March 13, 20233 yr Hello I switched to firmware 90.09 a few days ago and I notice increased efficiency both during gray days and bright sunshine. The production curve is more linear than before. Only problem I have an eeprom fault return but the solar inverter seems to work well. Is this normal or should I reflash?
March 13, 20233 yr it seems we all have this error except on firmware 72.62 and 72.66 (only for Axpert with 28066 based DSP) Personally I didn't notice any issue with this error maybe it's just bad checksum control

The new oem version 72.66 doesnt give eprom error, but need to be patched if @Coulomb have time to do it.
March 13, 20233 yr I read that manufacturers protect their product against copies. Perhaps the eeprom error is the consequence of this by a response to a non-compliant internal query.
April 19, 20233 yr Hello guys, So the official 72.66 version (from mpp solar, for 8048Max https://www.mppsolar.com/v3/8048maxmppt/) can be installed on the easun smw 8kw? Last week I bricked my Easun igrid sv4, with error 32 (I could not reflash anymore the dsp) and now I ordered the smw 8kw. So, because of that, I just want to be sure, not to brick also this new inverter. Thanks! Edit: or one of the voltronic ftp? if yes, what is with the serial numbers from the filename? April 19, 20233 yr Hi Guys, I have the Axpert MAX 8KW inverter MKS2-8000 as per ICC and another windows software. Currently I have Firmware version Main CPU 46.02 and Remote Panel 12.13 Which Firmware can I use to upgrade and what would be the benefits for the MPPT? Please can you advise?

The Mpp Solar archive does not contains the "ArenaINVReflashTool.exe", but in the pdf file they are talking about same flasher tool. So the answer it is any of them.

I think that perhaps each firmware update file is intended for only one end user and one inverter. Or maybe the idea is to prevent confusion when one customer has several Voltronic inverters with potentially incompatible firmware, so as a matter of policy they include the serial number always. Edit: But generally any source is suitable. I note that there have occasionally been two firmware updates with the same version number and slightly different content. Also, firmware version numbers are these days far from unique, so you have to be careful that version 72.66 isn't for example for a completely different model. My PF0.8 inverters from 2016 came with either 72.40 or 72.60, I can't recall. Obviously these are a very different beast to the Axpert Max models. For whatever reason, the 7x.xx version numbers are the most overlapped. They must love sevens over there at Voltronic HQ. Edited April 19, 20233 yr by Coulomb

There is another version that came out a few days later that is more normal, but it still reports the same 72.68 version number. ] Re: Main firmware version 72.68 for the Axpert Max E 8kW '28066. They have fiddled with the MPPT control code again; it will take me a little while to figure out what they've done. A recent change to check for a solar voltage of at least 250 V has gone; that always seemed a bit site specific to me. 250 V is a low voltage for one site and a high voltage for another site. But also the new control loop gain has gone; that makes me wonder if 72.68 really is later than 72.66. The modification date on the hex file for 72.68 is just 2 days ago, so I expect it is newer. Well, the changes are quite substantial, a lot more than you might guess from a "2 point" version number change. The vast majority of changes have increased the code size, so it looks like the MPPT control function changes buck the trend. That also makes me fairly sure that this is a genuine update, not some junior engineer running off a build without updating their source code from the master repository.

Actual version firmware Main CPU its 00046.08 and Secondary CPU firmware version its 00012.21. And i have 20 Canadian Solar panels 375 w , 41 v Voc (10 and 10 / string) which firmware do you recommend? Thank you for your answer!!!

There are so many variants, even just in the Max models: 7.2/8/10/11 kW, removable or round display, '2809 or '28066 processor, twin or not, duplex or not. So there is no firmware available to recommend, sorry. If you complain to your supplier, they may be able to send an update. That almost certainly won't fix it, but at least I or someone else can then patch it to fix this problem. Edit 2024/Feb: BTW, that inverter is a clone. "MPPSolar" is the legitimate reseller; "MPPT Solar" with the 'T' and the space is a clone. Or at least, it's not the well-known MPPSolar brand. And you have no firmware to replace it with if it fails, assuming you can unbrick it. Edit: However, IF yours has a removable display (I can't tell from the model name), AND you open it up and check that you have a '28066 processor per this post, then you could indeed try it. My guess, however, is that you have the '2809 processor, as other inverters with this combination (8 kW, E, '28066 non-twin) have come with 72.xx firmware. But it's still possible. May 10, 20233 yr I was firmware 46.0x in my Easun SMW 8 kW which I bought in february 2022. I flashed in autumn from initial firmware to firmware from this thread based on 90.06 (150V version). Now i use shadow management beta firmware from Georg594.
