@AchmatI was on V3.8.7.0 and the guy called David modified version 3.8.6.9 and downgraded my inverter to V3.8.6.9 and all is good now. So far no reboots.

Will make it difficult to determine which one I'm on or if its been updated if they are going to keep the version number the same.

Is there any difference in the menus from from the previous v3.8.6.9 and the new one?

So the next official version that gets released will overwrite your version .9, and you'll be back to step 1.

Hope they have decent version control....

They don't automatically push updates, you have to request an update.

No, all looks the same.

Ok, so latest firmware that includes the fixes are V3.8.7.0 for the 8.8kW Sunsynk and V2.1.3.7 for the 5.5kW Sunsynk.

So far 26hours without problems. All fixed up and sorted.

Just requested the software update.

On Keith's latest videos I noticed that the COMM version is on e410 whereas my version is e406.

These software updates are super confusing. I requested latest update and my comm version is now VE 406 and control software is V0.1.3.6. Support assured me it’s the latest version. On a 5,5kw machine.

Also have the 5.5kw. I was on e406 and 2135. Support asked me to request e409 which I did.

They then installed 2136 but left the com on ver e406 and insisted update was done. Eventually after complaining, they then installed e409.

So now I’m on e409 and 2136

latest for 5.5kW is 2137 and 8.8kW is 3870

Any idea what’s the difference between the Com and MCU versions.

The inverter has 3 different controls. Communication CPU, Protocol Version and Control Software Version.

Waiting on the push update from their side but how would this update be applied locally?

Log into it from your pc by typing the local ip address in your browser.

Awesome, thank you.  Unfortunately in my case I have the GPRS logger so there is no way to log into the IP address and do a self upload.  I will have to rely on the bunch in China to push to inverter.  Unless there is another way to do a self install?

Can you connect your phone directly to the GPRS logger? Like when you set it up the first time? From there you should be able to get an ip address that you can connect to. I'm not sure if the GPRS logger has wifi also.

Not to my knowledge, the GPRS logger was literally plug and play with no setup required with 2 years free data.  The downfall is that one cannot connect to it locally for firmware upgrade.  However I remember now that in the Solarman pro account desktop version has a section where one can select and upload software.  @Achmat in theory you could do it yourself with the files Johann provided?

Keith once mentioned on the Sunsynk website that they are working on using one of the LAN ports to be able to plug into home network directly so in theory no need for loggers etc, however I have seen no progress on that development.

Yeah, I have tried the website way but there is no way of selecting the firmware. The whole interface is incomplete. They are busy working on a realtime monitoring platform and local connection, so that should also be deployed shortly.

BTW how were you able to get hold of the files?

I asked nicely :)

The web portal is unfinished, so there's no way of uploading the firmware to it to push to the inverter. If you want the new firmware installed I can request it directly to the team. Your SN is displayed in the pic. So let me know.

Thanks Johann. No need to upgrade at point unless there are new features on latest version? They upgraded me the other day to a newer version in any case. I am not using a smart load with reset issues that needs resolving so at this point all is well.

The pylontech bms can send through a force charge request to the sunsynk inverter.

My inverter is set to never charge from grid and minimum SOC is set to 10%.

As the battery uses some power while idling at 10%, the SOC dropped to 9%. At this stage the BMS sent a force charge request to the inverter and even though its set to never charge from the grid, the inverter started to charge the battery from the grid until the SOC was 15% and then the BMS stopped the force charge request.20200831_120841.thumb.jpg.0eda7c87fdcd624937bfad23e5974ee1.jpg
