What is the exact model? 8.2 kW is an unusual power rating. This might be a clone, in which case who knows what's in there.

Hello , i need as soon as possible if somebody from here has available, Firmware for 11kw Inverter. I need the firmware flashable with Reflesh Tool, not with Arena. Please if somebody has it let me know.

Unfortunately, the only firmware I'm aware of for 11 kW models comes with the Arena flash tool.

As a point of interest, does your model have the removable display, or the fixed colour display in the round LED ring?

@Coulomb any chance for that modified software for 11Kw ? I’m running the 91.70 version but didn’t fixed the problem, still stuck at 90v.

It's factory firmware version 91.70, with the premature float bug fixed, and Georg's patches for 200V minimum MPPT voltage. So the leading "2" indicates both patched firmware, and 200V.

Untested, use at your own risk.

Other readers: only use if you know that your DSP processor is a TMS320F28066, e.g. the factory firmware was version 73.xx.

Hi everone,

yesterday I was upgrade FW in my Easun SMW 8k with patched FW 90.09 175V version and all is ok. With original FW was on PV input voltage 90V with current to 0,5A from panels and over 0,5A voltage going up. Now going voltage up from current 0,1A. Yesterday was the same weather as today (inversion). Yesterday was power from PV 30-40W with current 0,2-0,3A and today was power over 100W (yesterday was 100W peak 2x for all day) with current 0,2-0,3A.

Original FW was 46.05 and display 112.11. First I upgrade display to 112.19 (from download section in this forum) and then I upgrade 8kW.zip 175V version (thank you Georg).

Fair to middling chance 😉  It's "just" one byte in the .inv file, and one more to change the displayed version number to 92.06, but I'd confused 91.04 and 92.04 (they are very similar), and it took a while to untangle all that.

So here it is:

MAX_8K_28066_9206 patched.zip

I hope that there isn't an official 92.06 (or 92.05), since that would add confusion.

As always, use at your own risk. It should be pretty safe because it's only two bytes different from 92.05, and you or someone else has presumably already tested that.

This is a TMS320F28066 firmware, so DO NOT USE THIS if your inverter has a TMS320F2809 dsp chip. For example, if your inverter works with main firmware version 90.06, or (I hope I got this right) with version 46.xx, then don't use this patched firmware.

Ignore the PV drop as I’ve swapped 2 panels between strings. Other then that works great.

@Coulomb do you know if there’s an option to adjust the voltage offset or calibrate the battery voltage on these inverters? As on mine it’s about 0.3v difference.

So... did the battery go all the way to bulk/absorb voltage? The day was too cloudless to make a difference, though.

If your weather forecast is like ours, today will also be hot and sunny, but cloudy and starting to rain Sunday. Then a week of rain, which should test the 90 V problem at least. So Sunday will be the best day to watch the battery voltage, I think.

Of course: Calibrating your inverter's battery voltage reading. MPPT2 did all the ramping I see.

Of course: Calibrating your inverter's battery voltage reading. MPPT2 did all the ramping I see.

The battery charged to bulk but had to use grid to help it (20kw) it’s not easy with our weather. The only time when the inverter is below 200v now it’s in the morning when there’s literally 0.1-0.3A which i think it’s normal. It’s really hard for me to judge how well the mppt is working but today i had clear skies and still didn’t climb over 3kw (with 6kw installed) but I’ll attribute this to the angle of the sun in winter etc, guess I’ll have to wait for winter to pass :)

Does the battery voltage calibration works on 8k and 11kw inverters ? As i see that the guide you made it’s for 5048?

Yes, though it's a pain as the relevant commands aren't passed through to the DSP by the display. So you have to make up an adapter cable and bypass the display. DO NOT plug directly into where the display plugs in, the adapter cable is mandatory.

If you don't want to bother with that, you could use the BTA0/1/2 commands, which are passed through. But they're inconvenient in other ways.

Is there any way to explain the process to a not so clued person ?:) i can make a cable etc but don’t want to make any permanent mistakes. It’s a but annoying when i have my 2 lifepo4 banks on a voltage and the inverter is showing 0.2-0.3v difference, i can probably take that into account when making the settings but for settings like “back to grid” increments are in 1v and sometimes that leaves some battery capacity not used.

I have been following your posts with great interest and thanks

I am in Europe and I have a (Tommatech)  11kW inverter that seems a clone or rebranded version of Voltronic / Axpert Max (https://tommatech.de/en/product/tommatech-11k-48v-plus-hv-mppt-11000w-p-smart-inverter-693.html )

It has right now original (factory) firmware 73.03 and a removable display.

I seem to have the PV dip issue on cloudy days around the 90V level, please see graphs from today:

I saw you recently posted the above patched firmware for Axpert Max 11kW to resolve the PV dip at:

I downloaded and unzipped the file and wanted to do a firmware upload via a USB / OTG cable per your instruction here: https://forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.php?p=87767#p87767 via the micro usb B socket of the inverter and a FAT32 USB stick. 

However in the unpacked zipped file there is no *.dex file but mostly *.inv files, please see screenshot below:

Please could you advise if I could still follow the above firmware upload procedure via a USB /OTG cable and USB FAT32 stick with an *.inv file? 

Or should I plan to do it via the RS232 / Serial cable with an adapter to USB and a windows laptop?

The .inv file is just a hex file, but the inv files all come with a new reflash tool, the Arena reflash tool. I suspect that there is a difference in reflash protocols between the reflash tools, so I'd guess that you can't just rename the .inv file to .hex and try to update using the OTG cable and USB drive.

Hi again, I am happy to report that thanks to Coulomb and Oakyz (the latter via PMs) I have successfully managed to upgrade my Axpert Max 11kW to the patched firmware 291.70 per the links above, via the Arena Flash tool and a RS232/usb cable. It went fairly easy and quickly no loud fans for less than 10 mins, the display of th einverter was showing UPG all the time

I hope this will improve my 90V dip on these gloomy days and I will be monitoring for any improvement

Hi,

i have 4 identical orange Axpert MAX1 8k (removable Display) from the same dealer as George594
but with the newer DSP board and the older Display Chip, all manufactured in 05/22

3 Inverters in 3Phase Configuration P1 P2 P3
1 Inverter Standalone (for testing, as a genset to battery charger and spare inverter)

Initially they came with
U1: 72.03
U2: 112.14

U2: flashed to bricked, then to 12.20 and now 12.21
(btw. i managed to fix the bricked display by putting it into another inverter and reflashed it well)

Earlier Update attempts to Gerges594´s patched version 90.08 failed as at this point of time i did not know about the newer DSP Chip issue.

As far as i can see the DSP Board has only 1 voltage regulator.

I want to update due to the sticky 90v issue mainly, but there are some other issues like daily short power output losses (3 sec. off/on) in single phases and every some days CAN bus Data losses which result in a Phase 1 Inverter Fault 80 with complete power loss on all 3 phases until full restart. Inverter P1 is connected to Pylontech US3000C Battery bank

So i guess for the U1 Update this Model needs the 92.xx version with the Arena flasher.

Is there a Version with 175V MPPT Startup Voltage for both MPPT Ports available or could it be done?
i have 2x6 300w Panels on 4 Tracker which gives around 195-220 Volt on load so a 200v version is too high for me. on P3 i have 1x7 300w Panels on 1 Tracker which gives around 250 volt, so this one also could live with 175v

Thank you for any help in advance, as you all do a much better job here than the vendor and its support.

Yes, it turns out that patching the voltage is only 5 locations, not too hard.

So this is patched firmware version 192.04 (yes, my numbering isn't all that consistent), based on factory firmware version 92.04, for Axpert Max 1 (with removable display) 8kW and the TMS320F28066 DSP chip. It fixes the premature float bug, and applies Georg's patch set (apart from one set that doesn't apply), for a minimum MPPT voltage of 175 V. Will not work with models with the '2809 chip. Do not use with other inverter models.

Original .inv (hex) file is dated 2022/Sep/22. So fairly recent.

Use at your own risk.
