April 15, 20206 yr I'm looking for such a cable, does anybody know where I can get one made up in SA? CONSOLE PORT (RJ-11 connector) pylontech battery cable as below, its to talk natively to the US3000 battery BMS. April 16, 20206 yr Author Thank you. I'm stuck in Riyadh and have made one up here, but getting it or me back to SA is going to take months!
April 16, 20206 yr A "quick" temporary fix is to file a normal ethernet plug down to 4 contact pins. Just file it from both sides until it fits😃

February 24, 20215 yr I manufactured one for myself, thanks to the schematics above. For the moment I have only 8 US3000 batteries, but I will add another 4 plus a LV Hub, so I will end up with 2 separate banks of 6 batteries. I assume that there is no solution to monitor all connected banks with one cable, but each bank itself...so either you just move the cable from bank to another, or you have one cable per bank. Correct?
February 25, 20215 yr Hi @cristimv It's possible to monitor the entire bank via a single cable into the master battery. I use solar assistant, what stats are you interested in monitoring? Then I can tell you if it's there or not. https://solar-assistant.io/

March 20, 20215 yr Hi, I have bought this cable (4P4C) https://a.aliexpress.com/_uvJmCP Do you know if it will work?

March 21, 20215 yr Hi, I use a normal USB-Serial converter. I then made a cable DB9 to RJ11 and used the info in the Pylontech manual to wire. It is working fine on ICC software and Raspberry PI. I just bought a US3000C and the console port is now a RJ45. I just made a new DB9 to RJ45 cable using info in Pylontech manual. That is also working fine. Just remember RS232-TX of the Pylontech goes to RS-232 RX on DB9 and RS232-RX of the Pylontech goes to RS-232 TX on DB9.

July 20, 20223 yr Hi guys, I've created a simple version - see below. Let me know if anyone is interested - supports both RJ-11 and RJ-45 connectors. The RJ-45 to RJ-11/45 cable supports both the older and newer Pylontech models. See picture and let me know. Based on Pretoria.

Can anyone else confirm if it actually works with batteryview and Pylontech US3000
April 4, 20233 yr Made this from cable supplied with inverter, cut off the one end and fitted RJ11. Downloaded Batteryview from this Forum.
September 16, 20232 yr i'd like to make RJ45 -> USB I don't have a serial port Anyone know the pin connections, which on RJ45 connect to which on USB. Need to FW update US2000B's and US3000C's G
September 17, 20232 yr I'd like to make this with a USB on the computer side fanning out to a rj45 and in parallel a rs11 allowing me to connect to my older US2000 and the new US3000C. have anyone done this ? Can I straight connect or do I need to use a TTL/RS232 board. In which case which ports of the TTL/RS232 do I connect to which pins on the RS11 and RS45? G
September 18, 20232 yr Buy one of these from Communica. It caters for both RJ11 and RJ45 console port on the Pylontech BATT RS232-USB CABLE KIT PYL - Communica [Part No: BATT RS232-USB CABLE KIT PYL]
September 18, 20232 yr Hmm so now I’m sitting with a RS232 port… how I connect that to Pylontech? Looks like 1/2 of what’s needed? This is probably a 1 x activity for me, I think I have most of the bits needed, USB cables, rj45, just need to get RJ11’s prefer to make. G
September 18, 20232 yr The USB is on the one side and the RS232 the other. Then the other half of the RS232 either has a RJ11 or a RJ45 at the other end hence the kit coming with both. You have to connect the RS232 male to the RS232 female to complete the cable -> USB - RS232 - RJ11/RJ45. The firmware update would be a once off but at least you can pull the logs from the batteries with the Battery View software at any stage.

Haven't pulled logs in 4 yrs... can't see it being important enough to justify R750+ G
