Cant even change password thennit says profile error

Is there maybe a other app that works with in place of this smart bess app

Hi are there another app that we can use maybe with more details also.

Hi, unfortunately I am not aware of any other app. Maybe someone in this forum knows of another app to use.  I see the Smart BESS App is still down.  Also don't get any support from the Technical WhatsApp Group.

Hi everyone, seems like the app for IOS is a big problem. Had family over the weekend and used one of their android phones and the batteries connected immediately and was online. Even showed on the IOS app.

Apparently their worked on the servers over the weekend and some accounts got lost. Everytime i tried to log in it gave a password or username error. I did get an answer out of one of the technicians that explained the obove regarding the accounts and said to just register again.

When i registered again i could log in. If your account was not lost you will get a message that states the account exists already. Now i have to get someone with a android phone to bind the batteries again. 🙈

Hope this helps.

Finally got the BMS app to work again iOS.  Had to re-register my account and could then re bind my batteries.  So all working again.  However, technical support for these batteries is disappointing.

Hi, I am Dave.  I am using a Mecer 5kVa Axpert Inverter.  No solar panels.  Using Eskom to charge a CFE 5100 S battery.

I have not been able to connect directly to the CFE WiFi.  But often when my battery reaches full charge it shows a warning light and the Inverter shuts off completely.  I have WatchPower connected to the inverter, but it does not show the battery error.  I now need to connect the battery WiFi with Smart Bess in order to monitor what is happening.

Can anybody help me do this please ?  I am 70 years old and would need clear step by step help.

New to forum,  any update on the firmware ,did anyone be successful with the firmware upgrade . I have the cycling of soc from 100 to 90. I can live with this but when the soc reaches 90 then the charge grid cycle starts and drops my pv production . Anyone with the same problem  if so any work around. It's for a client so u dont have have access to settings all the time.

Good day can you guys tel me how to check the state of health of each battery. last night the technical team asked last night 23H00 if they can upgrade the batterys till now they did not do it

Hi, if its a Sunsynk Inverter you can go to the Settings, then go to the Li BMS on the inverter itself.  See below:

How do you know they did not do it?  It should happen in the background.

@Huzafa I have never experience the grid charge.  Maybe check the Timer Settings on the inverter.  Also I would suggest you do a BMS Upgrade the Battery/ies will then cycle between 100% and 95% and see if that resolves the issue.  Please check pervious posts on this topic to get connected to a Technical Team via WhatsApp.  Also, you have to connect the Batteries to the Smart BESS App for them to update the BMS.

How old are your batteries?

I'm starting to suspect there might be bad batches of CFE / Raystech 5100s in the wild

Similar to you, the system ran fine for about 1 month, then during Loadshedding it tripped under load (was about 5kw load, batteries should handle 10kw) with fault code F56.

After that trip, batteries were not charging properly. Tripped again in a 4 hour load shedding slot with 1kw load. And then the batteries dropped from 51% to 1% in the same 4hour load shedding.

SoC according to Smart BESS was very different for each battery (75 vs 35). I checked this after the first trip and notified my installer

Got help from the battery support yesterday to get one of the batteries to charge properly by using AGM V mode (Float 53.6, Absorption 53.8)

I still have a problem with the other battery refusing to charge. So for now, running off just the one.

I have a Deye inverter. Last time they did a upgrade as they are saying the battery after the update is switched off. I hade to switch them on again

@MeepMoop thank you for sharing this... Just a question:  In normal operation does your batteries also charge up to 100% and then immediately the system drops the PV and uses battery even with PV available it then slowly drains the battery to 89% by blending a little bit of PV with Battery to supply the load and then charge it back up...  Not sure if there is going to be a BMS fix for this as well?

Finally got some panels. And yes, the batteries do cycle between 90 and 100%.

Asked Raystech support and they said "yes it's normal". 🙄

Should be very similar on Deye. Sunsynk is a Deye rebrand

@MeepMoop No not nomal.  All other 5.1kw Lithium Ion Batteries stay at 100%.  Its just these CFE's that discharge immediately when it gets to 100%.  Very irritating as it means that you will go into the night with 5 - 10% less battery.  See below:  I am fighting with the CFE Technical Team to fix this... maybe you can Raystech Support to do the same?

I agree that it shouldn't be the case. I'll see if they have something planned to fix it

My batteries was always 100 percent full but now it is the same if it idle at 100 percent now it will take power out of the batteries but the sun shining good! I will not use any of cf batteries or rebrands like ouco rentech again! Will use Solar MD in the future

Agreed. Trash BMS on Raystech batteries
