Not sure how installers are able to keep servicing these units. My installer took 30 or so back last year from different locations because of the BMS system. He says he will not touch these batteries now for any new install. He said it was still early days for Sunsynk (back in Nov 2022) and said that his FreedomWon batteries have been trouble free. He is master installer with Sunsynk. His comments speak volumes ... Hubble put out a great advert - infinite cycles, but the fine print exonerates them.

All the Li battery manufacturers have enough clauses that basically make any warranty claim virtually impossible if they wish not to honor the warranty. The onus will be on you to prove the fault is theirs. With such clauses they even try to stop you from having too much insight it seems. Business acumen and common decency differentiates between those that honor their company reputation and those that are only interested in sales and profits.

After a few months it started providing about half the capacity. Took it in to hubble and and the tech reset the bms settings and it behaved for a few weeks but now it's back to its shenanigans. Looks like it needs to go back to hubble. Maybe permanently this time. @HubbleLithium Had the same issue. Had a cell that would drian to 2.9V while all other sat at 3.6V. This caused the battery to switch off. I could see this using PbmsTools. Took it to Hubble in Modderfontein whom sent it to Cape Town for cell replacement. Holding thumbs all is good now.
January 17, 20233 yr I've now tried a bms update to 1.5 from hubble seems to be behaving better since, but really need a 4 hour loadshedding from 6pm to 10pm to test it out. Fingers crossed. @swazz99jhbwhere can I get pbmstools to check the state of my cells?

Pbmstools 1st screen is real-time stats There is another where you can download the bms history that also proofed helpful. Edited January 17, 20233 yr by swazz99jhb More info

Unfortunately RIOT/CloudLink has been made very basic and does not report any technical details like cell voltages. We have to rely on tools like PBMStools to get the real picture. 😢

Not even by Hubble themselves as I had one connected and they couldn't pinpoint the issue via it.

Hubble will not request you to send the batteries in for testing all testing can be done remotely if you own a Cloudlink Sorry to say but Point 1 is a lie. My issues date between 22 November 2022 and 04 Januarie 2023 I had a cloudlink and had to buy a solarassistant cable so that I could do my own firmware update. With this cable and Pbmstools I had to advise them of the one cell draining to 2.9V vs all other sitting at 3.6V. Numerous tickets logged with them. Cloudlink is not worth the money in my experience.
January 20, 20233 yr Thx @swazz99jhb 🙏 I will look on the weekend. What cable I am using? Can I use the same cable as I used for the bms update?

January 20, 20233 yr Ok got it working. But it doesn't want to connect. I bought the SA cable(USB to serial) go where the wifi logger used to be. It says no serial comm detected.

January 20, 20233 yr You might have a "fake" cable and need to install a driver manually (the newer drivers have some fake-detection to prevent use)
