Hi. I am new to forum and am in the Garden Route. I have a 8kw Synsynk inverter, Sunsynk 10kw battery and 14x 500w solar panels. I manually heat 2x 150lt geysers with 2kw elements, connected with wifi & the CBi app. I am busy connecting a total of 12000lt of watertanks to run two houses (on one property.) I have purchased a 1.1kw pump, but have received conflicting advice on the pump. Apparently on start up, the amps can double or triple, and can either damage the solar panels or reduce the life of the battery. What options can I look at to protect my solar system from the pump start up, if necessary?

Hi all, I need some advice for you all. My country has started 12hr loadshedding (6hrs off, 6 on, 6 off and 6 on) and I want to buy solar system. I'm looking at vito 10.2kva hybrid inverter and 2 x 5.2 lithium batteries or 8.2kva hybrid and the 2 x batteries. My question is 1. will the batteries have enough time to charge 2 x 6hrs split or must I buy solar panels as well. 2.Also the roof space is not big (maybe 4- 6 panels will fit) will 4 panels be enough?. 3. Should I go for 8.2kva or 10.2kva (just want the lights and TV and phone charging) 4. Should I buy 5kva and more batteries?

I got a solar system installed the same day the meter reading was taken. So I made note of the reading 5 days passed and the meter didn’t move. Then it moved like 10kwh for a day and got stuck. Now I can see the number is stuck and not ticking past a certain point. Has anyone had a similar issue or know what I can do to try unstuck it.

Hi All, Not really "new" to solar, but I now have installed at how (been up and running since Thursday), yesterday being the first true test with washing, ironing etc. and happy to see consumption almost halved, and the weather was pretty meh yesterday as well Looking forward to the journey.

Good day, I am considering the implementation of a solar hybrid solution for my home that has 3 phase power. I have no 3 phase equipment. My power consumption is around 55kwh per day. Major load items are 3 x Geysers, 1 x pool, Several computers/laptops, 2 x Fridge/Freezers, Stove, Kettle & microwave. I have been exploring installing a 12kw Sunsynk 3phase inverter with 10kw solar panels and 15kw freedomwon batteries. It would be the simplest integration, however, i have unbalanced loads. There are restrictions within the inverter as to the maximum load that can be supported per phase. Another school of thought is to convert to single phase, have mu…

Hi all ... unfortunately I've made the mistake of buying bits and pieces on special and now that I've got them from different shops I'm hoping they are all compatible?have bought some panels ,and inverter, and battery...but need some experienced advise on how to set them up ... panels are 550w, VOC 49.90v ,imp 41.96v, isc 14.00A,vmp 13.11A.... x12 Battery is five-star fs-g01-48200 51.2v l. Lipo Inverter is, SUN solar inverter I'm wanting to run battery less during the day (load shedding from 6am to 9pm ) I have a small 240v well pump 1/2 horse power maybe 3/4? and want to run DC lights and tv at night . 1, what configure should I do the panels ( bifoca…

Hi Everyone I have been following threads on the forum for a while, and have been helped immensely by it. I have recently completed an upgrade to my home inverter setup, including a upgraded inverter and some new out feed wiring. The inverter that I have installed has two outfeed circuits - a "Main Power" and a "Smart Power" Circuit. From the manual, it seems that the "Smart Circuit" is the essential loads - so when the inverter is running on battery, it will cut the "Main Loads" at a set battery level and just run the other circuit to conserve battery power. This appeals to me greatly, as my pool pump runs on the inverter, and if we have load shedding during a…

I have two strings of 5 x 550w JA Solar panels . My question is this, can I add two more panels to the one string or do the strings have to be equal, meaning six in each ? Also does the orientation need to be the same ? Both strings face 15 deg N (my prev post I said NW but I subsequently installed compass app on phone) , so could I add the additional two panels mounted against a close by parapet wall which faces 62 deg N (more direct facing to the early morning sun) ? Finally what should be used to clean the panels and how often ? I noticed quite of dust caking the surface.

I have Sunsynk 5 Kw inverter with 10 x 550w JA Solar panels (2 strings of 5) and 5.5 kwh Hubble AM2 producing power for 4 days. 1. I had read when I was considering systems that the best you can expect from your panels is 80% of their rating. I have not seen close to that. 5500w at 80% = 4400w . The most I have seen is =-3200w during "mid-day hours". I understand the Sunsynk only takes from the panels what is needed and therefore have created load of between 4500w and 5000w but still only 3200w from panels. It has been clear sky's. Both strings mounted at 26% inclination facing north west so get good sun. This week (mid winter) the panels 'work" between 10h00 a…

With the continuing loadshedding (and their proposed new normal of continuous loadshedding) I've decided to bite the bullet and get started on this road. Yes, I know I should have started ages ago but there's never enough time and budget is another factor to be considered. I've been a lurker on this forum for some time to collect ideas on what I think would be the best road for my needs. But lets start with the needs. I use about 600+ units per month with the geyser being the top dog gobbling roughly half of the average 20+ units that's used per day. The geyser has already been reined in with a Shelly 1PM and at least now I have a better handle on what's used when an…

Hi all! So so new to solar community, I purchased this Inverter due to the price and apparently being able to connect up to 8 via a dongle. I have 4 200Ah Allgrand VRLA gel batteries connected in s/p with 2kw of panels. So here is a conundrum for all the inverter specialists out there. This is my third post, hopefully someone will reply. This inverter has no battery selection type setting, no bulk setting in user mode, in fact there is only a user mode. Battery settings as follows. 1. Equalization. Which is a big no no for gel and according to Allgrand spec sheet. 2. Float 13.6 Allgrand spec 3. High voltage cut off. 4. Low voltage cut of…

I really need to add an extra battery to my SunSynk 8.8kW system, I currently have two X-100s which have worked well for the last 36 months. I re-arranged my panels onto differet facing roof sections and managed to get an extra 4kWh a day in Winter, but now need to store it. After advise from a Hubble partner I tried adding an AM-2, it does work, but as the Cells/BMSs are incompatible I only get an extra 2kWh storage from the AM-2. So I need to replace the X-100s- with either X-101s, or AM-2s. Looking at the price of new batteries, is there a market for old X-100s? Or do I just need to write them off as an expensive experience? Thanks, Stev…

Hi All. Its been my first week after my installation (8kva Deye Inverter, 2 x Dyness 5.12kwh Lithium and 10 JA Solar panels 550w) My whole house is connected to the inverter, except for two ovens and one geyser. City Power/Eskom is on 3 phase pre-paid. Been happy so far, except that I have a Efergy monitor (real time energy monitor) connected to my Eskom 3phase feed into my home and it fluctuates at about 0.5Kw. (With all appliances connected to the Eskom feed off) Not a lot but it does add up over time. My installer say it is normal but that does not make sense to me. Has anyone had a similar experience? Strange thing is that if I switch my Main …

Good day, I have 6 x 540w panels conected in series on one string of my luxpower 5kw inverter. My battery is siting on 35%, with full sunlight on panels the inverter only shows a pv input of 1400w, 227V. should this pv input not be closer to 3000w? Power consumption in house at that time is only 700w

Good day guys, Let me start out by saying, howziiit! I am dumb when it come to inverter/solar systems. . 10kva Hanchu ESS inverter with a single Hanchu 9.4kwh battery and 10x 430watt longi panels. So here is my problem, I have a full Hanchu ess setup. So, my inverter has been tripping my pre-paid meter, but not because of backfeeding to the grid. or atleast, i dont think so. My inverter bms setting is set to "user defined" because if i try and set it to its native battery type for correct bms settings, it trips my meter immediately and it shows on my meter " unsafe". My prepaid meter is a 60amp breaker. I'm starting to think the battery charge draw…

Hi All I'm also new I have settled for: Inverter: 8Kw Deye Battery: 12.5kw Felicity Solar Battery Max output: 120amp giving me about 5.7kw backup power. I will add another battery in 6 months to give me 25Kw Backup. I intend to use 160amp from the two batteries to give me 7680watt for backup if needed. PV: 8 x 600w Canadian Solar (4 - SE and 4 - NW) I have an existing setup 2400w (2x 1200 Hoymiles ) 4x330w CNBM & 4x375w Canadian Solar. I will be using the GEN/MI port to integrate this. Load Non Essential: Geyser - CBI Astute Pool - CBI Astute Stove - Electric - I'm keeping it that way. All other Essential load.

Hi I am new to the solar world, and just got a 12k Luxpower Inverter installed at my home with 22 595W panels over 3 strings & 30KwH of lithium storage. When the system was installed in March I was getting production from all 3 strings until mid April, then PV2 stopped producing and just went on standby mode. A couple weeks ago it rained for a week straight and it came back on to supply for 6 days. Once it got sunny again, it stopped producing from PV2 again. The P1 & PV3 strings usually supply my daily needs, but last weekend I had heavy energy users at my airbnb and had to draw from the grid at nights because the batteries weren't getting sufficiently …

Hi all , I’m pretty new to having a solar inverter so my question is how many panels would it take to charge my setup ? Some info , I have a 8kw deye hybrid inverter , 16x 550w PV and 5x 5kw Hubble batteries right now when checking the status of charging the batteries through the PV it’s showing between 2.5-3kw from 10am but I find that it doesn’t have enough time to charge when sunsets at 5ish ( it’s winter now so it’s early) . I thought getting 16PV would be enough , and I get that I’m not going to use 100% of its capability but at this point I’m not even getting close to 50% , roughly 35-38% at its peak When sun is out a…

Dear all, just starting with solar and have been reading and assimilating a lot of information in order to design my system. I have now settled in a design and have purchased the following inverter: DEYE SUN-12K-SG04LP3-EU (see attached specification sheet) and I am trying to decide on the panels - currently thinking to get between 18 or 21 of the Canadian Solar 665W CS7N-665MB-AG panels (see attached spec sheet). or 24 PV panels from JaSolar JAM72S30 545 or 550/MR (see link for spec) https://www.jasolar.com/uploadfile/2022/0511/20220511060835815.pdf My two questions are: 1. would these panels work with the inverter? based on my knowledge …
