Good day, We got a 8KW Deye invertor, 16 x 535w JA Pannels and 6 x Shoto Lithium Batteries. We are installing a second 8KW inverter with 16 x pannels, Inverters will be connected parralell and adding another 4 Shoto batteries. Batteries connected to a bus bar. What size Battery cable must I run from the bus bar to the invertors? And what AC cable size from inverters to DB? DB is 45m from invertors.

Hi, I keep tripping the house when I wire the astute controller to the geyser circuit breaker. The geyser has a 20A breaker. I take from the load of the breaker to the top of the controller L then a N to the neutral bar. I then take load of geyser into the bottom of the controller, switch power on and it trips. I then went and bought a 30A breaker for the geyser and the same thing happens. I have tested the astute controller by wiring it into the 10A light circuit breaker and it works without tripping. Any advise would be appreciated.

  3. I was chatting to a mate who does installations and he was saying that he is planning on replacing his DC fuses between his panels and inverter with DC breakers instead. He had heard that fuses were a fire risk and breakers are safer. That is the exact opposite of what I have heard and there are numerous reports from the Aussies about breakers/isolaters catching fire. If I look at commercially available combiner boxes they normally just have breakers. I watched a video where an installer was explaining that breakers cant always handle the load when they get turned off while the sun is shining and the panels are producing. The sparky in the vid explained tha…

Good Evening! I have this Magneto Inverter, i wanna use it offgrid only(No AC In) for lights and tv. I would like to find out what sizes of solar panels should i buy that will be compatible for the system. And what sizes of fuses, breakers do i need as i am buying the stuff bits by bits. I'll be charging the battery only by solar, not by grid/municipal power. Thank you

Good morning Forum, I'm looking for a wifi dongle for the Mecer SOL-I-AX-5P. Would something along these lines for Axpert System work on the mecer? - Voltronic Axpert Wi-Fi Module - RCT-AXPERT WIFI Or does anyone have another option they would recommend? Thank you.

  7. Hello - a quick question. Is it possible to provide an Alliance domestic heat pump controller with a contact closure (or similar) should one need to inhibit the heat pump during an outage/loadshedding - this is on the basis that the heat pump for example is fed from the essential section of the DB board and therefore is deriving it supply from the PV system. Would appreciate inputs Vaughan

Hi all I have a clone Axpert 4KW, purchased from TheSunPays along with 2 of their 48v 100ah LiFePO4 batteries. For obvious reasons I would like to have the BMS communicating with the inverter. According to TheSunPays, the inverter runs the voltronic protocol. Now, the battery has a 6pin RS232 Coms connector and the inverter an 8pin RS232 Coms connector. Would it be possible to have these communicate with the inverter? TheSunPays hasn't been of much help, first we are told we need to buy a Pylontech cable from Centurion Solar, then we need a different inverter, then the different inverter cant communicate with our batteries so we would need different …

I changed out my seplos today for a JK, the battery was already at 100% SOC when I removed the solis. The problem now is, the JK seems to be stuck on 70% SOC. I have used the settings from offgridgarage. What I have tried. Triggering a over charge alarm, whilst the app stated the battery is fully charged (yellow warning text), it didn't change the SOC. All cells are over the 100% v setting Any suggestions? What am I missing?

  10. Hi I do not know if this is the correct place to post this topic. I purchased a 6Kw generator many years ago before I installed an 8Kw inverter. I bought two 20l metal jerry cans and three 25l treated(red) plastic petrol storage cans. The metal jerry cans sometimes leak at the seal of the spout. I have since 3D printed thicker seals and have no more problems. The metal cans can also rust as there is a small amount of water in the petrol and can separate when stored. A bigger problem was with the treated plastic containers. I filled the containers and sealed them for when needed. I had stored them for quite a long time and when it came to using the fuel this is what I foun…

  14. Hi everyone, I’m looking into adding a genset to my current system as a last stop and potentially a means of disconnecting from the grid (in some way). The more I read, the more confused I get, with some referring to twice the size of the inverter others suggesting a small unit to only charge batteries etc. I’m hoping to clarify a few things here. As Eskom costs go up and they speak more about punishing solar users, this is more the route I’m looking at . My current system: We are a Family of 2, I have a 5K Sunsynk inverter, 2 x Freedom One 5Kwh lithium batteries and 8 panels. This has worked exceptionally well for the last 2 years. My geyser is stand alone solar and very…

  15. Hi peeps Please forgive me for the post but i need assistant with Solar Assistant connections I bought both USB serial cable (A) and USB RS485 (B) cable. B worked for a few minutes and disconnected and never connected again. I get the following error. I have 3 Raspberry PIs. i tried on 2 of them with the trial version It seems the cable connection is not found at all. It is connected to the RS485 port of SunSynk 8kw inverter. On the RPI i have 4 usb ports i tried between USB2.0 and USB3.0. It worked initially on USB3.0 and disconnected for good. I updated the Solar Assistant and i started having logs about "usb over current change" on the kernel logs …

After reading numerous posts on this subject, I thought I would consolidate the following: Having read the various SunSynk Manuals (3.6/5Kw and 8kw inverter), I still find the information regarding wire gauge sizing and fuse disconnect sizes for the batteries a tad bit confusing/contradictory. For instance, in the 3.6/5Kw manual, it states that the wire size for the battery connection should be 25mm but neglects to clarify if this is for a 5kw, 10Kw or 15kw battery? As the wire sizes are “apparently” different for each battery size respectively, if you order the 5kw vs 10Kw vs 15kw battery wire set for the SunSynks? BUT after ordering a 10Kw battery wire se…

  17. I am trying to put together a QUALITY small system for load shedding. Something a bit better and more modern than a mass produced trolley with lead acids and noise and modified sine etc (not that these solutions do not serve an important function) So if someone can help - the system I have in mind (for my staff) is something like this: Charger: Blue Smart IP65s Charger 12/5(1) 230V approx R 1.6k Battery: Blue Nova 13V Battery 22Ah = 286Wh approx R1.94k Inverter: VICTRON PHOENIX 12/375-230V VE. approx R 2.1k manual switch over. This is a system of very high quality even though very small - I canno…

  19. Dear community, I am unable to connect the U5648MS inverter via serial port to my computer running watchpower. When using the serial cable that came with the inverter in combination with a USB to serial adapter watchpower does not detect the inverter. However I replace the serial connection with a USB connection , watchpower does detect the inverter without problem. Question now is can you connect the U5648MS inverter via a serial connection to the watchpower application or is only via USB? What could be the cause of this problem? (tryingh to get support from MPP Solar but they are closed due to chinese new year) tnx

Hi guys. I have installed a 5kw Luxpower and Greenrich battery connected to 10x Canadian power 545watt panels. I still need to tidy up the system in terms of trunking and db boxes as I was using the old inverter and battery's installed footprint. I am at this stage only using 10% of the power generated by this system. Reason for this, I live in an old farm house. The house is approximately 100 years old. With every alteration a new DB was installed. Sorting the wiring is a huge headache as alterations of the roof makes acces to wiring near impossible. It seems I am going to have to follow the trend of adding a db. My plan is to move some of the load pool pump an…

https://ibb.co/VMxrLfm My parents have a Rebel inverter installed in their garage that's been working well for several years now. I have however noticed its dust filters on the sides have been solidified due to never being cleaned. I feel it would be more logical to just replace the filters, however I can't find it anywhere. I also can't locate any filter rolls that I can cut to size except Temu, which I'm skeptical of. Does anyone know where I can obtain replacement dust filters?

Good day. What is the right spec for the DC and AC surge protectors please? These differ from place to place and the sales people all say this is what they normally sell. Price also differs in hundreds at different places Thank you.

  23. Good day, I purchased SNA 5000 WPV inverter and want to use it with my LiFePO4 battery. The battery uses BMS manufactured by DALY, 15S/48V configuration controlling charging/discharging of 15 LiFePO4 cells 280Ah. I connected the battery but the inverter does not charge it. Do I have to use communication cable or can the inverter work with my battery without communication cable? The question might be trivial but here is the context: I had previously a different, 24V inverter that I used with 2 x 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 batteries in series and there was no need for communication cable, all was controlled by battery BMS. So why do I need a communication cable with Luxpower i…

  24. Hi Folks and a Blessed 2025! I hope I posted is in the right forum... I am trying to help out a family member with their solar system. Not sure why I keep trying when the obvious settings don’t work – probably OCD... I hate giving up... The folks at Solar Assistant have been very helpful and friendly, but no working config yet. 1) HzSolar 5kVa hybrid inverter From the Solar Assistant guys: "The HzSolar inverter / Xindun HP Plus looks like a rebranded Axpert inverter.” It looks pretty much identical to: https://www.xindunsolar.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/HP-Plus-Solar-Inverter-User-Manual.pdf RS48…
