@Aartappel your problem is quite a generic one and I have seen a few different solutions that the farming community is deploying...Direct Solar panels on VFDs, some farmers creating micro Grids large in size and then installing their own MV transmission lines and then disconnecting the various Eskom incomer points. I have at least 3 users completed these projects & have done it in a staged approach but the savings and the benefits are there to witness. Those unreliable expensive Eskom points are worth shutting down & pocketing the ongoing costs into your own infrastructure.
I have been involved with especially ATESS and more recently over the last 2 yrs Megarevo Transformer based Hybrids and AC coupled Grid ties and DC coupled ATESS topology. The largest plant at 1.5MW carrying a base load of 700kW is in a factory with massive HVAC and high inductive loads. The Atess equipment is really robust and honestly can take a heavy punch with large motors starting and stopping...
Its just my personal opinion that the High frequency non transformer based inverters won't last long for the irrigation environment or SAs farming environment because we have harsh conditions and we require equipment that will last the next decade that is serviceable in the field.

The farming community are ripe to reap the rewards of solar power & with Diesel pricing very volatile id imagine it's going to accelerate...

The prices seem reasonable, not ridiculously low.
If you can collect and pay, I would say its legit.
I wouldn't put money in their account. Maybe someone in the area should visit them.

UPS mode has a shorter transfer time from mains loss to inverter power, used for sensitive electronic equipment.

The installation i did February the guest farm in the Drakensberg are saving R75K/ month so far. That equates to R900k/ year saving on Eskom bill. The system cost was R4.5 million so ROI 5 years. There is frequent power outage in the area due to the distance of Arial lines running through the mountains and lightning. The owners of the farm is very impressed with the solar system as their clients are hardly without power. So yes a big chunk of money upfront but worth it in the long run especially if you want to run an efficient business in hospitality.

The fuse disconnect fuse retainer clips is either broken off or assembled incorrectly is the disconnect by any chance a Onesto. No it is not safe if you need to disconnect the battery in case of emergency it is not possible.

Have fitted 12 Kodak OG 7.2 inverters.   All 100% successful and reliable
I like the fact that you can operate it during the day as Solar output first during the day and Utility at night 

That's what I've heard as well - if the strike is strong enough it will breach all protection measures taken.  Eish.
Neighbour 5 houses away had direct strike and every single electical appliance was fried.  So in comparison I came off lightly.... And luckily my insurance covers this.  

Well my joy was short-lived.
Timeline:
17h40: "Yay, wiring redone, let's check"... System restart as normal, all things running fine, no errors. Change settings to previous as system was DEFAULT (Values as suggested by Coulomb a while back). Switch the house supply over to inverter. "HAPPINESS", just before 18h00 load shedding.
19h40: Power goes out in the house. "WHAT NOW?!" Get to inverter. Fault 58. "But, why?" Nothing dramatically happened in the house at 19h40?! Restart attempt, Sorry Fault 53.
"Fine, will wait to restart after grid is back."
20h15: Restart again, grid available. Large "POP". FAULT 09.
BACK to SQUARE ONE.
Might be time to consider replacing the inverter altogether, not looking forward to faultfinding this if the system failed so quickly after a Repair.

Hi all. In the load shedding world we find ourselves in, I thought I would share a way to show Eskom some love. Because Eskom has mostly coal fired plants, they would be forever grateful if you could flatten the curve for them. A normal household should then try to prosume energy as follows:

Based on the specs @Moffat posted a 1600W will either have 6 or 8 batteries in series and yours only 4.
With these series connections I would rather not use that number of lithium batteries as the different batteries might be running at different voltages and each internal BMS would just cater for it's own cells. Also costly to try it by trail and error. 

UPDATE:
During faultfinding, while starting up, there was a loud "POP" and an ember coming from the inverter...
I have now made contact with our local inverter repair guy. Let's see if it is repairable.
 
Back to Loadshedding with the plebs in the meantime.

I had similar experience  - registered in March - got popup, and no more. A couple of weeks ago, I needed technical support, and in the email I queried the warranty certificate at the same time. I got an emailed warranty certificate sent to me within a day or 2. 
I had emailed support@sunsynk, and the warranty query was forwarded to Dominique, who sent me the emailed certificate.

Perhaps you could email Dominique directly with your serial number and date of registration ( I sent approximate date)

I am not the expert, but to my understanding in your case, you can actually easily feed back into the grid (turn the rotary backwards). For as long as your feed does not exceed your grid usage, you should be fine (otherwise the municipality will start complaining). A couple of safety things to consider, but if I were you, I would actively feed back into the grid (which would also offset your trickle feed consumption)

Everyone suggested 20W to me, but being a cheap bastard, I put in 10W and no issues with pre-paid meter.

I'm in Cape Town and get around R9 per kg scrap value. That was a few months ago though. Generally I find that if one battery is gone the rest soon follow and I don"t have the time to test them.

Go for the Hubbles, if 2 batteries are enough for your needs. That extended warranty on the SunSynk is more of a marketing trick, in my opinion.
