  1. You can contact @Steve87
  2. Hi Woody. 3 x Us3000c batteries can deliver 5kw(+-100A) of power. The 35mm² cable can handle that but with 4 batteries I would by a extra cable pack. The 8kw can draw 190 Amp's from the batteries when pulling full load. You will have to limit that on the inverter to protect the batteries. For now the 160Amp fuses should be sufficient.
  3. Hi there. I believe It is possible if you use something like Solar assistant. Just not sure if this will be available on the Expert machine. Best will be to contact them.
  4. Here you can see that 5kw Kodak King can do more than 5kw load. This lasted for 3 min.
  5. Maybe have a look at the following. SUNSYNK 3.6KW POWERLYNK X ALL IN ONE INVERTER / 3.84KWH BATTERY PACK
  6. When using Solar Assistant no need for the Sunsynk App. Solar assistant will do its own totals from it connection. Just unplug the Sunsynk dongle then it cant Sync the time from sunsynk.
  7. I saw on the Fb page that someone said that there was an issue with the time zones and dates. This could have created havoc with the time settings.
  8. The best thing to do is just get Solar Assistant. No more issues. Sunsynk APP is useless and mostly offline.
  9. The BMS will sort it out
  10. I have 3 US3000C batteries. All bought at different times. Cycle count on them from oldest to newest. 738, 696, 469. No issues between them, Like JKKM said. Newest battery always the master.
  11. My Kodak King has been running for more than 3 years no issues.
  12. Hi McLarry. I would connect 2 panels in series. this gives you an open circuit voltage of 99V. That is enough to start your charging and far enough below your max of 150VDC. 6 panels will work. Connect in the following order. 2 in series en then all 3 strings in parallel. 2S 3P. You will need a combiner box with protection for this.
  13. Lightning strike on powerline feeding our shooting range. Popped all 3x 11kv arrestors at transformer. Popped the borehole pump controller box and the arrestor on the feed in side of inverter.
  14. Have a look at this one. I don't think the quality will be good for that price but you can decided that. Also have a look at the second one from Rhomberg.
  15. If you have an concern that the relay may fail, just use the normally close contact. Even if the coil fails the relay contact will stay in the closed position. This will create a permanent bond even when Eskom is on until you can replace the relay.
  16. From Sunday we have had some clouds that helps with the heat but not good for solar production. Yesterday 18:00 is was still 42º
  17. Surfix conductor doesn't need to be places in conduit. It however should be place in such a way that it cant get easy damaged. All connection must be enclosed. If you have rodents I would rather place everything in conduit, this doesn't mean that it won't get damaged by them. To be 100% sure use Bosal pipe.
  18. Secondhand panels won't bring in a lot of money currently. I would just buy an additional MPPT en connect the new panels to them.
  19. Hi jay-Dee. The Pylontech batteries will share the current between them, the up5000 battery will delivery more amps than Us3000. US3000 37AMP EACH UP5000 50 AMP EACH. One of my friends setup is an old 2000b and Up5000 connected together and the Up5000 delivers almost double the amp and also charges with double the amps.
  20. Insolated busbar would be my first choice(This will have to be done correctly) Don't want something to short out here😅. You can also double up on the supply cables from Main battery fuse.(This should be an easy job)
  21. Hi Wezho. It is the number of cycles the battery has done.
  22. Vacuum and Sf6 is n breeze. Still getting cold sweats when just thinking of closing oil filled breakers. We did not even have switching gear. Leather apron and welding helmet with welding gloves. Good old days🤣
