  1. If you are looking for a 1c or bigger battery and approved by Solis, I can strongly recommend a Greenrich battery. With its 1.5c rating and warranty specs it is hard to find a worthy competitor and not expensive at all !!
  2. Hi @Labourer Batt pin 7 to Inv. pin 5 Batt pin 8 to inv pin 3 Should work 100%, enjoy
  3. You are absolutely right @ebrsa , the axpert types can only be used with no connection to the Escom grid at all. Typical on farms where the Escom grid is totally removed and the farmer is totally dependent on PV, batteries and a gennie. No rules apply !
  4. Hi John Excellent choices I will send you a PM regarding stock, pricing and availability, if you want to
  5. Thanks Riaan-H !!
  6. Hi Sorry Guys Just to explain what my concerns are: 1. 2 x 10kw would be used as MPPT controllers , no batteries connected. They will just generate PV and switch off when the grid fails. 2.The Sunsync single phase will have batteries and PV and will be connected to my essentials only 3. What will happen if the grid goes down, but the sunsync is still generating power I am scared that the 2 10kw's will think the grid is still available and start pushing power back into the grid ( Dangerous !! ) Is there perhape anything else thet I should consider ? Many thanks Chris
  7. HI Guys I need a little advice and ideas from the forum members. I attach hereto a drawing of my suggested installation and would like to know whether it will do the job, or am I missing on something here? Would you kindly make any suggestions and feel free to ask questions, Please Many thanks Chris-r
  8. We are currently out of stock, but should arrive within the next ten days, if you interested
  9. Can't agree more with @plonkster. I would also say that you have a bad battery there. Try the test Plonkster is suggesting, else remove one of the batteries and do the test whilst hooked up with battery cables and try to start your vehicle.
  10. Hi Marcel Balancing your batteries is of utmost importance if you are using lead acid/ agm / gel batteries. We have discussed this quite a few times on the forum already. All these types of batteries requires balancing, irrespective of the brand name. A set of batteries not equalised / balanced, will have a shorter lifetime than those balanced, and you will almost always end up with a battery in the bank, collapsing before the other 3 partners. We all know that it is not viable to replace 1 battery in a bank of 4, hence the need for a battery balancer. I found that the HA-02 balancer is doing a fine job in doing this and hence the reason for my distributing it in South Africa. I have sold many of them to the forum members and has never had anyone complaining about them not doing the job. Point is you have to balance the batteries, no matter what device you choose to do it with Hope this is of some use to you. Chris-R
  11. Sunsync is out of the box supplied with an app and Wi-Fi dongle. Monitoring as easy as pie!
  12. The setting should be set correctly on the inverter as to allow for max. amp output. The Pylontech battery warranty is not in any way linked to the amount of batteries, but to the max current drawn at any given time, of which data they have available in the BMS of each battery. Keeping in mind in what state our economy is at the moment, and given the fact that we are borrowing trillions again, I cannot see that Escom will be able to upkeep all the maintenance on all their old plants and keep everything going for much longer. ... I doubt ?? I can foresee that either we are going to get load shedding on a permanent basis or the tariffs are going to get sky high. This will mean that we will have to start looking after ourselves, and not wait for something to happen, which is never going to happen !!! My suggestion would be to go for the bigger inverter and add on batteries in time to come. I am totally off the grid, took my 3 years though, but man ....does it feel grate to carry on normally, when everybody else is in the DARK !!
  13. @SlimmJimm, The new Sunsync 5kva inverters are quite nice and are on the NRS approved list. Can be paralleled for future expansion and the prices are good. They are currently out of stock, but is expected any day now. 2 x 2.4kw pylontechs will do the thing! Hope this helps
  14. Hi Paul, Lithium is the way to go definitely! But it is still more expensive than gel/agm batteries. In the current market you will pay about R 20k for 4 x 200ah gel batteries and R29k for lithium batteries. Both giving you approximately 4.8kw/h More important is who you buy from! There are lithium and gel/agm's that I personally will never buy and so is there dealers from who I will never buy. Especially now, when everybody is climbing on the band wagon and in a year or two when you have a warranty claim, you find out that they are " No MORE " Be carefull with your descisions, and do not look at price only !!
  15. Sorry Gooseberry, Sold ! Chris-R
  16. Hi Guys I run four of the above units 2 each in parallel. I need to upgrade the firmware, currently on V 1.01 Anybody out there with a later firmware version? Or a link to a download site? Thanks Chris-R
  17. Things always happen for the best. Maybe it is the way it should be! regards
  18. Whilst on this topic, I have a brandnew (never out of the box) Goodwe 5kw inverter for sale. 2 years old, still have 3 years warranty left. New price +/- R30k - available for R19 995.00 Incl Vat. Delivery can be arranged anywhere in South Africa Chris-R
  19. Hi Guys I am running v3.0 beta currently and WOW !! what a brilliant experience! I can't wait for Manie to complete and promise you all - A lot of wonderfull features inside !! This is really worth the while waiting for !! I am not going to let the cat out of the bag now, but just wait a little while and you will all be smiling! Everybody with a real ICC program will be able to upgrade to the new version. Cheers Chris-R
  20. n Infini 4kw super would be the nearest match for an Imeon 3.6kw
  21. Hi shanghailoz You have your setup for quite some time now. Is it still running ok? Did you have any hassle and most important, how is Growatt's after sales support? Your feedback will be highly appreciated Many thanks Chris-R
  22. Hi Riaan Any idea for somebody that can repair a 10kw infini inverter. Suspect the DC-Dc boost board is gone Thanks Chris-R
  23. Hi Nicholas I have experienced exactly the same problem with a set of 3 Infini's linked in parallel. What was the outcome of yours? Repaired and if so where? Will appreciate any help.
  24. Hi Jason I will PM you with a picture of the settings I use for the 5 x Pylontechs connected to 3 x 10kw Infini Inverters, later tonight. I also use the same program as you are, but not a "home-brewed" version of it. I am currently running on V3.beta with the following added features: 1. Victron energy meter integrated , ET112 for single phase and EM24 or ET340 for 3 phase. No more calculations for grid and load, but actual figures and accurate feedback figures to the grid, if you wish to. 2. Multiple inverters can now be used, on a single PI and all the figures will be combined on your dashboard. 3. In a grid format, all the relevant figures will be available per inverter, if required. I am very happy with what I have now, and must admit that I was very tempted to re-spray everything blue, but the cost of duco prevented me from doing it!🤣 lol I would suggest to just hang in there, the new one will be available VERY SOON !! Cheers Chris-R
  25. Chris-R replied to Heinds's topic in Batteries
Hi @Heinds, I know for a fact that the B4850 Dyness battery packs works with Axpert, Infini and Goodwe models. They have been thoroughly tested with these models over the last year and I was involved with some of the testing on the Axpert units. They are very similar to the Pylontech batteries, with most of the changes being in the BMS System. Unfortunately there is nobody in RSA bringing them into RSA in bulk quantities and are therefore a little more expensive than the pylontech's. As for the Dyness Powerbox - ... I cannot for sure say that it has been tested and has never seen it working myself. I have just send an email to Dyness and will let you know soonest. Regards
