July 6Jul 6 The link on the homepage takes me here: https://solardeity.co.za/pylontech-servicesupport/I don't see any option to do step 2:Register your old batteries for testing.Would be nice if the max credit you can receive was listed per battery model. That would give an indication of whether it would be worth my time to even request a trade-in quote or not. It would also be more efficient for the business because then they don't have to make unnecessary callouts. Edited July 6Jul 6 by chickenbeef

July 6Jul 6 I will also never touch or recommend them again. Similar experience. No support. Supplier said I must sort it out with importer. Solar Deity said my slave battery was overcharged? Battery was recycled by Solar Deity. Basically had to give the others away!

So, if the owner does not agree to this "discount", then he/she must again pay for shipping it back (plus packaging, plus other service charges???).May I suggest that Solar Deity be totally transparent on this "deal" of theirs, and disclose ALL costs, and "small print" right here in this Forum so that there can not be any "misunderstandings" of terms and conditions later on... Wording like "Thanks Jason I actually read their "small print" before I asked my questions - and in my opinion it does not address matters such as the cost of examining a battery for a "trade-in" when buying a new one. Now, to be clear, I do not have a Pylontech battery, and am thus not interested in this "deal", but I do strongly believe in old-school fairness and honesty in business. In this respect, I believe that owners of these batteries who are considering to trade them in for a bigger/better one should in fairness at least know what this evaluation would cost them - and should up-front also be given a range of fair trade-in values based on stated parameters to be evaluated. If, as an example, someone sends in a bloated Pylontech battery for evaluation thinking it is still worth R15 000.00, and this evaluation determines that the battery is worth only R5 000.00 but the evaluation process itself costs R10 000.00, then surely the owner would be better off to just keep that battery and buy a new battery, as he/she will be R5 000.00 worse off than if he did not trade in the old battery - don't you agree?

I completely agree with you—old-school fairness, honesty, and upfront transparency are exactly what the market needs, and they are the core values we are bringing back to the Pylontech service ecosystem in South Africa. To give everyone full clarity, our trade-in process operates exactly like selling or trading in a used car:Preliminary Remote Estimate (Completely FREE): The form and screenshots we requested are used to give you an initial estimate. Just like getting an online valuation for your car before driving to the dealership, this step costs you absolutely nothing and gives you a baseline idea of what your battery is worth.No-Obligation Final Inspection (Also FREE): If you feel our preliminary offer is fair and worth pursuing, you can then disconnect your battery and send it to our service center. We do not charge any inspection or evaluation fees.Final Offer & Transparent Transaction: Once our technicians inspect the physical battery, we will present you with a final, binding offer. If you agree to the value, we will issue a new official quotation reflecting the trade-in discount. You pay the balance, and you get your brand-new battery. If you decide not to proceed, you can simply take your battery back—no hidden fees, no catch. Our goal as the new official distributor and service agent isn't just to move boxes, but to rebuild trust through absolute transparency. Thank you for keeping us on our toes and ensuring the community's interests are protected.
