May 17, 20251 yr Hey.Whenever I come across a website selling a unit that I'm interested in for way less than the competition, I want to do some due diligence and check them out first before buying. Has anyone heard of sun4safe.com? Apparently in PE, but there's no street number on their address and I can't find them on google street view. Also no telephone number listed and I can't get the owner of the domain as that info is listed. So I wondered if anyone here in PE had heard of them?Their Volta Stage 4 batteries are well below the next lowest priced supplier that I know of that is legit (UtilityPal), so I am curious what the deal is. I'll reach out in the week and sus it out, but if anyone here in the area knows them, please drop me a note.Much appreciated.
May 17, 20251 yr Domain registered in 2019 via GoDaddy, Site hosted on AWS. Ts&Cs reference South African things like the CPA, but the lack of actual street address and landline contact details makes me very waryAs always, if you can't visit them physically and collect, I would stay away

UtilityPal stocked the volta way cheaper than the competition, but I could call and speak to them, and they were legit fantastic to work with. These guys may or may not be.. I don't want to jump to a conclusion first without actually verifying it, hence the ask.I'll mail them in the week, get a number and follow up from there... may get someone in PE to go visit.

May 27, 20251 yr I to have seen this business, Listed in East London now. I made contact via email and got a swift response. When I ask for a physical address, the response was that they are not a walk in store.when I fist saw the address on the site, it was only a street name and suburb. I stay in EL and Bonza Bay Road is a long road. After my second email, which was never responded to, I see that now include additional information. Still the Business Park now listed only has office blocks and NO retail stores. So I think anyone thinks about using then, DONTVery suspiciousAnother online business SolarShopZA.com had the same item I was looking for, and much the same story. Now the website is no longer available

Which is irreversible. Lastly the "verified business" banner on their site is just an image. It doesn't click through to the independent site that gave them that rating. Major red flags. 99% sure it's a scam.

They may as well just have a sign, "EFT your money" to this account number and never see it again!
June 9, 20251 yr 🚩 WARNING: I checked this site — I would strongly advise against buying from Sun4Safe.com 🚩Here is what I found after doing a full check:The website lists the following VAT number: 4370313886I pulled the official company registration → Company:SOLAR (K2022/002691/07), VAT number 90xxxxxxx0, registered only on 13 December 2022, in Gauteng.The VAT number on the website does not match the official VAT number — this is illegal and a huge red flag.Other issues I verified:The listed address on Bonza Rd, East London → physically checked, no such company present at that location.No landline or verifiable phone number.A person called “Henry Thomas” contacted me → this name is already known in SA scam reports (investments, solar + electronics scams).🚩 This is a textbook fake solar shop setup — do not risk your money.If you were considering buying expensive equipment (panels, batteries, inverters) here: stop and go through a verified local supplier instead.Also — I’m seriously considering taking a deeper look from a security angle. I have the tools to do some white-hat testing on sites like this. If anyone behind this scam is reading: it might be worth thinking twice about trying to take advantage of people in this community.

June 16, 20251 yr This Address of - Helen Eve 11, Blackheath, Cape Town does not exist!! Closest address to that is - 11 Helene Ave, Blackheath, Cape Town, 7581, which seem to be a tyre shop. SUN4SAFE = Damn lame scammers!

July 4, 20251 yr That was so close. As close as hovering over approve. Something felt off so I rejected/declined.Glad I didn't complete that battery order.I'll go back to my regular supplier. Their technical specs are off on the site too. I wonder how many people have been scammed by these people.They are quick to respond to mails and are very accommodating when you ask questions.I suppose it's typical of scammers.

July 11, 20251 yr These guys sun4safe.com are 100% a SCAM. I went to their registered address after I told them I'm not EFT'ing them a cent until I see what I'm buying.I went to the registered office address and they don't exist, nor is there a tenant record. It's now clear why they don't talk credit card transaction and want you to EFT.Buyer be warned, you will get ripped off.
