Please can someone with Sunsynk experiance provide some advise . I have a Sunsynk 8kW Hybrid Inverter and Im having a tough time trying to adjust my settings to achieve the following. (Maybe its just not possible with the Sunsynk product as I am able to achieve with the Victron inverter system) I want my inverter to during peak daylight hours supply PV power to charge my battery, supply power to my essential loads (UPS) and my non essential loads. I want the inverter to prioratize the essentail loads and non essential loads during this period and balance provided to the batteries. I dont want to export to the grid for obvious reasons. During hours were there is no PV s…

Good day First disclaimer, I am an enduser and not technically proficient on solar at all. So if what I am trying to explain makes no sense then please forgive me. I have two 5kw Deye single phase inverters, setup as master and slave, with that I have 24 x 455w panels, and 5 x 5kw batteries The system has been running for 1029 days and for the first 908 days the behavior described below did not occur Each inverter has 12 panels linked to it, and standing in front of them looking at their live performance the load is (up to date 908) equally balanced - PV/Grid/Load/Batteries. So the one does not work harder or perform better than the other. Then on 10 April this year the P…

My current setup: Sunsynk 5kW hybrid inverter 2 × 5kWh Sunsynk lithium batteries 10 × 460W Canadian Solar panel Now would the following be beneficial: adding 2 more panels (for a total of 12 × 460W = 5,520W)? will the additional 2x panels be utilized and not wasted? (Obviously, if inverter and MPPT inputs are correctly configured) Will the extra panels be utilised? If Sunsynk 5kW hybrid inverter supports up to 6,500W DC input, then is the 5,520W within spec? Will inverter’s MPPTs track and harvest power from both strings efficiently? Will the extra panels help: Boost output during cloudy or low-light conditions? Charge the 10kWh battery bank more quickly Provide more s…

Sorry if this was already covered, if so please point me to the thread. What are the laws about how much space must be left around each panel or string? I assume as long as there is a way to access the panel for maintenance without if becoming unsafe for the person working on it, but there must be some written law/guidelines? And what about how much space can be left between the tile surface and the bottom of the panel?

Hi guys, I have a MaxxPower branded inverter (Voltronic Infini Vii) with RS232 port. There are no RS485J ports or Li Ion option in the inverter firmware. I want to connect this inverter with the BMS of my Nesr 100 AH 51.2 KWh battery. Is there any way for me to do so? Or will I have to upgrade my hardware. I'm looking for newer Li Ion supported firmware for my inverter and hoping that one of you have tried converting RS232 to the RS485J and somehow made it work! Any help would be appreciated.

I am busy with a panel installation and need to change between series connection and parallel connection of 4 panels at times when two of the panels will be 100% covered. I propose to do this with a limit switch and contactor. I am concerned about damaging the panels should they switch in full sunshine under load, can anyone advise if there is a procedure to do this safely please. Thanks Donald Pittendrigh

Good day, I have a 8kw sunsynk invertor with 2 x 5.12kw batteries, with 8 solar panels. I had my timer setup to use the batteries between 05:00 and 07:30 to 20%. However, of recent, it stops using the batteries at around 6:00 to about 42% and switches to grid. I have changed the timing thinking maybe that time slot is acting up but no luck. Please help.

I currently have 2 strings of 5 (550w artsolar panels). I'm planning on adding 2 more panels (one each per string) Artsolar changed their specs on the latest 550w panel so the new one is different.

For some arbitrary reason, our complex property insurance is limiting any "alternative energy generation system" to a maximum of 11kw storage and/or generation. No notice. Nothing. Obviously going to challenge it but if you have a system installed and you live in a complex or estate that does common insurance for the property, check they haven't stuck in this arbitrary clause.

Good day, When I bough the house there was solar installed. I have upgraded the inverter to Sunsynk 8kw, there was 12 x 265watt panels connected in 2 strings, then connected to 1 MPPT. Yesterday I replaced the 12 panels with 12 x JA Solar panels 615, 2 strings. But my Combiner box can take 5 strings but I see only 1 out for the MPPT. Is there a way with the current combinder box to the Output be 2 x for MPPT’s?

After some recent events and a discussion with my wife, it's been agreed that I'm not going up a ladder anymore (step ladder is OK-ish under conditions that we don't need to discuss here). And my panels need cleaning. I must have sent these thoughts into the ether for an algorithm to pick up. Bingo! FB showed me an advert for such a service. I'll add that I think there's a need for this. A guy a couple of houses up has a double story house with E and W facing strings. He probably can't even squirt them with the garden hose, and whilst somebody got the panels up there in the first place, not everybody wants to climb that sort of height, or be bothered with whethe…

Hi there Sorry if i'm posting in the wrong area. Our setup is 12 x 500w solar panels, 15/12 FreedomWon battery, 8kw sunsynk inverter I have power problems with my gaming pc: 3080ti, 9800x3d, super flower 1KW PSU. The problem is most of the time when grid goes off and comes back on my monitor will go off and i have to physically disconnect end reconnect the power from the monitor itself to get it to power on again. Everything else works 100%. It started happening more and more and my monitor main board went fault so I bought a new one. So after that hapeened I installed this africa surge WMC HiLo surge protector. i always keep my pc on and this weekend we had a power …

Good day, I bought a house with exciting solar system. I replaced the inverter with Sunsynk 8kw inverter. The PV panels on the roof are 12x 300watt, and 3x 5.1kw batteries. I am in the process to replace the panels and, bought 10 x JA solar panels 610watt. What will be the best and easiest way to connect these panels? What I can see the 12 x 300 been connected in 2 strings. Can just connect these 10 panels in 2 strings as well? Reason for replacing the panels, takes the whole day to charge the batteries. Regards Morne

Hello everyone, I have a question about setting up my solar panels with an MPPT inverter. I have 4 solar panels and I want to add 4 more, each with a voltage of 45V. I’m trying to figure out whether it’s better to connect all 8 panels in a single series or to split them into two groups of 4 panels each, connecting each group to separate MPPT inputs on the inverter. Could anyone share their experiences or recommendations on which configuration would provide better performance and efficiency? Thank you in advance for your help! This way, you can engage with the community and get insights based on others’ experiences.

I wish to connect 7 X TSM-545W-TS4 solar panels to my 5kW Deye inverter on PV1 MPPT input but my electrician says that the current rating of the solar panels is too high for the inverter MPPT input. I do not agree and need some advice. The inverter has 2 X MPPT inputs rated at 13A input current each (17A Isc) The TSM-545W-TS4 solar panels can deliver a higher current than the rating of the MPPT input. Common logic would say that this should not be an issue as the MPPT will only use the current it requires. Is it correct to say that one should only be concerned with the string voltage to ensure that does the latter not exceed the rating of the MPPT input? I have attached t…

Hey Guys, I currently have 8 545W panels connected in a 4P2S setup, this then runs into a single 6mm positive and 6mm negative solar cable via a MC4 4in1 Y connector to the inverter via the breaker box. Question I have is, should I rather run two 6mm cables and connect 4 panels to each cable. Just wondering if the cable may be limiting the current I am getting from the panels? Thanks.

Hi all, Here is a very interesting video by a physics professor regarding the real cost of solar power in the USA, and should be useful for people just starting (or thinking of starting) in solar PV. It should also, in my humble opinion, be interesting and educational for more experienced people and installers. Hope this link works... Enjoy

Morning All, So I bought the inverter mentioned in the title this weekend. It was an insurance recovery item, so got it pretty cheap. It's brand new, but does have a something blown, that we still trying to find. But, I was hoping someone perhaps had the service manual and the installers manual please? Myself and a friend (who has been repairing power electronics his entire career) are busy going through it, but was hoping there was a manual to make our lives a little easier. We connected up a 200Ah lifepo4 battery and it just beeped at us. I don't have 3 phase at home, so will probably take it to the wife's work this weekend to connect up and check it properly, or I'll n…

Good afternoon gentlemen: Due to limited roof space, 3 sets of 2 panels each have been fitted on a roof, facing west. north and east. Its a common roof and all cables are easily accessible from within the roof void A commercial installer suggested fitting optimisers. I have been waiting 18 months for him to call, but the job seems not to be worth his while Looking at the following sketch, the 3 pairs are connected in series Are 3 optimisers required, and where in the layout would they ideally be connected? Thank you
