AFAIK, you need a USB/RS232/RJ10 cable + laptop. You can make your own USB/RS232/RJ10 cable as documented elsewhere.
May 12, 20224 yr Good morning. Has this SOC issue with the Hubble AM2 batteries been fixed? Is it only related to a certain batch of batteries? I am planning to get a Sunsynk 8kw + 2 AM2 Hubbles, but a bit concerned seeing the issues in this thread.
May 12, 20224 yr The issues with my AM2 are not fixed. I would not recommend the AM2 as a battery. Support has been really poor.
May 12, 20224 yr I am ready to order the batteries to link with the Sunsynk 5 KVA unit. Do I purchase the 5.XKWH Hubble or Sunsynk batteries or what would you suggest. My concern is support, availability ands compatibility?

May 12, 20224 yr My AM2 is from August 2021. Only started to trouble me in March 2022. I would not recommend the AM2 as Hubble have no interest in solving the problems.

May 12, 20224 yr He has updated the software juts two weeks ago. He is monitoring the capacity, but I can tell that the battery can only hokd 2.2kwh of charge. He has also troubleshooted using the AGM settings. I will give it another week before a warranty claim is submitted.

I did this and was banned from posting for a month and received 5 permanent warning points. Apparently one cant post your true experiences if it goes against a certain shop and the admins pushing a product. 💣
May 12, 20224 yr This is my experience and I have contacted Hubble directly. If I get banned for posting my honest opinion and experience then the forum is pointless. I challenge Hubble to come and test my battery at my home and prove otherwise, and I will retract my recommendation.

May 12, 20224 yr Like @YellowTapemeasure my 2x Hubbles have served me well. I feel for those with issues, but I treat my "twins" harshly during load-shedding when I know power should restore. The wife continues with the electric oven, and kettle too. Once load-shedding is over, I then treat the "twins" gently with a 40A recharge via Mains AC. If we are having a multiple day power outage, I ramp up the charge Amps for solar charging. So far the batteries and Inverter are a pleasure to have in these times of power failures. Below is the state of the batteries, as they have just charged after a bout of load-shedding.

Just like yours, my single Hubble has had zero issue and still has it's 110Ah after 266 cycles. Usually at between 30 and 40% in the morning before Solar recharge starts. This snip is now at near 22:00 I have sometimes set the shutdown percentage to 10%, but have never reached this low, as the sun comes to the rescue, or power is restored. The lowest the batteries have gone too, that I can remember is 21%. I see your night usage is very "efficient" at 206W. 👍

May 13, 20224 yr As I haven't bought anything yet, I need to avoid costly mistakes or endless hassles. So I had a quick call with Hubble technical support yesterday about the Hubble/Sunsynk "issues". I dont know what level of tech support the guys was, but it was not a very confidence inspiring call.... According to him there is a definite communication issue between the Sunsynk and Hubble AM2 battery, and you need to run the RIOT Cloudlink if you want to pair the Sunsynk inverter and Hubble battery. He also advised me, since I haven't bought an inverter yet, to rather get a Kodak or Victron ... ?

AFAIK, the Victron Smart Shunt is similar (may need a Cerbo GX to log the data) In my case I'm seeing ~18% difference between AM-2 BMS SoC and SunSync AGM/V SoC calculation. The SunSync SoC calculation is confirmed by the Juntek SoC/Ah readings. If I use the AM-2 BMS SoC, the inverter stops drawing battery at 20% (horizontal). Using AGM-V helps. I've updated my call with Hubble support.
