Hubble Lithium Battery AM-2 5.5kWh

Featured Replies

What is more confusing is that while the capacity of one is 28.5Ah, when run down so SOC is 0% it still shows a voltage reading of 49.8V which makes me doubt the accuracy of the capacity reading. How do I correct the capacity reading?

Set your inverter to User/Voltage mode, run the battery down below 20% ( <44v ) then charge back up to reset the SOC

Thx. How far below 44V as I have gone to 44 and then charged to 53.6 with no change. Battery still shows capacity as 28.5Ah

I've run to 5% initially to reset, but 28Ah is a bit low for a reading even from 20% charge

What's your charge settings? You should be reading 53.6v at full 42v at 0 and 44v at "back to grid"

Set to User/Voltage,Float + bulk 53.6v and let it run down and charge full

Done that so max of 53.6v was done starting from 44v but primary battery just will not show capacity of more than 28.5 so it goes down to 0% in a few hours despite te V still in the 49.5V range

TIP: Use pbmstools to get all sensor data from your batteries and compare.

for some info on pbmstools - there are a few posts in this thread which has some info and the download link and cable required. GIYF.

Had the same problem with mine. Like system32 said bpmstools is the best way to check.

Mine had 2 bad cells, still sitting in repairs for 5 weeks now, so good luck.

Just an update. Hubble replaced me with a brand new battery. So very happy with that.

Does seems that they want to keep customers happy, think they must just find a way to improve the process.

I have already replaced 3 of my clients Hubbles with another brand. Won’t be installing Hubble any longer with all the issues.

Which brand have you chosen?

So Hubble in Jhb did a BMS balance on the 3 batteries we had with the same problem of max capacity being around 30Ah and now all seems fine.

Hubble recommend BMS balancing every 500 cycles and they can do this remotely.

This is just too much trouble ... and you have to outlay another R2-3K for the riot box.  Might as well go with another battery brand.  Hubbles are just too much trouble.

I had to buy a cable to confirm it was not the software.  Then I had to have the battery removed and waited a month for the repair.

At the moment the other manufacturers seem like a better deal considering the price point of Hubble.

First issue is to actually get Hubble to assist, even with the Cloudlink (RIOT) in place.
I found there support to be really poor to non existent, especially when using the online portal (hubble.raiseaticket.com).
I am still sitting with four AM2's with different firmware versions (purchased at the same time) - been requesting assistance for three months, in obtaining a new version so I may update all four batteries to same version, however still no assistance after having contacted them multiple times and through different channels.
I have another two installations coming up and following suite with @Leshen to opt for alternative battery brand at this stage.  SunSynk inverter with SunSynk batteries seems to be the most appropriate (Extended warranties), followed by BSL or FreedomWon.

I loggef my request at

[email protected]

and got support from Jason and Jesse in CT.

Booked my batteries in at Jhb branch and after about 10 days got them back fixed.

So I am pretty happy and now have contact details for remote support.

I agree the Riot & cables are an extra cost but it is the only way to assess the batteries individually.

Strange that the batteries have different firmware.
Hubble support sent me a link with the firmware and firmware utility.
I applied the firmware myself to my 4 batteries with a Windows Laptop and a USB/RS232 console cable.
Firmware update took about a minute per battery.
All good since then.

Totally agree - It is a very simple process and hence my frustration of why this is being held up in their support logging process.  I have all the required equipment (cables, Cloudlink, etc.) and simply require the software and confirmation from Hubble based on battery details.  I am not the only one who has/is experiencing this and have no issues with the product, other than the difficulty experienced with after sales support (Reputational damage).  Had the same issue with Cloudlink support some time back.
Have approached them through an alternative channel and hoping this receives some attention and leads to a resolution in this regard.
