  1. Hi as stated, looking high and low for a single Dyness B4850 battery to expand my current bank of x2 B4850's which were installed 6/2/2020. Might even consider selling my current bank.
  2. I run the hybrid and during loadshedding during the day, it will always use available PV then if there's a shortfall it will pull from batterys. Most of the time PV can sufficiently handle loads without battery depending on available pv and load. In the event it needs to pull from battery it will recharge battery as soon as load is less.
  3. Don't be tempted to update from the app. I did and bricked my inverter one saterday evening ( it kept rebooting and switching the entire house off until i manually switched it off and flipped change over back to eskom). Had to get hold of Andy @ASPERGO at 11 in the evening panicking to sort out the mess, updates are done by them as new firmware is rolled out. I too suffer from itchy finger syndrome your not alone ๐Ÿ™ƒ
  4. Depends on which model you use for the application, hybrid model is dead silent, it uses a heatsink rather than fan cooling like the other unit
  5. Hi Johan I have the Hybrid luxpower and had all lights and plugs connected including pool. Excluded geyser and stove. Even though geyser and stove are off the lux it will still push pv power to them when is use ( not battery power) only pv . Only downside is you lose those items totally when hit by loadshedding.
  6. Have a look at solar cameras similar the the one below. They come in wifi and 4g lte models with night vision and ptz functions
  7. Any news or updates? Intrested to know who covers damage, or warranty if applicable
  8. Would be interested to find out what the Dyness batteries look like inside and how they stack up against tge pylons. Seeing as the Dyness guys are guys who used to be ex pylon guys.

They have a walk in store as well forgot to mention.

Try a place called electromann.co.za, saw the 18650 and 21700 holders there a few months ago
  11. Try Rand bolt and tool located in Florida Roodepoort. Maybe they can help
  12. Why not try the sonoff between pump and mains?? If I understand correctly power is not directly from the pump but rather split before the pump??? So place sonnoff on wires leading from mains to pump. Does that even make sense??
  13. A few small scale solutions maybe worth a look, but no entertainment eg tv and so on but atleast a few lights and a charger for phone. Built in battery protection and changeable batterys found in most hardware stores. Personal experience with the cheapy GD light kit with 3 bulbs main spot and charger= only used it as a spot in an area I didn't want to go thru the hassel of running cable and light fitting. On main spot beam the light would be on and super bright for about 2 and a half hours then fade off and die in 4 to 5 hours, wouldn't fully charge battery on cloudy days but this was a cheapy R350 experiment kit.
  14. Still waiting on a quote from solarway for the 390 Jas. Mailed and called and months later still no quote. Took my money elsewhere (Solar advice) Collected my panels days later
  15. Hi hi any 390s in stock?
  16. Gelo replied to Leonc's topic in Solar Power
Hi whos got the specials on the JA's?. I have been searching high and low for 390 monos with no luck
  17. Is the diy route feasible tho? When taking to account the cost of ready to go out the box lithiums eg pylons, dyness ect? Would you mind sharing the cost on a diy setup @ebrsa. I also suffer from tinker finger syndrome but worry a diy setup is way out of my technical league.
  18. Agree with the guys above regarding DIY, but buying ready made just seems easier and quicker and looking at prices you quoted not far off from the diy route. Have a look at the pylons and dyness range from solar advice.
  19. Not sure if it would work but this came to mind as apposed to a sealer maybe with some household silicone? Or nut and bolt?. Easy on easy off incase you need to change panels
  20. Very simple download app, power on your sonoff device search it on app and it automatically adds device and your done. Then u can play around with settings. Check if your wifi signal reaches where you wish to install as it will need connection to wifi. As far as physical wiring its as simple as wiring N L E after your main supply then N L E out the box to your device, picture this plug point, cable, sonoff, cable, light
  21. Try the sonoff smart switches,I use the TH16 with temp sensor for the pool motor works like a charm easy to wire up and set up operation parameters i.e set an on off schedule times daily/weekly, all done on an app on your phone set and forget. You Can even remotely switch off/on device, I monitor my solar system from work and if needs be I switch the pool pump off if pv is not sufficient (rainy/cloudy days) Haven't set up the geyser as i have the geyserwise, though many members have had success check out home automation thread. Super cheap at around R260/R280 for the switch, just make sure you get the 16amp 3600w max version for pool or geyser not the basic which is around 10amp 2200w max, which is around R130
  22. Have a look at the luxpower 5kva parallel model, My 2c worth
  23. No no no no..... your panels are definitely suffering from that underperformance bug I read about that was part of a bad batch. Start taking them off load them up (I will supply bakkie) forget the supplier/installer hes full of balls anyway. Come help me install on my roof and proper test for around 15 to 20 years I will give a proper diagnosis by then. Jokes aside you can have 40kw on the roof and if your load is 10watts thats what you will be supplied from Pv. As the guys stated give the panels work to do it give them a load to work with put on appliances during the day to test it out. My setup 8x 390 monos on the roof and 2x 2.4 lithiums, fully charged by 8:45. House tinkers away pulling 120watts or maybe even 460watts occasionally when fridges turn on and. Gave the panels light work with pool pump 0.75kw and even that is light work for 3kw which is not much at 900watts through out the day. Basically your system will only give what your load requires no more, think supply and demand the more your load demands the more the pv will supply. Put it to the test and switch on all the silly appliances you can find once your batteries are fully charged and then have a look at pv performance.
  24. Hi Francois, installed a TH16 for the pool after reading your post. But a little confused as to how you mounted or placed your temp sensor, would you mind sharing a pic? Thanks
  25. Aaaaaah didn't think of that๐Ÿ™ˆ
