MAGNETO ENERGY 14.43 KWH Lithium Battery Special While Stocks Last!!

Featured Replies

Great pricing indeed. My question to Magneto, End-users and Installers would be how good is the after-sales service experience. Having purchased from a different battery manufacturer recently am realising the HUGE value of having a great and competent backup and after-sales service team in case of cells not being balanced properly or other issues where installers may have missed some things including bad comms over CAN or RS485 or BMS issues. That said, this is a very attractive offering and when does the warranty begin, at system installation/commissioning  or from date of product manufacture?

Equally important is efficiency or speed to attend to issues as one may be left in the dark and if during diagnosis there's an offer for temporary replacement battery by manufacturer through their distributors, installers or retailers?

Most likely the best offer you will get anywhere.

Better than all black Friday deals I've seen....

Even second hand options is more expensive and 10y guarantee is as good as it gets.

Is this 15/16 cell batteries?

Just be a little bit careful here as the Magneto Evo range of batteries do not combine with other brands such as Pylontech. I bought such a battery to add to my solar system, only to be advised by the supplier that it cannot work with other manufacturers' batteries. They would not take it back and I now have it sitting in my garage. Sad waste of money. but Caveat Emptor as the saying goes.

Don't know if this is a discount on prices of say 3 weeks ago. I'm just blown away by how far battery prices have dropped since about 3 years ago. Back then you were paying about this price for a 5kWh battery (adjusted for inflation, and depending on make/model). Now you're getting a 14kWh battery, and the cost of storage has dropped to about 50c per kWh cycled. Had I known this, would I have maybe waited and struggled and sworn all through loadshedding.

Hi Charles typically most battery manufacturers specify that you can not mix different brand batteries their BMS technology may differ or the cell layout and chemistry may differ.

Pylontech will not honor their warranty if you mix their batteries with other brands and the same goes for Freedom Won Hubble lithium Greenrich Volta and any other brand in the market.

In some cases the same brand has issues with different models like the Freedom Won Etower cannot mix with Home Light models and Hubble the AM2 cannot mix with AM5 due to different BMS Configuration and Cell technology voltage ranges of the cells differ so it is impossible to have a batteries of every make and brand to be able to work with each other on a common DC bus.

I hope this clarifies matters?

I would also recommend selling the New battery you have on the Powerforum Classifieds ads section.

You cannot mix different battery brands as far as I know. This one's on you mate.

Hello @Moffat we have sold a lot of Magneto Energy Batteries in the past and we can only say that they offer the best after sales service they are backed by a very large Commercial company and they cover every major town and city in South Africa the batteries are compatible with most major brands of inverters and their CAN RS485 Comms function well they have very good after sales technical team that will help installers with firmware updates and technical support.

I have had scenarios in the past where their technical guys would actually go to the site to assist and when we had a faulty battery they would literally send a replacement to the clients location before taking the faulty unit back.

As far as I know their warranty is a swap out warranty meaning they don't typically repair the faulty unit they replace it with a new one.

I hope that covers your questions relating to their Support and Service.

Hi All

Massive Special on the 10 Year Warranty 14.34 KWH Magneto EVO 280 Battery

Hi, I have ordered one, thanks! I've looked through the technical specs and haven't been able to find details of the battery terminal dimensions. Do you have these? Need to get some cables made up for when the battery arrives as I'll struggle to wait once it's sitting next to my inverter 😂

Standard M8 Lugs paired the cable size you would use.

Stupid question - reviewing the battery manual you clealy have an option to link the batteries in parallel, specifically the EVO280 - similar to the pylontech and Bluenova stacking - Battery > battery > battery > battery > fuse > inverter

However when reading the manual, it suggests to rather go battery > fuse > busbar > fuse > inverter.

Obviously for warranty purposes stick to the suggested method?

Many thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately I’ve missed the boat, having gone for the Combo promo of Solis s6 6kw and Freedom Won eTower. No complaints regarding Freedom Won tech guys, save for initial teething problems with comms cable, which eventually got sorted.

Excellent choice, the e-Tower is a 1C battery, and the Solis S6 is starting to become legendary.

Well if you want to sell yours I’m keen. Where are you based?

Just need to get another eTower once funds permit and before winter so that am sitting at least on 200ah, well less 20% to try and cover for the extra cloudy days.
